I watched your video and you said that the Yoder what is 1500 was made from 10 gauge steel but the manufacturer says that the chamber is made from 3/16” or 7 gauge steel, that is quite a bit of difference from 10 gauge, 9/64 steel to 7 gauge, 3/16” steel. With that being said the stainless steel tray on the front is made out of 10 gauge stainless steel
Just bought one. How large of a pig and I do on this smoker grill. I did a 60lb pig on my Trauger but I had to cut the feet off. I just wondering if anyone has done a whole pig on the Yoder 1500 yet?

Sorry Guys, but these don't hold a candle to the REC TEC Grills!!! I own BOTH Yoder and REC TEC (Multiple REC TEC's) and the quality doesn't even compare!!
Chris, Thanks for the feedback! While Rec Tec grills are good, we really like the quality (10 gauge steel) and versatility (high temperature searing) of Yoder. But as long as the food coming off your grills tastes good, that is all that matters. Happy grilling!

I have a ys640 and would love to upgrade to the 1500. These pellet smokers are beasts. Very heavy duty and do a great job cooking.
We just finished a brisket on the YS640, but we were dreaming of cooking a couple on the YS1500!

the 1500 has 3/16 thick steel, not 10 gauge
The user manual on the 1500, warranty info and website FAQs still say the cooking chamber is made from 10 gauge steel.
