In India,
For PhD in science field after masters:
1. Any nation wide examination like jest, gate or jrf/net + interview in institutes.
2. For PhD in university you will have to clear either net/university level entrance exam.
For integrated PhD in science after bachelors:
Any nation wide examination as mentioned+interview in institutes.
For abroad,
Either you can apply after a paper in refereed journals or there are few entrance exams like jre/toffel.

For the PhD marks are not so important, bt there is need of deep understand of subject.
I got 48% in 12 th, bt now I am doing PhD in a university.
Bt Ya you have to cross the minimum crateria of passing, in a PET & Masters degree.

I think you should get some information about phd...UGC net is not compulsory but with UGC net u can skip entrance exam for phd ..UGC or csir net will be compulsory frm 2021 .

पी० एच० डी० दो साल के बाद कभी भी पूरी कि जाती है, तीन साल जरूरी नही हैं, कम से कम दो साल अ्दिकतम छः साल का समय निर्धारित है।
अगर चाहे तो बिना नेट/ जे आर एफ के भी पी जी करके भी एडमिशन मिलता है। लेकिन कोर्स के दौरान बहुत पैसा खर्च होता है, लगभग बारह हजार महिना खर्च आता है, यह खर्च अपने कार्यक्षेत्र के अनुसार ज्यादा भी हो सकता है लगभग तीस हजार महिना। इसलिए बिना नेट के इस कोर्स मे जाने कि न सोचे।
अगर जे आर एफ क्लियर करके इस कोर्स मे जायेगे तो पच्चीस हजार से लेकर चालीस हजार तक महिना स्कालर्सिप भी मिलेगी।
