The most impressive thing is they managed to sing this live without confusing all the lines starting with "more" and "build". Other than the song itself of course, that one is the impressive thing of the year.
the amount of hate LMAO, like bro if it aint for you, it aint for you, move on. the band’s doing whatever they want because they can. whether u wanna strap in for the ride is ur choice.
This, all these people doing these insane mental gymnastics in order to justify not liking it when in reality it's just not for them and that's perfectly valid. Nothing will be for absolutely everyone, it's just not possible.
I really feel like these new songs are meant to be seen live , they are an experience and when I am watching I am totally tranced into the entire show and music . What a great vibe
That smile Syn made at the ending brought out fucking tears of joy from me just knowing that he, the rest of the guys and the whole world knows that Avenged Sevenfold is back on fucking top and better than ever even though they are and always have been the best! I've missed these guys so much, so glad to see my favorite band back and tearing shit up again! 🤘❤️🔥
really diggin the sound. I know it doesn't "sound" like A7X but maybe thats a good thing. Why would I want to listen to the same chugga chugga breakdown BS? Keep innovating boys.
So cool how Syn is doing all of that crazy edm type stuff on guitar, like I would have never thought it was actually guitar but that's so cool. Of course it's really hard to tell exactly what he's doing in this video, so naturally people doing covers wouldn't even try to play in those parts.
Thank you for taking this video, @morganpay I love this band so much! I'm really loving the new sounds we're hearing from them as well. I love an evolving band! 😁
From 2:25 till 3:16 It felt like I was listening to the avenged sevenfold I fell in love with. This has a "waking the fallen" esque sound I hope they keep it up!
I see a lot of Mr. Bungle influence, that was always there in this band, but in last years they are trying to do something different or new, I prefer they doing some mistakes in this direction than doing the same old things
What does he mean when he says "we love you" i know it must be a metaphor. He cant be talking about the band loving us so is it about the elites watching us work our lives away while telling us they love us?
If you watch the music video it definitely seems like it’s in that direction of big corporations taking over your surroundings with more of everything while telling you they love you.
@@A7XMARINE101 i just found the meaning on reddit the first part is the system booting up and then its fully active in the verse and then the other choruses are it telling the person it loves them and all that. And then the end represents the person is better off being blind than knowing whats going on because it only affects them if they pay attention to it and it would be better to just ride around in a canoe than worry about all those things
Yeah I definately think it’s that. Think of your boss and your boss’s boss, how they keep saying that they love you just enough so you won’t leave for something else. That can be applied to life in general.
I think we shouldn't understand the song as a "one meaning" song, as the effect it produces on the fans also matters. Just as music videos aren't always fully transcribing the poetry (they're actually often two different things, an addition of some details or a clarification of some points, but they never have the same impact, nor job the lyrics have) As much as I agree with what the majority thinks, it feels like the last part of the song has definitely another vibe... I don't wanna dig up all details, but the song truly gives a sort of double feeling, just like comedy was doing in the past years (denounce but don't sentence) First meaning sounds like a real description of the conditions of human being, enslave in a society they don't understand anymore and that abuses of them. Surrealism, Absurd and some Relativism theories tried to explain that humanity is trapped in its own game, conscious of living but unable to come back to the state of nature, because society and materialism have destroyed what was the most primitive and natural in us. Therefore, this consciousness of being alive can encourage humans to rethink about their situation and loss of identity and that's something society doesn't want, as corporations don't want people to rethink their nature and situation too much. To prevent people from realising they lost their identity, society gives them fake goals, qualities, love, telling them that they're succeeding in their lives a society "members" (while we're defintilely failing at becoming individuals). Camus, that Sevenfold got inspired from, studied a lot about identity and understood this loss we're having now. So yes in the first part, the band seems to truly take the aspect and voice of people in control of the world, but I truly think that there's a second and more positive message. We shouldn't forget that the first targets are the fans so that's why, yes, I believe that the band also speaks to "us" as a sort of encouraging message against the loneliness. Sevenfold here doesn't propose any solution to fight against the enslavement of modern world, they can't, because finding our place as an individual should come from introspection, not from the advice and opinions of anybody. In this meantime, while fans will be looking at a way to get rid of those chains, the band tries to encourage the fan into his personal development, proposing a guideline of what he naturally earned, without the help of society (the simple aspect of being born is here explained as the first victory we made as individuals, surviving until this point is another, being loved by people around us, showing you that your decisions aren't bad, they're always a victory, but maybe you'll realise it later). And it ends up simply by the band saying they still love you, despite your condition of non individuals : love is a strong feeling showing people not to give up. We can all make it someday. This whole song is quite complicated, as Sevenfold made a double speech in here : a first one with the voice of a mistreating society, not caring about anyone ; a second one showing you that you're not alone in this situation and that they, and all of the others around, trust in you and your capacity to free yourself. Unlike Camus, they don't call people to make a revolution, because they believe that this revolution should first be inside of you. Revolution shouldn't be made from the large (the people fighting their executioners) to the tight (to become back individuals with more rights and identity), but from the tight to the large. There's so much more to say and explain about this text, but it might take too long and this is already quite long tbt...
He can’t be screaming like that anymore. He needs to change the pace maybe for his voice too so he doesn’t damage his vocals. They’ve been making music for over 20 years. I’m sure his voice can’t take a full blown heavy metal album anymore
You're hilarious. This is a prime example of a band experimenting with their sound and completely failing at it. You don't have to hate the band to understand that
People like different things. Some like jazz, some like classical, some like rap, country music, and some dislike various music as well. It's not failure, just because certain people don't like it. I think it sounds pretty cool. Those 16th notes on the guitar and drums sound cool, kinda cool chord progressions. He gets up into the gritty screamy voice, and it sounds good. People must think all that matters is their own personal taste. Even if it doesn't sell as much, if they and lots of people get enjoyment out of it, it's not a failure.
In a whole, yes this can seem like a bad song. But, it has enough to in it for it to be atleast interesting. It has a couple good sections, but is mostly puzzling
You didn't grow out, they did lol. He literally said so in a recent interview. I hate to be so negative but I think rev was a large part of their music writing in the past. I much prefer their older stuff especially compared to this.

I remeber people whining when City of Evil came out because it was different, and now it's the greatest one? Pick a lane and stay in it.
People are whiney babies who think theirs is the only opinion that matters, it seems.
I was in high school when City came out, and everyone kept bitching about them going softer! 😂🤣 A week later they started saying they liked the album.
