  • This video we explain what tie rod ends are and how they can cause death wobble in a Jeep Wrangler. Loose tie rod ends are a very common cause of death wobble in a Jeep Wrangler so they are one of the first things you should look at when diagnosing death wobble. If you have a 2019 Jeep Wrangler JL there is another video to watch focused on death wobble in the Jeep JL.

Where is your shop located. I have a extreme wheel shake upon hitting bumps and braking but its not constant. 18 JLU 35x12.50, 2.5 AEV lift, duel steering stabilizers. Dealer cannot diagnose. Dealer states all is tight and correct. I don't want to just throw parts at it.

@@dr.deathwobble4899I was wondering the same thing. Replaced my drag link and tie rod with CavFab standard steering kit. Required deleting stabilizer and sway bars. Made MAJOR death wobble. Swapped to a high clearance kit (CavFab). Sway bars are back on and had to drill out pitman and knuckles to 5/8.”Fixed a lot of it so I could drive it but my alignment is way off. Now, the wobble happens occasionally when I hit a bump at 40-45 mph. Drove it to beach fine except for a couple slow bumpy roads. Likely swapping my track bar and having it lined up when I get back. Wish u were closer to NC.

I have death wobble at 45 mph. My lift is only 8 months old. With someone mlving the steering wheel the only bushing i see with any give is the drag link attached to the pitman arm. Is that it?

Jorge I assume you mean twist the bar and have movement. Yes twist is normal.

I have a 1999 Jeep XJ with a 4" lift. I already replaced track bar, still had Death Wobble, I then replaced all sway bar mounts and links with new disconnects. This helped but still can feel wobble at 50-60 mph. I was told my tie rod ends have some motion but not very bad, as well as ball joints and an axle on one side. Should I just replace everything?

Gary Karczewski you need to start with what you know is wrong. If in fact those components are loose they need to be replaced.

Subscribed! So, for someone that’s strapped on cash, and you’d have to decide only one link (for now) to buy, would it be the TB I should be spending my money on? I have 38s, adjustable LCAs, and 2” Rancho sport lift on my JK. Everything else is stock and have a slight bump steer that, in the right situation, turns into a wobble and ONLY at low speeds. All other DW list has been checked off. Meaning, all links, joints, hubs, are all tight and functioning as they should. Proper caster & toe, too. Thank you in advance.

TB isn’t a bad idea, provided that your other variables are all in check. Here is a link for a track bar for your Jeep. Thanks for watching. drdeathwobble.com/collections/jeep-wrangler-jk-jku-products/products/yeti-xd-jk-track-bar
