Nice that you mentioned the Magic Wand which is currently hiding in the Wiki. I feel like the invis spell nerf from 4 to 3 seconds really hits hard this playtest, although I guess that duration can be extended with better gear.
I imagine this is info from the last playtest. Light reveals stealth now so its at least worth considering. Ignite was broken and bugged during the last play test so its ranking most likely will change with its fixed state.

I personally think chain lightning is hard to play with squads as it bounces to 4 instead of 3 and thunder is honestly underrated imo, situations in squad have it hard to use fireballs due to its aoe but thunder has decent hitbox and it feels like it does more dmg than fireballs to me
Well, if you making a guide for people other than yourself you shouldn't overlook things just because of your own preferences. Is magic staff better at breaking things compared to other options? Yes. Is this an information that can change viewer preferences based on their situation and playstyle? Yes. Then it is a useful information that maybe should be mentioned in guide. Not to say that it is obviously more useful info then "can attack, i guess"😂

Honestly i'm not sure what i'm doing wrong, but I'm playing wizard and trying to apply these tips, lot of it works ofc, my biggest issue rn is i can't kill anyone, sometime i throw like all my 5 fireballs on a player, i die and they're still 50% hp. What's wrong here? is wizard just very gear dependant?
well, that is what we call "fear loot", losing gear is part of the game, if you just play with crap gear just because you will lose the good gear you will lose most of the fun part of the game
im no expert but from using it it feels like its bouncing based on proximity, so the closest target is the one it jumps to. that seems to me the logical way it SHOULD be working, but uh, many a times ive been proven wrong so take that with a grain of salt... also no idea if it will prioritise non-teammates over teammates aswell, assuming both are in range of the 4m bounce
how do you goes invisible with fireball. last season there a guy named bendoverandtakeit he goes around with haste and invisble with fireball and one shoting people
@@joshsu-yn9ky he's not channeling the fireball while invis. He's either timing his reveal really well with quick chant, or he sacrificed meditate for instant cast.

I can't get into wizard at all, i just cast spells incredibly slowly and it seems to deal nowhere near the damage that I'm seeing in videos, I mostly just die to mobs every game because I feel like I have no kite potential due to slow casting speed / needing to be stationary, and there being mobs around every corner which I would inadvertently aggro. I also can't kill mobs quickly enough for them to not be able to get to me.
@@dresboni maybe they need to give the wizard a bit more initial power and worse scaling? I don't know, the other classes feel like a breeze for PVE in comparison
@TheAirak the wizard doesn't struggle with dealing damage to pve either, you just need to use your magic missiles. I agree that they completely fucked up with the nerfs though because in pvp when you have no gear it feels like the wizard is all bark and no bite. However when he has gear the nerfs changed nothing and he is still just as broken.
@@dresboni I watched a few guides on how to play the wizard, but the people are using books, I can't get a book since I haven't managed to survive even once to buy a book. I'm stuck with the staff, I play solo in goblin caves and there is very little space for kiting, magic missiles at low level with default gear kill a goblin only when I manage to hit I guess 8/10 of them, I am aiming at the head as best I can. Most of the time I can't hit the goblins with all of them when I'm too far, when I'm too close and hitting them is easier, they tend to get to me and slash me once before I manage to cast a full magical missile spell... That's >50% of my health gone Not sure what i'm doing wrong here.
@@TheAirak Next playtest make sure you make use of your other spells too after burning magic missile on a mob. Keep in mind the goblin caves are actually bit tougher to get out of as a starter kit than normal lobbies even though in normal lobbies there are player groups. I feel you on the book though. I played some starter runs on every class to get footage for some gameplay videos and wizard was by far the toughest because of how bad the magic staff is.
i really hope they change this honestly the main problem is hate+invis its just way too much power for any one class as long as thats in the game wizard is going to be the best class by a mile and thats just not fun.
They already nerfed the durations of both. Apparently wizard dominates high roller, but that's small comfort to us typical wizard players who need multiple fireballs just to bring down one opponent and can die to a single melee bonk. The solution is looking at how gear scales power, not making the base class even weaker. Reminder that the #1 and #2 ranked players in player kills this playtest both played barbarian and each had over twice the number of kills of the #3 ranked player, who played wizard.
@@Shadowmech88 the wizard is so much more than kill power though those high roller barbs get a lot of kills because wizard casting haste on them and ignite weapon they simply did too much damage+support i think they are in a better spot now but we will have to trust the devs to find the right balance with the stats and info they got.

uhm you forgot the fire buff can be put on allies making it a very nice support spell. but also be carefull not to use it on enemies. i found out the hard way once :( the game needs maybe a button that allows self cast. so i dont have to look down or up quickly if i wanna self heal. buff. protect etc. its so damn annoying.
also barb for sure has the best movement in the game, you are already encouraged to not wear a chest armor so when you drop the helmet and pants and pop your movement ability you are easily the fastest class in the game not to mention being able to break down doors and chest with a single swing
Unfortunately Wizards got hit with the nerf bat rather hard, so much of this is no longer accurate. Invisibility for example is rather lackluster now with only a 3 seconds duration. 1 seconds duration change might not seem like much but it makes a huge difference to the usefulness of the spell. Casting speed perk was nerfed to 10% from 20% as well, so that makes casting utility spells even less useful.
Also if Will gives magical power doesn't it give buff and debuff duration alongside base magic resist? If so would the best in slot be +3 to all stats because you'll overall get more out of it with health, loot speed, and damage?

Good call but this video is outdated. Most of the important skills that he mentioned are hardly nerfed. Invisibility to 3sec, Quick Chant down to 10% from 20% which is huge difference, Fireball is twice as weak and more. Since you're uploading an outdated video, make sure to point it out too. Fireball is not nerfed at all. It's in fact still an S tier spell. What changed were the wizard base stats. Just because there were a few minor tweaks doesn't make the entire video outdated. The tweaks id make rn are moving quick chant and invis down to A tier and light orb up to c tier.
My friend and I got destroy yesterday on the last day of the playtest by dresboni and his team. They opened a door and then I was dead - headshot by archer. We spectated them as they literally destroyed the lich boss, hehe.

Zap and chip at them. Slow messes with melee if you want to fire dagger people. Aoe Spells for last resort or as needed.

Which does not change the fact it sucks for anything else. I'd still rather have a crystal sword in my secondary slot for breaking crates.

Um what is your gear. That cast time for fireball was about 1 second to my 3 to 3.5 seconds.

Every class is fairly gear dependent. With the new patch wizard is no longer a big exception. Try to stack the stats showcased in getting started

Definitely worth experimenting with, although I'd say fireball is still better.

It means no travel time, if the target is on the crosshair when the spell goes out it will hit

10% is still significant and wizards move the same base speed.

You have to stand still to fire all of them. The spell stops firing if you move, so if you cast on the move you'll only fire one.

Probably next to sage, as sage gives you two knowledge which is the same as 10% casting speed (1 knowledge = 5% casting speed)

It'll feel like that when you dont have good gear. The wizard's starting stats have been heavily nerfed

I personally disagree, I think looking up or down is a form of skill expression and is healthy for the class. In my opinion.

Haste speed didnt change at all. Invis went from 4 seconds to 3 so id put it in A tier now
