Lifelong Oregonian attempts to pump gas for the first time now that it's legal

- Hi it's me, The Oregonian/OregonLive's video editor, Teresa Mahoney. I have to admit, I've never pumped my own gas before. As a lifelong Oregonian, I've never had the need to (nor could I, legally). Sure, I've assisted on out-of-state roadtrips, but never attempted it solo. Plus, I mostly took TriMet before the pandemic or had stints in NYC or India where I didn't even need a car.
But after Gov. Tina Kotek signed House Bill 2426 into law Friday, reversing a decades-old ban on self-serve gasoline, Oregonians now have the option of pumping their own gas. So I gave it a shot. Be gentle, kind viewer. Most things done for the first time don't always go smoothly.

Don't forget to tell your viewers when removing the nozzle hold it up so you don't drip gas on your paint.
I've never had someone else pump my gas lol we don't have that option here
Seriously. Hillarious
It's not that hard. I had to learn when I moved to WA for a few years. I prefer NOT to.
I don't want the attendants to loose their jobs so I will continue to utilize their services
