- A pet pig lives a luxury lifestyle by spending all night snuggled on the sofa watching its favourite TV box sets - including The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones. Penny the pampered pig weighs a whopping 30kg, but still cosies up on the sofa every evening with owners Hannah Kembrey and Mike Baxter. At just nine months old, Penny the ginger micro pig has already learned a few tricks such as sit and wait, but still causes trouble by munching her way through the kitchen cupboards. Hannah, 22, and Mike, 21, also have a special 'pig licence' to take their unique pet on walks around their home in Worle, Somerset, where Penny has become a local celebrity. Hannah, who works at PetsAtHome in Portishead added: "She's so intelligent and all she wants to do is come up on the sofa and cuddle to be honest.
Most people underestimate the Pigs capacity for cuteness. What an underrated pet.

Better for them to be a bit underrated honestly. To live a content and happy life, most pet pigs reguire maintenance and space, that most households just couldn't give them.
There was a boom at one point, where pet pigs were viewed as a fashionable and as one would expect, lot of people got themselves a pig without looking into what it actually takes to keep one, or even how big they would eventually grow, with predictably disastrous results. Breaks my heart just a bit to think about it.

I don't know about the pot belly pigs some of those I heard are the same way. If you have a hobby farm no reason not to have pigs for pets may not turn out like this video all I'm saying.
I have a pig. They are NOT like dogs. They are destructive, stubborn, and scream at louder decibels than a jet engine. They must have special vets, regular hoof and tusk trims. They must have access to the outside and proper housing. They get big! They need a special diet. If not neutered they will stink and become very aggressive.
Pigs are smart, they use a litter box.
Do they poop outside thr box as a show of passive agressiveness like cats?

Not all pigs are affectionate when they get older want to find one that is bread for pets. Some just like being outside friend rescued some meat industry pigs they got really big when they were young they loved people once they got older they come to you if you had food. They just wanted to do their own thing maybe people are like that too somewhat.

It's GREAT that you care for this unfortunately much maligned creature, pugs get SUCH a raw deal, they are highly intelligent, very clean and love human contact, I hate it when I see howcruellt they are treated in intensive farming and slaughterhouses, just breaks my heart. I'd like to keep a out myself, we have a cat at the moment, what would your suggestions/ tips be so that u can get accustomed to what I need to do.

but please just do your research. you deserve to know what you’re putting into your body because even if you’re ok with killing an animal for the taste, it may be damaging your body more than you know.
instead of mindlessly eating meat, you should seriously consider what it is, where it’s from and what happened for it to get on you plate.
i know that making fun of vegans and commenting things like “i ate bacon while watching this” will forever be hilarious to some, but you really must realise that when you buy that bacon you are paying someone else to murder an animal.
although you think grown pigs “suck”, that doesn’t give you the right to kill them. in fact, pigs are said to be more intelligent than dogs.

Robert Curcio of course people are entitled to their own opinions and having conversations are so important these days but on that note i just want to add that killing plants is *not* the same thing as killing animals. plants cannot feel pain, don’t have blood, internal organs, a face, sense of smell, taste, sight, hearing or touch and are nowhere near as intelligent as animals. the comparison just isn’t a fair one. also we nowadays don’t need to depend on meat. our brain thrives off glucose and fructose. these things come from carbs, fruits and vegetables. at one point in evolution we did start eating meat but where we are right now, eating meat, especially in an unhealthy, unbalanced way, is proving to be doing a lot more harm than good.
just so long as your diet consists of *mostly* fruits, vegetables and carbs you should lead a healthy life
hopefully new advancements in the food industry and technology and a general conscious population can make the unnecessary suffering of these highly intelligent animals fade away.

My daughter has a male Pig he's around three maybe four years old hes totally house trained he has inside manners she named him bacon the neighbors thinks she's a little nuts except for one who has 3 Potbelly's and one that weighs around 600 lb they also stay in the house

All of the afore-mentioned BUT many pigs are sold as 'mini' or 'potbellied' when they're not. Even full-grown potbellied pigs are not small! When you snuggle you pig on the couch or the bed, picture it in a few months when it's as big as the couch, brokenhearted & very insistent on making 'a spot' on the couch...or your bed! Buy a cot mattress & keep it ON THE FLOOR! You can lie with it there. ; )

My old high school friend and I took that to another level and threw dog shit on people’s houses, yup we were total jerks... once we stumbled on a basement apartment, the kitchen window was opened and right beneath there was an open pot of boiling stew or something so we found a nice big dry dog shit, stabbed it with a stick and threw it in there

It is NOT like having a dog. Pigs are extremely destructive. I guarantee their house is destroyed. Pigs need a special vet. They must have regular hoof and tusk trims. They are territorial and become aggressive if kept inside for years. They can scream louder than you’ve ever heard. This pig will get BIG. Pigs are not indoor pets, do not be fooled. This will end badly for the pig😢

Its a no brainer owning a pig for a pet. When they r young u get a cute little companion. When they get older and much bigger, becoming a destructive housewrecking nuisance ( and trust me, they most certainly will )you end up with a nice succulent pork roast and some delicious bacon !
Dog bacon is fine too, you should try it some time. Why waste it, and it lived a nice life, everything's fine.
