    It seems that news have come out that a debris field has been discovered with the landing frame and rear cover being discovered at the Ocean floor which implies an Implosion indeed happened..
    Was it because the frame was not tested enough times, some stress fracture that got worse over time.. it remains to be seen what exactly happened, they should have video feed from inside the sub recorded, hopefully that will give some answers.

      James Cameron talks at length about the likelihood that it imploded at about 3,000 feet and called in some confidential sources to back that up. If that's true, then the coast guard knew that on Monday. He's quite certain of that, but doesn't understand the whole song and dance of keeping up false hopes, or why they didn't announce that immediately. Easy to find here on YT. He speaks about it on a few channels but chose not to talk about it until now.

      @@transientdreams I think until visually confirming debris they cant stop the search. Still the noise could have been anything.. but the more I look into this the more Im starting to wonder if they heard some cracking sounds and the vessel stayed intact for a bit of time and they tried to come up. Just cause Cameron himself stated that the bang was heard some time AFTER the communication was lost. Hopefully investigators can uncover if they had released weights.. if they did.. it would mean they knew they were almost certainly about to die

      @@TheTanelChannel I agree. But, thinking about what you just said, It trips a sudden thought that if they had the time and enough warning to release the ballast, then that alone might have been shock enough to the sub that caused it all to fall in. He (Stockton)was an arrogant idiot who didn't listen to many warnings, just like the Captain of the Titanic. I'm just sorry he wasn't alone when it happened.

      @@TheTanelChannel The "noise'" could easily have been them if they survived long enough. It's a HUGE question at this point. Something made that noise at half-hour intervals on the half hour and the hour. I am utterly perplexed and have no answers. But the fact that either is possible means only one can be exclusionary. Pictures tell the story. But considering they were still almost a mile above the wreck, it makes no sense the debris field would be so conveniently near the Titanic wreck. So much here makes no sense. I respect you opinion, to say the least. Here is a link that another likelihood of this scenario..

    Turns out there were warnings by experts about the safety of the vessel back in 2018 that were ignored. A lawsuit came about involving a former OceanGate Employee, David Lochridge who flagged several safety concerns about the hull. He said that it was "experimental and there wasn't enough testing and that flammable materials were being used inside the hull." He also said that "the carbon fiber tube was at risk of imploding especially after repeated use!" He was fired by Ocean Gate for refusing to send maned trips to the Titanic without more testing. In addition, the Marine Technology Society (MTS) expressed concern about the Titan submersible and planned trips to the Titanic, stating that the "experimental" approach by OceanGate could result in negative outcomes (from minor to Catastrophic)".

      This needs to be looked into, im praying that the noises heard by Sonar is actually them still alive because there are a couple of ships on the way that are very close to the site now which have multiple ROV-s that can operate at that depth, including ROV-s putting down cables on the ocean floors.. these may be able to grab hold of the vessel or put a cable trough some opening to bring it back up.

    In my opinion, as a structural engineer, certified SCUBA diver and private pilot, I'd suggest a failure of the observation window with the body of the frame. The pressure is 380 atmospheric pressures, and any seal failure would result in an intrusion of high pressure water into the sub, and in a fraction of a second it would implode. I think it would effectively shoot the capsule forward violently. If that were the case, it will be difficult to find the remaining parts. This theory was address by a friend of the captain in an interview on BBC, and in fact the captain himself acknowledged that it was a possibility. Entanglement due to seabed currents would also be an option. The fact that it had no hooks for emergency retrieval and it had no transponder in my opinion is inexcusable. Structurally, the interface between the cylinder shape and the spherical ends might pose a metal fatigue failure. This was an experimental sub and it seems to me to be ludicrous to put humans in such a joy ride.

      isnt it a really bad idea to bolt a metal part onto a carbon structure?
      i just did a little carbon work and always read you should glue and not bolt, since you destroy structure where you put the bolts in.
      and isnt a carbon structure a terrible choice of material for a submarine since carbons strenght is traction (pull) and the force applied to a submarine is pressure.
      so in order to make use of the strenght of carbon the submarine actually needs to compress/deform to make use of the strenght of the material?!
      while compressing and deformation would probably lead to delamination or weak spots?

    I am leaning towards the implosion possibility. Such events have happened before like with the USS Thresher. Based on all the concerns about the hull design, hull testing, hull durability, and viewport strength I think it’s likely, particularly as both forms of communication were cut off together and with no evidence that it has resurfaced like it would normally (unless destroyed or snagged). People are fixated on the undersea noises, but this too has been a distraction in other search missions. Sound carries very well underwater plus there is a lot of metal debris in the area just from the Titanic wreckage. The deep sea is also much noisier than most people realize.

    • @katherinecooper6159

      Unless I have misinterpreted articles I have read, an implosion would be instantaneous resulting in death instantly (without warning). in other words, no time to panic, perhaps pain-free. The bottom line is five people entered Titan thinking only of the opportunity to see the Titanic. Now they are deceased.

    What I have heard from the navy guys who work on nuclear subs is that they train to go to sleep in situations like this and take turns on banging on the hull.
    It seems that in a sleeping state you are the most calm and use less oxygen.

    There is no way to bond the carbon fiber external hull to the titanium inner hull in a way that is meaningful at the extreme pressures at the bottom. If a tiny bit of water gets between the outer and inner hull, the ENTIRE pressure bears down upon the inner shell which was not thick enough to withstand the total pressure, more water came in, it gave in, collapsed and imploded. The fact that is has not ascended shows that there is a serious problem. I agree with the guy speaking in the video in that it is amazing that the vessel doesn't have any backup system or hooks so that it could be pulled up.

    To answer some of your questions, evidence as of right now is pointing to catastrophic implosion. This was actually one of the most likely outcomes. One must keep in mind that the pressure per square inch acting on the crewed compartment, which is pressurized to sea level, is roughly 6,000 pounds per square inch (or 4.1369e+7 Pascal). The slightest failure of any part of the pressure hull will result in a catastrophic implosive event that would take less than 2 milliseconds to kill everyone inside that pressure hull.
    The reason that it is difficult to capture location in the deep ocean is that water is a tremendously good barrier to radiation. When you have thousands of feet of water above you, it is impossible to send radio signals through the water, let alone utilize signals being sent from a global positioning satellite. All communication must be done with sound--including data transmissions--unless a submersible is attached to a mothership by tether.

    • @TheTanelChannel
      @TheTanelChannel  Рік тому +1

      At 8:09 I mentioned the implosion.. and how I think it went. Eighter way though.. I am kinda shocked that these submerisbles that go so deep dont have any sort of cable attatched to them for recovery. What are they afraid a whale or some nets float over Titanic and can jank the cable hard?

    • @Revolutionarythought
      @Revolutionarythought Рік тому

      @@TheTanelChannel having a tethered submersible is absolutely something that could happen; however, the issue with diving on a large wreck site with a tethered submersible is the tether itself.
      To get anywhere worthwhile on the wreck you have to get close to a huge underwater steel structure and its corresponding debris... any part of which could snag a large tether and cause damage to the tether, the submersible, or the wreck (which in this case is an UNESCO site).

    • @TheTanelChannel
      @TheTanelChannel  Рік тому

      @@Revolutionarythought I doubt we will see anymore dives to the Titanic if they cant recover the 5 victims.. I hope they wont give up in finding them but it might be way too expensive to start searching for them with the currents maybe playing a part in making it even more difficult to find everyone.
      In the end I think this is just pure neglect on OceanGate side.. not enough testing. The parts might have been fine for a few dives but I think micro tears might have appeared on vital parts of the craft that finally gave way on this dive.

    • @Revolutionarythought
      @Revolutionarythought Рік тому

      @@TheTanelChannel I have no doubt that dives to Titanic will continue, especially for archeological and monitoring purposes.
      We really need to contextualize this incident. OceanGate was operating an experimental submersible that was not certified by any agency or organization as safe to dive at the depth of Titanic (12,500 feet or 3,800 meters), let alone to take passengers to that depth. OceanGate was doing this because it was a for profit company that was trying to make money off of "deep sea tourism," and in an effort to make as much money as possible OceanGate cut many corners.
      Compare this to the historians, titanic experts, deep sea explorers, and oceanographers who have been taking highly engineered and extremely safe research submersibles to Titanic's wreck for almost 40 years with no fatalities or serious accidents.
      Hindsight is 20/20 as the saying goes, but I think it is also important to remember that at least two people left OceanGate because they had a problem with the testing and safety of OceanGate's Titan submersible, and in 2018 the Marine Technology Society (a society that represents the established deep diving marine research community), wrote a letter to letter to Stockton Rush and OceanGate expressing serious safety concerns with the OceanGate's submersibles.
      So the problem was not, and is not, deep sea exploration or diving on Titanic's wreck. Instead the problem was with OceanGate who built a submersible with untested technology as *cheaply* as possible so they could make the most money they could selling their $250,000 tickets to dive on Titanic's wreck.

    • @bornwild5165
      @bornwild5165 Рік тому +2

      In actual fact, a full steel rope/chain isnt necessary, think of it like a ships anchor, the first 0.5%/10 is chain the other 9.5% is rope, the weight of the chain takes if to the bottom of ocean quickly and lays flat along the floor otherwise the rope wont stay down. Likewise. you only need a Hook and small amount of chain to drop into the ocean, the rest can be rope, whether it be a nylon, or other high tensile strength rope. this reduces weight and easily can be tied together to make the length of rope necessary for this rescue operation. again similar to fishing. it only needs to have a small weight to hold the line down in position, the line is a nylon material or something similar, strong enough to hold fish greatly larger than the thickness of the line. so as a conclusion they can easily get 3miles of rope prepared and flown out to that location with a RAF aircraft and dropped into location.
