I wouldn't say 'reinvented' because your system is probably where they got the idea. That fireman made good points about GPS not always getting crews where they need to be. There's also no guidance or requirement for uniform house numbering. I don't see this type of system being deployed soon, but surely anything - even smaller/cheaper - would be helpful, especially when, as they said, 'time is life.'

In other news, I found it crazy how the audio came from my left side and right front speakers. I'm using a 7.1 Soundbar connected to my tv through ARC. The audio on the left was coming out of my side speaker, and the audio on the right was coming from the front. Mind Blown
