🔹 Kanyakumari - The Crown Jewel of India
1️⃣ Vivekananda Memorial Rock
The main attraction of Kanyakumari is the Vivekananda Rock Memorial. On December 25, 26, and 27 of 1892, Swami Vivekananda meditated here and found his life’s mission. The construction of this memorial faced many challenges, but under the leadership of Eknath Ranade, it was finally built in 1970.
2️⃣ Thiruvalluvar Statue
Near the Vivekananda Rock stands the 133-feet tall statue of Thiruvalluvar, a Tamil philosopher and the author of the great literary work ‘Thirukkural’. The height of the statue represents the 133 chapters of Thirukkural, symbolizing his philosophical teachings.
3️⃣ Glass Bridge
A new attraction, the Glass Bridge, offers a breathtaking view of the ocean. It is one of the best spots to witness the sunrise and sunset.
4️⃣ Devi Kanyakumari Temple
This temple is more than 3,000 years old. According to Hindu mythology, Devi Kanyakumari was established here by Parashurama. It is believed that she was meant to marry Lord Shiva, but the wedding was halted. The rice and grains prepared for the wedding turned into stones, which is a well-known legend associated with the temple.
🔹 Madurai - The City of Temples-1️⃣ Meenakshi Amman Temple
One of India’s most magnificent architectural marvels, the Meenakshi Amman Temple in Madurai features 12 towering gopurams (temple towers) and a hall with 1,000 intricately carved pillars. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Meenakshi (Parvati) and Lord Sundareswarar (Shiva).
