@@buckets_of_lead I usually use leather gloves that I get from friends. The gloves I have for welding I really like(cattle roping lol) and may get another set. I just dont want to pay for the name sometimes I guess.
Being 14g its not bad at all. 4lbs at the absolute max. Stock seat would be triple this. Lots of weight has been shed throughout the bike to compensate as well as the 650 swap with head porting/intakes/carbs/exhaust etc. It will never be a race bike by any stretch of the imagination but it will be a lot quicker than stock.
Very neat - having the imagination is a crucial element. We’ll done.
Thanks Nigel
Very Detailed 👍🏾👍🏾🔥
Thank ya!
A awesome seat pan.
Many thanks!
Great job !
Thank ya Peter!
Nice job!
Great job !!!
Thank you!
Nice. I was working on a cafe racer listening to Joe Rogan this afternoon.
He definitely has some great episodes. I also listen to Dan Cunmins as well as the Pigeonwhole Motorcycle Podcast which is all about builders.
Brilliant!! Thanks for the motivation, my 78CX needs finishing.
Glad it helped! Thanks for checking it out!
Your vids are so good. I am learning on every one of them.
Amazing Job on the seat pan!! has given me the inspiration to get my CX500 back on the road ordered the front/rear hubs from cognito moto
Well I appreciate that! Glad it provided some inspiration!
Where/what are the double latches sourced from? I'm reworking my old Ironhead and this seat latch is brilliant. Way better than bolting it in place.
Those came from a Suzuki sv650 but that setup is very common on pretty much any suzuki from the 90s and up. Easy to find on ebay
it is quality
Great vid. I think you should treat yourself to some new gloves though haha.
Those ARE my new ones lol! They really don't last long
@@BrickHouseBuilds try the mechanix fabricator gloves. But get them a little snug because being real leather they do stretch out once sweaty.

but why steel ..it will rust .. aluminum is good
Its painted so no rust. I like making them from steel as I have less experience than aluminum still and can't bend it like this.
Looks cool but it's gotta be the heaviest seat in motorcycle history. A CX is lucky to have 45hp at the wheel 🤔👍.
