The powerful woman is a legendary actress, Supriya Pathak. She is playiny Deepika's mother. You got it right. She disapproves of Ranveer. But its not where they first met. Thats a different song "Lahu muh lag gaya". This song is more towards the climax of the movie.

she did a traditional folk dance of Gujarat called Garba in this video and the giant drums r called "Dhol" as we can hear in the song "Nagada Sang Dhol Baje"

The giant drums are called Nagada.. dhol is the smaller drum that is strapped to them
Dhol (dholak) are smaller than nagada(bigger)

This is an Indian version of Romeo Juliet adaptation ❤️ the clash of 2 clans. Esp Deepika's designer outfits weighed nearly 8 to 12 kgs as the skirts are layered.

Loved your reaction and really impressed the way you understood the context of the song. But this wasn't the full video song. If you could watch the full video song, you would see the reason behind the reaction of Dhankor Baa (Deepika's mom) when Leela (Deepika) touches Ram's (Ranveer's) feet. And you would understand what's happening in the movie. The power of Dhankor Baa while she dances with fire thaali, that scene is sooooo powerful, whole community stops dancing and just see silently in respect to Dhankor Baa dancing in trance of Maa Durga.

@@americansreview yes...first time when I saw, I was totally mesmerized by her acting, Dhankor Baa played by legendary actress Supriya Pathak ji. Then for a few times when I watched the song, I paid attention to the background, whole set has eyes on her. Deepika, Ranveer all the dancers stopped dancing and were watching Baa in trance. Then comes a twist for which y'all should see the full video song, I won't ruin your fun. By the way, in such cultural programs when someone goes in trance of the goddess, everyone stops doing whatever's they do, like dancing, or anything and just pays their respect to the goddess. Obviously no one interupts the trance, but atleast they pay attention, they pay their respects
Supriya Pathak ji is one of my all time favourite actresses. She has played two most iconic characters which are extremely opposite. One of powerful, intimidating woman Dhankor Baa and the other is the character of Hansa who is childish, innocent, sweetest, silliest, bubbly, dim witted.
do you know Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone are married? and people started shipping them after ram leela i think and their romance started and since then they have done a lot of movies and videos together .. and do watch all the music videos from Ram Leela..they are all a level apart..
