I had a red 72 Buick skylark when I was 17, 350, black bucket Interior with console .. and the gsx became my dream car. I’d love to find a solid skylark and make a gsx clone
Wonderful build always loved theses Buicks a buddy had a 70 GS-400 4 speed .One question though I wondered why you did not use a "his and hers " shifter Boy I sure loved it in my 1969 Goat , anyhow great car...
There never was any type GS post car, that is what the title of this video meant by Re-Creation, he turned a regular gutted basic Skylark into this monster.
Sweeet! How about some info on your build. I have a '66 GS Stage 2 I've been upgrading (video on my channel) and would like to know what you're using for carburation, rear end, trans, etc. Great job on your car
Love your GSX Post recreation! Holy cats she is strong. Would love to put street drag radials on that car and terrorize the streets! LOL>. BUICK Baby....I have a 74 GS 455...she's a strong car but is no Stage II !
There was a story I read many years ago in a car mag about a clandestine race set up between the original Buick Stage 2 car and Jim Wangers' Ram Air 5 Pontiac GTO, at a race track in California sometime in the early 70's. According to the story as I remember it, the lights came down and the cars launched, But as they neared the finish line, the track lights went off, and the track announcer said "By Two", but didn't say who won or by two what. I think the lights were shut off at the finish line by instruction, to keep the race a secret.
More to story then that....Buick trounced in 2 races,...2 and nearly 5 lengths....Pontiac pulled out. It was a GM in house affair between Manner's group and Wangers.
Hi mate. Nice GSX. I’ve got a 72 gsx tribute 455 in Saturn yellow. How does yours go with over heating? We’ve just swapped thermostats and rebuilt the rad. Do you run thermo fans. We’ve had some overheating on long climbs in AZ and looking for some options. Cars about to be shipped to Australia and will not be dragged like yours is so it’s great to see it doing what it was meant to do!
The quality and attention to detail on this car is amazing! Thanks for the video.
THAT IS A BEAUTIFUL MACHINE .
Well done! That thing is fast. I have a non stage 1 '70 GSX 4 speed in Saturn Yellow. I wish it could move like that.
Normally I cannot stand music overlays but in this case totally appropriate. And it stopped at the right time. Thanks and love your Buick.
Now THAT is a musclecar!
Beautiful car but man that Grand National was brutal!
Car is awesome!!!!
Thank you for recording and posting this video.
AWESOME! Perfect Buick and nice angle detailed camera. Thank you.
I'd love to see a walk around and tell about the car and build etc video!

I like the fact that you were fair with the Grand national. Next year show up with a blower and make him eat your dust.

I've never seen a GS post coupe. Did Buick actually build these. Also I've never seen a post door without the vent window.

Awesome!
Hmmmmm......bet with a different cam and convertor combination this thing would be in the mid 9s. This is definitely a drive around combination.
Sweet betsy!

@@timbowhalen3860 Good to know, thanks.
Great video, Wicked Buick 👏 👌 👍 just curious why? No copyright strike for using AC/DC music?

Aluminum radiator and a 160 degree thermostat.
What wheel and tire set up is that did you have to cut any inner wheel well in the back.
What do you have in the rear for such a perfect stance?! Tire size and suspension plssss
2:04 2:10 ❤
Ok
I dont think it won a single race! And it was running 10 second quarter miles!
It won most of them and looked like it lost but the other car was in a different class so they raced the clock but side by side.
The leave is kinda Lazy capital L
