    the kelvin excelsior looks beautiful yet deadly, the connie 2 is great. Thanks for reminding us how good alot of this content is when some actual love is put behind it and made by someone who knows the series. Anyway seeing the romulans basically went silent and came out with a ship on par with the federation in the oringal timeline, it wouldnt surprise me if they started hunting for the borg tech sooner in this timeline, because well the federation ships are the results of late 24th century borg and romulan tech.

      @@TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics For me personally for the official sizes of the Kelvin Universe ships I just am having a hard time believing that their first Enterprise is bigger than a Galaxy and Sovereign class.
      Again that's on me and me alone. As I stated before the original size for the Kelvin Enterprise was originally going to be just a little bit bigger than the original Connie Refit size. But because JJ Abrams wanted that Brewery for part of Engineering and the shuttle bay arrival scene ILM had to upsize the entire ship to the ridiculous size it is.
      If you resize the ship to match it to the size of the windows and docking ports for the Connie Refit then you see where I meant that's originally meant to be just a little bigger than the Connie Refit.

    • @TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics
      @TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics  8 місяців тому

      Oh I know all about the size discrepancy, however, the official size IS the only size that makes sense... I still dont get though why you have such an issue with it being that big... After all, the technology existed in the 23rd Century to make ships as big as they wanted...

    Excellent job for both designs! Also, when you're describing the Klingon history part, you seem to be indicating that "NuTrek" is an alternate universe spun off from the "Kelvin Timeline" instead of the "Prime" (Roddenberry/Berman Era) Timeline, which given the NUMEROUS canon inconsistencies that we've seen from "NuTrek", makes PERFECT sense to me. Again, excellent job!

    in my head canon, the first Kelvin timeline Excelsior class was built from the remains of the USS Vengeance, and would have shared its over all profile, the major differences being, all the negative spaces being filled in, and most (if not all) of the odd angular hull segments being smoothed out, it would also sport a brighter hull plating (same as the Constitution mk 2) and newer nacelles (cross between classic excelsior style and vengeance's nacelles) it would be captained by Captain Styles, before he became head of the excelsior project, and command of the ship was handed over to recently promoted Captain Sulu. the Excelsior NX-2000 and her sister ships would be instrumental in Starfleets fight against the Borg Collective, which had entered federation space earlier than they would have due to Romulan engineers accidently reactivating dormant Borg technology found in wreckage from the Narada. (note: my fan canon does not align with any beta canon sources like the comics, or Star Trek Fleet Command, which both depict separate renditions of a premature Borg invasion of the 23rd century)

    We know that in the Kelvin timeline that Praxis already was damaged or went through a partial explosion as we can see the moon and debrie near the Klingon Homeworld. the fact that Qronos had cities or sections of the planet as uninhabitable does indicate that at the time of Star Trek Into Darkness, they had already suffered the event or a partial event damaging the homeworld, and just continued to push on. Its possible that if they ever do a 4th movie it will deal with the Klingons wanting to work out a peace option with the Federation out of sheer desperation as the resources to save the world just isn't enough and the Empire is under a civil war, that is threatening to spill over into Federation Territory and the Empire is willing to have the Federation either try to help them quell the rebellion peacefully or by force.
    We would get a good introduction of Klingon Tech and more importantly maybe introduce one side that we haven't seen in force yet.
    The Romulan Star Empire I mean come on, After all the stuff that happened due to a Romulan that went Capt Ahab and destroyed the Vulcan Homeworld you would think the Romulans would have been biting at the bit to get access to Federation Tech and be terrified that the Feds have access to technology they themselves would be woefully behind.
    Have them be orchastrating the klingon civil war and hoping it could kill two birds with one stone.

    Making out the dorsal and warp pylons as "structural weak points" on the Enterprise has always struck me as drastically misunderstanding the technology in that world. It's very well established that the weapons of Star Trek make short work of unshielded starships, regardless of the shape. Because of the firepower the ships in Trek pack, it really makes no difference if a phaser/photon torpedo hits the thinnest section of the ship, or the thickest. In Wrath of Kahn we see the Reliant target the most "protected" part of the unshielded Enterprise, main engineering, and knock it offline with a single phaser volley. In Undiscovered Country we see a torpedo from a tiny Bird of Prey (remember, these ships are miniscule next to a ship the size of the Enterprise) punch a hole directly through the Enterpise A's saucer once the shields are weakened.
    The elegant design of the Constitution class is not a "flaw" that needs to be "corrected". It's a feature of the tech level of the setting.

    • @TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics
      @TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics  8 місяців тому +1

      Sorry, you're incorrect... A) Engineering is not any more shielded than any other part of the ship. B) Torpedoes on the bird of prey are the SAME size as Torpedoes on the Enterprise! Both those FACTS make your point moot. You want to like the Enterprises design, despite certain obvious flaws an weaknesses, that's your choice, it's what the rest of us do. but don't make things up to support that personal opinion!

    I wonder if the Klingons in the Kelvin Timeline even have cloaking devices? The Klingons first acquired cloaking technology from the Romulans after the launch of the Constitution class in the Prime Timeline. But in this Kelvin reality, the Klingons were attacked by the Nirada right before the first Constitution class ship launched. Would this attack greatly add to the Klingon’s mistrust of the Romulans, thus preventing a temporary alliance that would see the Klingons getting cloaking technology? And without simple cloaking, let alone advanced cloaking, could the Klingons ever build a ship capable of disrupting peace talks with the Federation?

  • @ACKamikaze

    A lost opportunity is seeing TLE ships and TNG ships in the Kelvin design... Would Starfleet even go toward the Galaxy Class with their more turbulent timeline? Would it be more of a warship? Kelvin Starfleet is much more militaristic, so how would those ships logocslly be designed? Especially if everything is moving fast enough for a 26 year gap where things happened sooner than the Prime timeline...

    IMO, far too premature for something like the Excelsior class. The original run of Kelvin Connie's were still capital ships in the mid 23rd century, as they were less than 5 years old in ST:Beyond, let alone an uprated MK2 version.
    The Excelsior prototype was billed to be a significant step up from previous ship designs, this would have taken much field experience, time & resource for such a ship to come into fruition.
