Lovely work as always, Ed! The Komodo and adapted Sirui FFs are a great pairing. Especially in the hands of a great craftsman.
Haha thanks, they're nice, I just wish they had a bit more personality!
Making those Sirui's shine. Nice work!
Ed smashing it as always. It’s a great day when I see the blue dot by your name.
It’s here!
really nice footage! keep on doing this great work
Nice man! Love this look. I wish more of my clients/producers would let me shoot/grade this dark but they're always trying to fill in the shadows like they're afraid of them. Drives me nuts!
Haha yeah I know that feeling!
You guys make beautiful images together!
Couldn't do it without her!
Beautiful ❤️
very good ,,,😊,,, perfect video ,,,❤❤❤,,, i like video,,,❤❤❤❤❤
Nice!
i ordered the 2x adapter! ty
Nice have fun with it!
Beautiful shots.
Is this wide open? How hard is it to focus?
I think I stopped down a bit on this setup, maybe around T4 max, the Saturns are very sharp so it's fairly easy to focus and I was using a 7in monitor.
I’m curious if you did any post-adjustment to the distortion. Pleasantly little pincushion in this video for a Sirui lens.
It's on a S35 sensor which helps, but yeah I pumped in some barrel distortion and tried to grunge up the image a bit more, good spot!
Love the content! I'm curious Ed, would you consider upgrading to the Komodo X?
If money was no object then yes! At the moment I can't really justify the additional cost and still love the image the Komodo provides
Ed can you also see something strange at the distanced tower at 0:26 ?
Like what? Big foot?
@@EdProsser on my phone I see black Shadows leaning to the right 🙈😅 don't you see it?
I think it's a combination of some zoom blur / barrel distortion I added, out of focus foliage and grain being mangled a bit by the compression.
But I will also suppprt the big foot theory
@@EdProsser I with you 🙏😊
I don't know man. These modern anamorphic lenses severely lack the character they used to have. I get the clean look but somehow it just doesn't fit the anamorphics, especially when they're supposed to give the feeling that you're in some other world
It's personal preference, I love Anamorphics with lots of character but you can't shoot a lot of projects on them when they only have narrow centre sharpness etc.. I think it's a good thing we have a choice, more choice is always good. I think we will likely see more budget Anamorphics with more character in the next year or two.
Blazar still have better waterfall bokeh.
They're very different lens styles. I think the Remus look very nice, I prefer character over the sharpness of the SIRUI's - not had chance to shoot with the Remus though!
Have a few questions about whether they're good enough to shoot professionally - hopefully get my hands on some in the next month or so.
