***FIX AND RESET Cadillac Cue System***

- Truck's in the shop, and while driving my grandmothers car, I started having issues with the Cue System. Pretty simple and straight forward. This could save you a trip to the dealership.
Open Cue Door Compartment
Kill the car
Open driver door, leave open for 30-60 seconds
Close door
Close Cue door
Start car.

I was plagued for two weeks wondering when I wold bring my car in. I checked all the fuses and nothing. My Cadi SRX manual says nothing or resetting, but I knew if I looked it up I would find someone who would tell me what to do. It worked beautifully. Thanks.

Omg ur a genius. Was having a problem where it wouldn’t read my apple car play or Bluetooth. Also was not even letting me go to the audio screen every time I tried it just went black. Every other screen (climate, settings, etc) were working fine. Used this trick and it instantly worked!!! Thank you for the tip!!
I found out from a Cadillac dealership you can unplug the fuse to the radio for 30 seconds and it hard resets the que!😁

Where is the fuse located

It’s located under the left compartment that’s under the emergency break. Fuse #4 & #5 are the radio and display

Thank you so very much! It worked pefectly! I have a 2013 Cadillac ATS and for several months I was only able to listen to the radio, I could not use the navigation system or the cd player. However, I just watched this video, pull my car out of the garage and followed your instructions. Within less than five minutes, all is working. I pressed the audio button and my last CD starting blasting, which was "I Got the Victory" by Yolanda Adams. It was music to my ears. Again, thank you so much for what you do!

Good one! Its amazing how these resets etc on new cars work haha. Engineers with way to many thoughts on how to trick customers to take it to the dealership or stealership as some like to say haha
It did reset mine for about 2 minutes worked well. Ultimately, I had to replace the screen. There is a guy who posted a detailed how-to on UA-cam. I watched it many times and got the confidence I needed to do it. J’s speed shop video. Now it’s like new and the new screen is very shiny-new-penny look.
Did you replace just the screen or the entire radio? My touchscreen works for a day.

On Cadillac XTS 2019 to do reset I had to do it differently. 1. Start the car and after a few seconds turn it off. 2. Open driver door, exit the vehicle and close the door. Do not lock car!!! Do not push any buttons on remote key!!! 3. Wait exactly 5 minutes! Use timer, it must be 5 minutes, no less!!! 4. Open the door, get into vehicle, close the door and start the car. You will see a yellow circle on the screen indicating reset!
I'm a photographer at a car dealership and we got a used 2014 ATS in. Your video worked like a charm! Don't know about a long term fix but I can at least photograph the radio and other features! (Notably, the backup camera still worked when CUE had failed, so that's something at least!)

Thanks! My screen has been giving me problems and left my kids freezing in the back since I couldn't adjust it on the screen and it was locked in the back. Radio kept on changing stations and was giving me problems. I was able to reset it with the video!

Oh my gracious! While mine was still under warranty, it was freezing, flickering, etc. The dealership said they would have to replace it and if it wasn't under warranty, it would have cost $1500. It is starting to act weird again. I will try this reset method. Thanks for your insight.
Thanks this worked for my 2017 Cadillac Escalade, battery died and was going nuts and then the cue wasn’t working. This fixed it right away

Worked for me ‼️‼️‼️‼️when my steering wheel control buttons were not working radio was functioning but I could not turn it down or up or skip a song with the control buttons on the steering wheel.

This video is very awesome thank you, I had to do this on my 2014 CTS, but it's very disappointed that there are so many people here with 2016 and above that have the same problem!!! Isn't Cadillac supposed to be one of the best top of the line car?? It was frustrating but my screen kept doing it, but you know it's a known problem with these cars no matter what model is a big disappointment! But thank you I tried to hard reset an it work hopefully that's all I need to do
Here is how you fix it permanently: Replace the touch screen with a gel free screen from cuescreens.com. Never worry about it again. The reset in this video only works for software issues. The factory touch screen fails because the gel inside gets hard and evaporates and doesn't transmit touch anymore

Thank you. I wanted to use the hard reset as you described, but I did not need to after the SRX was shut off for ten minutes. I just turned the SRX on and the system was OK.
Ah! Mine was stuck for over 30 minutes. I became afraid that after a long period of time, the battery might drain.

Ok guys, here's an update!
The car screen finally bit the dust just yesterday. Dealearship replaced the computer with a refurbished one for $150. Thanks to the extended warranty.
The dealer acknowledged that this IS A KNOWN PROBLEM.
Got in the car and absolutely no screen, I showed the dealer this video and they pointed out that these are symptoms of a computer trying to go bad.

What do you mean thanks to the extended warrentee they replaced the computer with a refurbished unit for $150? I thought the warrentee is to cover you for replacing the parts with new OEM parts. And did you have to pay for the part?
@@mixhael6609 He did mention "extended" warranty which usually requires a deductible. Dealer will charge up to 1k to do this.
CUESCREENS my mother’s screen is starting to be unresponsive and kind of jumping around, like being jittery. The nav will jump to a totally different location then where I was. I hit the home button and it went back but then I couldn’t hit audio, etc. Would all I’d have to do is replace the screen with one of your screens to fix this issue, or is this a module problem and even if I put a new screen in it won’t fix it?? Please help! I don’t want her to pay 1500.
@@MinusTwoTonsils It's just the screen. Order a new one from cuescreens.com/shop and fix it permanently. Please don't pay $1,500 to the dealer, you will just have to repeat it again in a couple years. In selling over 15,000 screens, I have only seen a defective module 2 times. The factory screen design is terrible and is guaranteed to fail in 1-4 years depending on your local climate.

Yeah, ultimately the whole computer that controlled the radio. NOT the PCM.
@@almostlate just to clarify, u believe i will have to replace the cue? I replaced the pcm with a ZZ high performance pcm , do think this may have something to do with the issues I'm having with the cue?
@@cman3746 Ultimately, we had to have the cue replaced. These things freezing could be an early indicator of failure. Your results may vary of course.
Nah, I don't think you swapping out the PCM had anything to do with this. IF anything, your factory warranty is probably void now lol. Hope your past 50K miles.

@@cman3746 No- just replace the screen. I promise you that is the issue. I do this for a living. $129 for a new screen is less than what the dealer will charge for diagnostic.

Tried the process a few times - it did look like it reset it however I still have the problem of the Media and Weather selections don't work. Looks like I'm off to the dealer. I have had the CUE already replaced once this time I'm out of warranty - ikes!
