Thanks again for a lovely introduction to this real-world pathology topic. You mentioned in passing, but many forget, that ABO incompatibility is not just about blood typing. Most cells on your body express the same ABO antigens as we expect on our blood cells. And can be subject to rejection for the same reasons. A blood transfusion is a mini-transplant.
