Hello Steve I really do enjoy all the information you've been sharing on Toyota and cars in general. But my problem is my 2022 Toyota highlander xle headlights don't have an off position on the nub it has only only auto and I do like driving with the daylights on my issue is if am parked but still in the car but my engine is off the lights stays way too long before I get the notification to turn it off how do i make the lights on only when I want it on or rather how do I make stand by time much shorter? Also on the screen menu driver setting is grayed out so I don't have access to driver settings how do I fix that? Lastly my Bluetooth keeps saying mic not connected so I cant use Bluetooth how do I fix that too

@venenareligioest410 there are numerous reasons why someone would want to turn them off and it has nothing to do with the study you're talking about. I'm sitting in a parking lot waiting for my buddy to get done with his hike. I'm going to be here for hours... I don't want to blind people while parked for no reason. Also, at the drive in theater, numerous people had to turn their cars off because they couldn't figure out how to have their car running while PARKED but with the lights off so every one can see the movie... Just because YOU couldn't think of a reason doesn't mean one doesn't exist.

Just turn the blinker knob all the way off. Start at furthest one away from you, lights on. Middle is supposed to be parking, then theres the DRL. Then last one, closest to you is off completely. At least that's for the 21 Rav4. I didnt know you could go into a menu as well. Also check the owner's manual, probably has the solution.
Did they ever fix all those Toyotas driving around at night with front lights on but no rear lights?? I started seeing this regularly, that led to me figuring out I was doing it too because of a stupid switch design. One click on light wand is front lights only, so you think your car is lit up.

Mine can not. You can not turn it off anymore. Even if you cut the wire the car is blocking to drive. My brother had this done because he hated it. So there was no option for it. Not even a fuse nothing. So he tracked the wire and cut it. Then he wants to start. Nothing only an engine light and say call dealer. Problems with the engine? Wait what? Yeah if you cut the wire of the drl`s you get this 2024 new Toyota car problem. It`s forbidden to turn them off now.

You should be able to turn the knob to the off position and that will turn the running lights off. By the way, if you have LED headlights, turn them OFF during the day unless you want to spend a fortune! LED headlights and taillights have non-replaceable bulbs, so when one burns out, you'll have to replace the entire headlights assembly.
Not answering for the guy above but I have a Yaris Cross and would appreciate a guide on how to do this for that vehicle. The lamp stalk only has auto mode😢
Please add the year and model of your Toyota to your main title, so that people with different and older Toyotas don't waste their time by getting sucked in to watching half a video before you show that it won't work for them. Thanks.

I don’t know why anyone would turn them off. No criticism of you, I realize you were asked. But people, they were put on for a reason. Safety. Especially when we’re coming up on dark winter days. Visibility is so important Cars can just blend into the road, esp the grey, silver and black colours.

what if it won't allow me to turn them off, I"m in the vehicle personalization screen for 2012 Corolla but it won't allow me to turn them off.

2017 tundra don’t have this option if looking for tundra to buy please avoid the 2017 model I can never find UA-cam videos on it for many things
