    • @secretforreddit
      @secretforreddit 3 роки тому +454

      @@superlolgal555 It's not a Daniel Thrasher thing; it's just a linguistic thing. "Boris Yotsumenov" is a very Russian sounding name, and Russian uses a different set of letters than English does, called the Cyrillic alphabet. The Russian Cyrillic alphabet has 33 letters, most of which are very different from the Latin alphabet (which English uses). For example, the name "Daniel Thrasher" in Cyrillic is "Дэниел Трэшер." The idea that Hoodie Guy would be sent to train to learn the ABCs with someone whose native alphabet could better be called the "АБВ"s is funny.

      Okay, it's based on a Cold War era form of competion. To prove their superiority, the former USSR would find gifted kids and train them for high-profile international competion in chess, gymnastics, etc. How did this help the kids prepare for adult success? About as much as devoting their childhoods to alphabet-typing would. EXCEPT in Daniel Thrasher's alternate reality where the alphabet/keypad corresponds exactly with Mozart /piano keys! Now you understand the synchronicity of the Thrasher-verse. 🌌 Where all effort eventually produces beautiful music.
