Couple that with thousands already on housing waiting lists and its a disaster. Solutions ?? Introduce legislation that prevents block buying of homes for the rental sector. Introduce legislation that greatly reduces the amount of short term leasing if not banning Air BnB all together. The most important thing? Drastically limit (if not suspend) the amount of people entering Ireland for a period of five years. Appoint a minister for construction and we build like we have never built before.
No, that`s not it. It is the rigging of the housing market using the 200 billion they borrowed since 2009. If lots of people caused house prices to be high, some of the most impoverished and destitute places on earth would have sky high property prices.

If it wasn't for family, myself partner and 2 kids be homeless, the two of us both work, good jobs well, we thought that, trying to buy a house, the prices gone crazy for a average house and all you be buying is the 4 walls, this government has done nothing for my family, just tax you more and make buying a house unreachable. But they have house and home anyone arriving into the country scandalous.

Even Sinn Féin would be better than the incumbents! I am what those in FF/FG/SF refer to as the "far right" ie, a normal person. FF inflated the pre 2008 house price bubble and FG reblew that bubble with 200 billion euro of borrowed money. They, like SF, want people who don`t own these deliberalely inflated assets to pay inflated prices to maintain their precious bubble in house prices. That is what the unsuspecting migrants are to be used and exploited for. The smartest of the young Irish are getting out. If nobody pays their bubble prices, the mother of all crashes will happen and that is when houses will become affordable.
