Just on point , I started watching football when I was 6 and Del Piero was my favourite player. I started supporting Juventus, because in our country, at the time you could only watch Serie A. Year later we got Premier league broadcast, and I fell in love with United. I am still a huge United fan, and will be until the end of my life. But I respect Juve so much, and Del Piero is my favourite footballer of all time. It has all started with them. Juve had amazing team from 95 until 2010, I don't know how didn't they win more CL titles, same with United. Combined they have 5 titles, and for example Liverpool has 6. I don't remember seeing Liverpool nowhere near United or Juve in the period of 1990 - 2015.
As a Man Utd fan, funny that my all time favourite player is actually Del Piero. What a joy to watch. Any movement or skills look easy when he does it. Hell of a player.
He's one of the few players I felt bad for when France won the 2000 Euro final. I'm french and I always had huge respect for Alessandro. Plus he's a good friend of Zizou!

Del Piero and Bergkamp are probably the only great players I can think of in the past 30 years that are absolutely adored and respected by every football fan I know. There's always someone who dislikes something even about greats like Zidane, Ronaldo (the real Ronaldo) or Henry, but Del Peiro and Bergkamp are untouchable and unanimously loved. And rightfully so. ManUtd - Juve is probably one of my top 3 favorite matchups in the European football. Never a boring match between those two giants.
