Grew up going to Gulf Shores. Then started going to the Destin-PCB area as an adult and go annually with family. Taking my parents this year for their 50th anniversary!
Gulf Shores is my favorite place on the planet! Fun fact: my parents had a house on west beach on stilts right on the beach for years in my young married days. I know all the fun places to eat and go. You must go to Fair Hope Alabama some time too. It’s about an hour from gulf shores and is such a fun quaint little town!! Go eat at Mikees next time too! Yummm! Florabama is too much of a party scene for me… we shop, beach, cook, and eat out! Love it!
Girl just from the comments and online interaction we have had I know you would love it. And I (Sheila) would like to go there with you!! Girls night!!
Doing all the things. We really like the Gulf Shores area. Been there many many times (actually in Orange Beach right now) and thanks to watching you guys we have finally decided to rent ebikes and ride some of the trails. We have walked several of them, but today.....we ebike!!
Flora-Bama has been around since the 70's! It's name comes from the bar staddles the Florida and Alabama state lines, thus Flora-Bama!! It used to be a small liquor store with a tiny bar in the back.
Never really comment on UA-cam but you guys just reminded me of where I spent all my summers with my Mom and Dad. We would camp at Gulf Shores State Park. Thanks for the walk or bike ride down memory lane. Keep it up guys.
Looks like a great place to go must be you are the second UA-camr I had a video on this just this week hope you stay safe with all the storms heading your way thanks from Wisconsin getting snow up here today
Spring storms are a lot crazier in an RV than being in our traditional home! Thanks for taking the time to watch and leave a comment. We really appreciate it!
Hey James - these are the Himiway's we got right before we left we still really enjoy them. We have right at 400 miles on them so far - so fun and allow us to go more places than we could without them that's for sure!
You have hit at most the places we go to visiting our daughter in Orange beach. We were the ones a year ago that went through a hail storm there and had our RV totaled. glad you had a good time. Have to go back for the mullet toss compitition. Next time go to the Warf, has a couple good resturants and farris wheel.
Hi guys all the way from Australia! Just found your channel and you guys are hilarious! Todd has anyone ever told you that you look like Jeff Goldblum? 🤣
We’re a Gulf Shores Orange Beach fan. But then we were there with our married children and grandchildren … plus, we’ve not been to panama beach yet 😎🤣. Love how Sheila is embracing and sliding in those reminders to “do all things” 👍. Cheers from KC ~lisa b.
We're Gulf Shores people...but that's because we lived up the road in Fairhope for 10 years. They have a great arts and crafts festival in Fairhope in March that is a must see. The town is adorable, too.
Wow we spent February at Emerald Coast RV Resort. Wish our paths had crossed but maybe another day. It is a beautiful park and convenient location in PCB. Friends in the area say March is hopping with spring break. Thanks for the comparison. Safe Travels😊
We live in Panama City Beach. Chucks Dad was the first contractor at PCB to have a license to build. My family moved to PCB in 1978 and built The Ocean Opry Music Show. (Like Branson entertainment) We love our home! We're not thrilled with all the big condo take over. We used to be more Mom and Pop. It's still home and always will be. ❤️ our spring break is not a favorite. Skip March, the rest of the year is about families!! ❤️
Between Panama City and Destin there's Topsail Hill Preserve State Park which might be the most beautiful beach in the USA. With low crowds because its only State park campers and people who pay a daily use fee. Grayton Beach State Park is nice also, they are both awesome campgrounds and man-made reefs to snorkel as well. 30A and Seaside (where the movie The Truman Show Jim Carey) and the bike path that runs the entire 30A, No buildings over 4 stories near beach.
Thanks for the information, we will be going through those areas this summer. Check out Destin FL . Research Crab Island. It's a sand bar in the channel where boaters anchor out, swim, and get food and drinks from a floating bar/restaurant.
We love camping at Gulf Shores State Park and have been there multiple times, we also stayed at Big Lagoon State Park and last few times, Fort Pickens. When we were younger and children at home we would go to Panama City and in our senior years, Gulf Shores
I really enjoy the variety of places you share with us. I am sure the comparison videos are a bear to edit, but it shows us the differences! Your efforts are greatly appreciated🖖🏻🙏🏻👍🏻😘 So looking forward to April 9th! 🖖🏻🙏🏻👍🏻😘
Taxes... grrrrrrrrr!! Gulf Shores (Baldwin County) Alabama... local sales - and lodging tax applied to RV Sites... 10%. Panama City (Bay County) Florida... local sales and lodging tax... 7.5%.
How do I get text messages from you guys. My wife Debbie loves watching the videos. Thinks Todd is the bomb!! She gets them. Thanks from Phil from Detroit.
Great vlog! You covered the "Redneck Riviera" Spent my childhood summer vacations at PCB on the "miracle mile". Then my children were able to experience PCB at the mom & pop motels before the condo's came in. I believe the entire gulf coast is family friendly, but yes, spring breakers take over & its a rite of passage your senior year. Destin or Seaside are nice for couples. PCB is just tradition for me. All the things!
Great video guys so happy you were able to enjoy Gulf Shores and the area. We stayed at orange beach last summer with the family. The grandchild loved the beach and the pirate ship cruise.
We feel lucky to have a reservation at Gulf State Park later this month. We will be in Perdido Key before that. Looking forward to a bike friendly area. In Navarre now, and it is the least bike-friendly place we’ve stayed. We must be right behind you, as we also experienced severe storms and tornado warnings a few days ago.
I'm a little high energy and love to be busy almost all the time so I'm thinking Panama city. That was a cool pub/hang out at the end...great choice Todd!!
Hey Barbara our tracking information shows that it was delivered on 2/14 by USPS at the front door. Email me at SwitchCrew@goswitchitup.com please let’s figure out where it went!
Gulf Shores is more family oriented and less crowed than PBC. We have a week trip planned in June at Gulf Shores. We live in Alabama so it’s nice being a 3 1/2 hour drive. My daughter attends The University of South Alabama so we use her as a reason to go to Gulf Shores more often then PBC. We have camped at St Andrews State park which is on the bay and the jetties on the beach.
Very fun!! If you are still in the Gulf Shores area, LuLu's can be a fun place to grab lunch or dinner. It's a tiki restaurant on the inner coastal waterway that is owned by Jimmy Buffet's sister. I'm not sure if a bike path goes there. I would fly into Gulf Shores airport when doing training and would do the 1ish mile walk to LuLu's. Safe travels!!
Thanks for the comparison! We usually stay in a VRBO in Destin near Henderson Beach State Park (heading there in June). We will be there for a week so thinking we will take the top and doors off the jeep and head down to check out PCB while we're there! That is of course after we rent the pontoon boat and head to Crab Island!
That was fun! My niece lives in Moblie Alabama and she's always posting pictures of her and friends at Flora Bama I wouldn't be surprised if she was there 😊
We live in Pensacola and go to Orange Beach occasionally. We're not beach goers but like the laid back vibe when we just want to chill. I agree Destin has a lively vibe but I don't care for all the large crowds that comes with tourism. Loved the video!!!
Great video. We are heading to Florida next fall/winter, but struggling some with RV site reservations. How far in advance have you had to book for Florida, or have you winged it?
Grew up going to Gulf Shores. Then started going to the Destin-PCB area as an adult and go annually with family. Taking my parents this year for their 50th anniversary!
Love love Gulf Shores. Outgrew PCB
Another great video
This is a grate video.
Another awesome video. Thanks for sharing.
Nice review, fun video!!
Thanks Scott!
Got to vote for Gulf Shores!

Love PCB!!! But I think I need to go to Florabama! That place looks like fun!!!
Girl just from the comments and online interaction we have had I know you would love it. And I (Sheila) would like to go there with you!! Girls night!!

Guys!!! You should do a hutle down there next year!! That would be a great place
Gulf Shores is, along with Gatlinburg, our favorite place on earth.
Yet Gatlinburg is a high energy spot --- but it's one of our favorite places as well! Mark your calendar for an April Huddle in that area!!
@@SwitchItUpLife talona ridge and Gatlinburg!! Too much fun. Hopefully the forest fires didn’t do much damage earlier this week.
Hi from the EMAHIZERs!!!
We go there every year and sign our names on the awning
Very cool place!
Nice video and comparisons. We LOVE PCB so much that we bought a vacation condo there. I'm very interested in more comparisons like PCB vs Destin.
Currently sitting in our rig at Gulf Shores State Park. We must have just missed you. We just got here today. Heading to Flora-Bama tomorrow.
FloraBama. Half in Florida half in Alabama
Lol I'm just seeing this video. Damn guys we keep missing each other by like a day. I was down the beach and the Flora Bama April 2nd and 3rd.
Thanks for bringing us along!
FloraBama is Florida/Alabama, it’s located on the state line at Orange Beach, Alabama and Perdido Key, Florida
Flora-Bama has been around since the 70's! It's name comes from the bar staddles the Florida and Alabama state lines, thus Flora-Bama!! It used to be a small liquor store with a tiny bar in the back.
Doing all the things. Thank you for sharing. Hope to see you next weekend at the meetup.
We will be there! See you then
I was just at Panama Beach last week
Beautiful right??
Mexico Beach ⛱️
You 2 are like Lucy & Dezi
🤣
Cheers to great adventures! Love y’all!
Gulf Stare Park is a great park but since Covid it is hard to get in.
Very cool! My adventure had would love to shade me at either of these places!!
Never really comment on UA-cam but you guys just reminded me of where I spent all my summers with my Mom and Dad. We would camp at Gulf Shores State Park. Thanks for the walk or bike ride down memory lane. Keep it up guys.
Thank you so much for watching! We appreciate it
Another great video!
Thanks Mike!
We live in Panama City Beach and March is crazy busy, summer is too. But fall and winter is lovely!!
Just joined stayed last week in Gulfshores it is a different vib
Very calm hey what kind of bikes do you ride
Welcome to our channel!! Thanks for watching- we ride Himiway ebikes. Love them!
GREAT VIDEO!!! Your video has helped me decide of the two areas in future travels....
That's fantastic!
Definitely a Gulf shores guy. Great show 👍
Look at those sandy beaches!
So much amazing sand!
Great video! We haven't camped in Florida yet. We are thinking the Tampa show next year. Thanks for showing us around!
Oh that will be fun! We are doing a huddle in Florida in February- maybe you could join us!
This brought back fond memories of one of our favorite campgrounds: St. Andrews State Park in Panama City. Loved your video.
I'd love to get in that park sometime! Seems to be in high demand
@@SwitchItUpLife I thought you rode your bikes on the beach there last winter.
@@suejoegiachero2199 yes but we didn't get to stay in the campground in Fiona
@@SwitchItUpLife Fiona might feel a bit too cozy there. HOWEVER.the campground was supposed to be undergoing lots of upgrades.
Great vibe comparison! Since we live north of PCB. We would probably choose anywhere but here. 😀 safe travels
You guys are always so much fun. We love watching your channel. Keep being awesome...
Thank you for watching, we really appreciate it
GULF SHORES!!!
I had a homemade Bushwacker by someone from that area. SO good 👍. I think it has Kaloua in it.
Hey Polly! Thanks for stopping by!
What brand are your bikes?
Himiway - we love them they are heavy so they feel very sturdy. If you decide to get one and use the code SwitchItUp you can get $50 off.
How do you like your new bikes?
Hey James - these are the Himiway's we got right before we left we still really enjoy them. We have right at 400 miles on them so far - so fun and allow us to go more places than we could without them that's for sure!
Which Himiway does Sheila ride?
The Step Thru cruiser
That kid named Blaze is my brother.
So is your name Maddox? Maddox and Blaze I think your parents win for coolest names award! Thanks for stopping by our channel!
Nice orientation video. Very odd that the two of you would find different locations the place you would enjoy most. Crazy!
Bizarre right lol
Hey we are here!
Are they the same bikes as before? They look larger.
These are the same ones we started with. Thanks for sticking around all this time with us!
Wanted to say, love the reviews. We’ve been to Panama City beach and love it. I’m wanting to get to gulf shores Al.
Thank you Janet! Hope you to to Gulf Shores and Orange Beach area
More places to add to the travel adventures..... thanks for the tips and comparisons
You are rubbing it in. We got our Himiway bikes this winter and waiting for the snow to be gone. Have fun.
Welllll we didn't mean to rub it in lol but seriously riding the bike on the beach in the winter is pretty stinking amazing! 🤣🤣🤣

I missed it…..what was name of Panama City RV park
Emerald Coast RV Park - thanks for watching Diana!
Loved this video… St. Andrews st park is awesome and quiet regardless of the season.
Great tip!
I want to lose track of the day of the week 🤣 I love
the beach. That is a great place to lose track and just enjoy. Enjoyed the video.

Isn't half the bar closed on Sunday because of AL/FL liquor Laws?
Great question -----that does make sense but we are not sure. Thanks for coming along for the journey!
@@SwitchItUpLife It is located in two different State with two different State Liquor Law. I think half the bar has to close on Sunday?
Another GREAT video, the comparison gives us great insight on two new areas to check out. The amount of bike of trails is outstanding !!
Check out Fairhope Al it’s an Artist community, a really different vibe.

Ahh, the beaches, ocean and sunshine, so much nicer than PA currently is, so envious!
