I'd love to see you do a 'what I eat in a day/week' would be great for inspiration for people with IBS
Thank you for being so open. I struggle with IBS too and it's been good to hear other tips. Stay safe & well. x
I have IBS also and it’s nice to hear someone else talk about it and “normalize” it in a way ❤️
Amelia, something that helps my husband is massaging his digestive track after eating. Good luck, glad you're making progress!
I had never heard of SIBO until a couple weeks ago. I watch Sarah’s Day on UA-cam and her boyfriend, Kurt, was just diagnosed. Thank you for sharing your story! You’re so strong ❤️
Amelia, you're such a sweetie for sharing your health journey. It seems only now that medicos are discovering what a huge impact gut health has on so much of our day to day lives. Best wishes ♥️
yes it's true! lots of love xx
Just wanted to mention, seeing your social media, you look so happy and radiant the past 8 months or so :) it is inspirational for me to look for this glow of content, self nurturing and positive energy.
Never heard of this before but I learnt so much within this video alone! You are so strong ❤️
thank you so much for talking about bloating and body confidence!!! it’s something i struggle with everyday, so seeing/hearing someone be honest about it really does help. Love you! Xx 💖
So glad it helped thanks Katherine!!
Fantastic video babe and I learned so much so thankyou! X
You are so strong, Amelia. Sending you many many hugs. 💛💛💛
I was wondering when you would do an update on this but thank you so much for sharing! I’ve had similar issues and only decided to see a specialist once I saw your previous video on this. I’ve come a long way since then and I finally have something to work with. Thank you so much for sharing, I hope this inspires other people to continue looking into these issues and start healing ❤️
I have IBS and there were so many points in here that were helpful, and I've had it for 24 yrs... so thank you 😊
Biggest hugs ever. Wishing you a really lovely day. Stay safe 🙏 ❤
Thank you so much for this video. My daughter and I literally empathize with you. We suffer terribly too. We love you Amelia xx
Aww sending you love xx
Thank you so much for sharing beautiful lady! 💕 your honesty as always is so inspiring and I am so glad you are feeling a little better 💕
Thank you for sharing! You look healthy which means you take good care of yourself :)
I’m also having some digesting problems the past year, so hearing you talk about it helps!
Thanks for your update. I’m currently on an elemental diet for methane dominant SIBO, so I definitely feel your pain. It can be overwhelming and daunting to battle SIBO, but you’re doing a fantastic job dealing w/ everything. I totally agree w/ you that a big piece of the SIBO puzzle for a lot of people is stress. At first, I found it hard to adapt to my new normal, but I think a positive mindset has helped me shift out of feeling like I was doomed for life. I hope you’re coping well, feeling better, and being kind to yourself. 💜
Hello... May I ask, did the elemental diet help you?
A big big hug for u lovely girl!♥️thank u for always making me feel better about my IBS! Thank u for always keeping it real and remind me im not the only one!♥️ u thought me how to take a control over my IBS and I can’t thank u enough for sharing ur journey so that I could realize how or what to do!! u r note alone with the body confidence love! Im struggling too! So a big big hug and a massive thank u Amelia♥️♥️♥️
omg you're too kind! Lots of love xx
I related so much to everything you said. I’m GF, well so far that is what I’ve been diagnosed with but I think it might be more than that. Thank you for sharing I feel so much less alone. I totally know what you mean about it being so much more than just your stomach being bloated. ❤️❤️ needed to hear this so much right now!
Ah im so glad I hope it helps xxx
I was diagnosed with GF as well and feel like it's a lot more than that I am so glad that people are talking about it
I have stomach problems but not as serious as yours and I really feel like your doing so well! I'm really proud of you x
Love you Amelia, I get bloating too due to IBS and intermittent diarrhoea. It’s truly awful when it flares up. Thank you for your honesty. Xxx
I feel for you and thank your for sharing!
I have battled for years with stomach issues which after 9 years is still undiagnosed properly but what I didn’t know about as SIBO and I have a lot of those symptoms so going to research more about this topic.
big hugs lovely 🥰
Thank you for the tips and the video! Sometimes you feel alone with these kind of issues and this helps lots!
Thank you for sharing, lots of love and light to you🌸
Thank you so much for this video! You are so incredibly inspiring ❤️ stay strong
I was just diagnosed with SIBO and am on antibiotics now and then will go on the SIBO diet. Thank you for making this video, so helpful 😘
So interesting never heard of SIBO , I have IBS and intolerance to some foods. Always bloated and always need a wee🙈 too much information. Thankyou for sharing and I’m going research for myself xx
Haha never too much info!!
Me too
So much love for you talking about this. So much of what you said makes sense and not just for anybody with digestive issues. Particularly the parts about trying to have meals in a relaxed environment rather than rushed or stressed. I think eating on the go and not taking time for meals is something a lot of people do in the UK and it’s not a good thing.
I agree Anna! I honestly wasn't aware I was doing it before vivamayr!! x
Hi Amelia, my daughter and I wish you good health. I used to suffer for 15 years and ended up having multiple surgeries, I can relate. xx ❤️🌸
Thank you so much for sharing. I don't suffer from SIBO or IBS but I have plenty of health issues and your sharing about self confidence, naturopathic medicine and how you cope just speaks to me because it's very much my journey. I know this will help a lot of people so thank you for your courage and bravery!
Thanks so much!
Thank you for being so honest and for giving so many suggestion on what to wear :) I struggle myself with very bad bloating and I never wear dresses because everything I own makes me feel "exposed", if it makes sense. I'll try to follow your recommendations, thank you sooo much!!
Thanks for this video. I found it really useful - I have ibs but it’s not anywhere near what you endure. I’m so sorry you have had to suffer like this.
I feel you! trying to avoid gluten+dairy+sugar is extremely hard but hopefully soon this won't be an extreme as people get more aware of health issues this trio causes!
You are sooo cool Amelia. Have been following you for years now and have seen through soo much and owned it and thrived. 👏🙌
That's so sweet of you thanks lovely!
I’m glad you found your balance! I’d heard about that clinic in Austria, right? I hope you’ll be able to go back soon. I had my IBS under control, and then I hit my late 40’s, and everything went out of control. The doctors were not any more helpful than they were when I was 19. So, on my own I figured out it was the change of my hormones, and this was a big stress to my system, and flared my IBS and food allergies. I started gaining weight, but I was actually eating less due to problems with digestion. I started taking enzymes which helped a lot. I had already been taking acidophilus. More research...so intermittent fasting totally works for me. I’m less sensitive to spicy food. I give my body 16 hours of no food which allows full digestion and a boost to immunity, due to that time of not eating. Plus, all of the food I buy now is organic. I’m American, and I think my body is also sensitive to how food has been manipulated. I’m an omnivore, but I eat more fish because it’s my preference, and it’s easier to digest. Rice had always been my safe food, but over time, I found I no longer was. I haven’t had rice since January. If I had a bit of an upset (it’s been months since) I have bone broth with a bit of apple cider vinegar and ginger. This is a better option than white rice. Anyway, good luck on your journey!
Thanks for your honesty
Thanks for putting this out there..xx
Thank you so much!!!! for sharing this It helped me a lot!! I have IBS and most of the time I feel like crapp It so hard and you can understand it at all thank You Amelia Love you!
I have IBS and a "lazy" stomach (paresis - a light case) and sometimes digestion is a real struggle. While I was obsessing over it, it was getting worse. Now, I just know what -most of the time- my stomach and gut want and I do the best I can. Diets haven't really changed much, I avoid some foods, but my flare ups are sometimes out of the blue. So, I live with it, I try not to care too much and I am happy it is not something worse. Lots of love ❤️
Thank you Amelia for the info. I have IBS too and it's great to research for myself.
All you say makes so much sense! Eating to me was always something intimate! I never liked eating with people I don‘t like or with strangers! I‘s not the same! I can’t enjoy it as I would among family or friends! Also I would never go and eat with a first date! Also no tv! We use dinner time to get together and tell each other what we did etc. Lots of love and all the best on your health journey 🥰
I admire your passion to b the best you and love yourself well! Thanks for sharing🌺🌺🌺🌺
I can’t stress enough seeing a functional medicine doctor!! Most western doctors don’t know how to treat this things. I have talked to many people who had all these issues, and by seeing a functional medicine doctor they were able to reverse all or at least most of their major health issues!!
Thanks for sharing. Glad to know I am not alone :(
Thank you so much for talking about it. I have celiac and I relate to a lot of your story and the trauma that it brought.
can you please please film a what i eat in a day video , it would me sooooo helpful !!!!
biggest hugs !💙
I have ibs too avoiding coffee and beans really helped me but same thing happens with me after eating meals I cannot do anything keep sharing your journey Amelia
Thank you angel xxx
Thanks for sharing Amelia! Sending you some 💕💕💕!
Sending lots of love back! xx
I can identify with you so much. I have had IBS and gluten intolerance since I was 21. I am now 62. I can’t remember when I did not have some issue with my gut. The symptoms have evolved and changed over the years. The process of accepting the diagnosis and living with the diagnosis takes a long time. Just about the time you think you have figured out a way of living with the condition life happens and symptoms change and another cycle of coping begins. Fodmap diet helps, but is very challenging to adhere to. Exercise helps. A calm life helps, but is totally unrealistic especially for Type A personality. What works is taking everyday, doing your best to eat well, staying away from trigger foods, BREATH, and try to be good to oneself. Keep trying to find what helps YOUR symptoms.
Thank you for sharing Amelia. Acupuncture is amazing...
Thank you, Amelia! Very good tips for eating for any person actually that has stress in their lives 💜💜💜
Thank you so much Amelia ❣️ 💐 👍 💓✨
Amelia you are a lovely person , I watch you all the time. Your friend Jack has a lovely grandma Regina who I spoke to this morning. XXX
Thank your for sharing. I’m going to talk to my doctor, I have very similar symptoms did not know it had a name. Thank you again❣️
Hope it helps! xx
You’re so amazing! So far you’ve come! Congratulations on all your success. You deserve the best. ❤️
You need to be an Ambassador for TROPEAKA! Thank you for sharing! 😉😘

Well said. Less is better. Less stress.
Thank you for sharing! I’ve suffered from IBS for about 5-6 years now and it truly takes forever to diagnose sometimes. I was also treated for SIBO at the beginning of my diagnosis because I researched a lot. A lot of what you shared resonates with me. It’s a hard heath issue to deal with because it isn’t always apparent to others what’s going on and it’s not always easy to understand. Being your own heath advocate is truly one of the best things you can do for yourself!
The gut is our second brain - you're on to something :) I hope things keep improving and best wishes.
I have it too :( Seeing your videos makes me feel less alone.
I've struggled with IBS for about 14 years-ever since the stress of my freshman year of college. Only this year have I realized that for me, it's mostly a physical manifestation of my anxiety. I started doing daily yoga on June 1 and my IBS symptoms are about 95% gone!
@@she2li I do Yoga with Adriene on youtube! I started with her 30 day Home program last month and this month I'm doing Yoga Camp.
Love you so much!!!!!
love you!!
Thanks so much, I have just been diagnosed with ibs and Sibo and I’m having such a hard time adjusting. I have a very stressful job so it’s even more hard to hear just relax. I love you talking because it’s so emotional to me. I feel like nobody understands and I don’t have the energy to try. If you have tips for simple food (I live in Costa Rica and we don’t have that many options)
Pamela! Sending you so much love! Vivamayr told me to eat as much whole food as I can so anything in its full form like vegetables, fruits etc :) The less processed the better is what they said! xxx
@@amelialiana Thank you!
Sending you a big hug! Thanks for sharing this information with us. Is SIBO genetic? Does your sister suffer from SIBO too? You always look beautiful and your vlogs helped get me through the social isolation stages of COVID.
For people with IBS, something that really helped me digest all types of food better is blond Psyllium (organic). Look it up!
This is so informative, Amelia. I didn't even know that such condition exists. Thank you so much for sharing. By the way, have you tried drinking Yakult every single day? That might help you.
Thank you lovely, so glad you liked the video! I have actually but contains quite a bit of sugar xx
I’m currently on the reintroduction phase of the low FODMAP diet (4 months in...) and anyone who is trying this diet, pleeeease do not do the elimination process for more than 8 weeks as it can harm your gut bacteria and do more damage than good. Thank you for speaking about your journey Amelia ❤️ xx
hope to see more podcast episodes soon!!
💪 Big hugs! 😘💕
💖💖💖So helpful✨✨✨
Hey Amelia! I understand this is your story (and I’m not saying that alternate therapy shouldn’t be talked about) but in an age of doctor/science skepticism I really wish you would have put a caveat to try encourage people to still seek traditional medical attention (in addition to alternative medicine). Again, understand this is your story and it is difficult enough without thinking about a million things like that. Regardless I am glad that you are doing better 🧡
Did you listen, she said she tried that first and nothing helped, that's when people find "alternative" therapies, hence the name. Don't you know that most medicine derives from old therapies?
@@rattylol with respect I think you've misinterpreted my criticism. As I said, there is nothing wrong with discussing alternative therapy and there is obviously a place for it where traditional medicine fails. I just think messaging is important here, and I wouldn't want someone to stumble on the video and completely rule out consulting with doctors/relevant health care professionals because of anecdotal experience.
We should trust science. Only a small percentage of a population it's actually diagnosis with celiac disease, we have to be careful on what's actually exposed on the social media.... Gluten free its a huge market profit for countries like USA and UK. Do your homework and trust your medical provider.
@@anaevora3205 unfortunately the science is not there on a lot of these conditions yet, hence medical practitioners do not have proven treatments for patients that work. It's actually a rather beautiful, complimentary system where alternative medicine passed down generations and cultures has it's place - just like a physiotherapist or dietician have their place.
Traditional medicine hasn’t caught up to the demand of sibo help.
Pleaseeee make more videos every week 🙏
I understand you because i have similar problem and gluten is impossible to avoid here where I live
On the back of your vlog about your journey with SIBO I went to find a book because of some similar ups downs in GI territories. I found a small dense paperback cutely titled ‘The Bloated Belly Whisperer’ by Tamara Duker Freeman ,pub- St.Martins Griffin ,not expensive €18.95.. reading it all week, post it’s plastered front to back. She said similar about overdoing it on supplements herbs etc- they can’t be absorbed when you have inflammation. Lots more- she covers upper abdominal (stomach) and lower abdominal ( intestines) forms of bloating ,all the causes, treatments, diets, medications, tests, symptoms, recipe plans ,samples. So,thank you for putting the time and thought into posting this personal account of SIBO. I had been putting my health self check on the back burner .
Those who live in suppression have more stomach and gut problem this what I heard from one psychologist and when I think about it was so true. I used to have some abdominal problem but after some very serious stress which I took after my studies I became chronic constipated because of lots of stress. Please don’t have stress it is cause of many diseases.
I have celiac and have been gluten free for 12 years. I have no choice in remaining gluten free- i get sick and it damages my intestional track. I also have IBS and leaky gut. Good luck to you in your health journey- not easy!
I know how you feel, was diagnosed with SIBO a couple of years ago now and about a year ago, after a year of antibiotics, fodmap/keto dieting, and repeated testing, I was informed that my form of SIBO is resistant to treatment, so on top of two autoimmune diseases(celiacs/crohns) I also have SIBO to manage. I was very depressed at first, but like you I now don't take the tests and when I feel the familiar symptoms of a SIBO flare up, I call my doctor in order to get a round of meds to assist me in managing things. For the most part I manage my SIBO similarly through a carefully cultivated diet as well as other healthy lifestyle tools like regular physical activity, proper sleep, etc...
What are your least problematic carbs, veg/fruit. Carrot, squash, apple?
I had the same symptoms BUT i am a celliac pt Being 100% gluten free helped me ALOT...not easy but i have to after suffering for many years ...also i found out that i was allegic to rice too 😕....anyway feeling way better now🙏🏻 stay strong♥️
I feel you and relate to you a lot! I have IBS, diagnosed as a teen and it wasn't a problem to me on the daily but almost 3 years ago (in my begining of my thirties) I had pretty bad IBS "attack" with other some kind of germ and that left me traumatized for life. had bloating, lower stomach constant pain, lack of appetite, nausea and many more symptoms for months. I left the house only for work because I was scared to leave not knowing what will happen with my stomach and pain. I switched doctors because they thought I was being dramatic about my IBS . with diet for a few months given from naturopath my body healed eventually (took over a year). there are some foods I still avoid and I still pay attention to what I eat 3 years later. I try to eat gluten free mixed with some gluten food (some of the gluten free food in shops has ingredients that are bad for me so its difficult for me to switch completely) and not eating at night.
ah im so glad to hear you healed! And interesting about eating at night too :) lots of love xx
what diet was that?
Go back to you first love horses. Take something time and ride. Being around horses is healing. Your would be wonderful as a therapeutic riding teacher. I have watched you since you visited Dallas, TX. I was at the meetup. I enjoy your channel. Thanks
I had the same... and at the end it was fructose and a lack of stomach fluids and stomach enzyms. But fructose made all te different. I stopped eating 'healthy' or what everyone says it is healthy, and i lost one size straight away by just being deflated. Have you ever tried this? I had no proper intolerance, but it was just toooo much with all the fruits, and veg, and juices. Now after six month I feel healthier than ever.
It's not about eating" healthy " It's about actually eating real foods everyones should eat real Whole Foods and Count your macros and track your calories
i can't wait to start getting grey hairs so i can start dyeing my hair like yours
I’ve just been diagnosed with SIBO and have researched and researched and I desperately didn’t want antibiotics and so I have started the Carnivore diet. Only been on it for one week and already I’m feeling the benefits... it’s been so amazing to get some relief.
Hi .. hope you see this .. can you pls tell me how did you get diagnosis of SIBO? Is there any test for this ?
Amelia, you may know this already; please consider high intensity exercise often floods the body with the stress hormone cortisol, which could be exacerbating the SIBO. Although you might get an “exercise high”, it could actually be a flight or fight response. This happens for a lot of people, although not everybody. Exercising without reaching that high intensity could be better for you. Sorry if this is unsolicited advice 😊, I just feel it could help you.
I used to have really bad IBS flare ups for years and years. Until I stopped the pill. All it took for my flare ups to stop was to stop the pill. It was almost immediate. I have not changed anything at all apart from that. Today, I can eat whatever I want without being scared of having a flare up. I am not the only one, if you check online you’ll see. I think it’s important to spread the word.
I think you're right! when my SIBO was at its worst I was on the pill and after doing some research I came off! It has such an effect on my body we aren't alone!!
Amelia Liana aawww Amelia! I am so happy you feel better! And seriously someone needs to speak up about this pill thing! Thanks for sharing!
I am convinced from my own experience with what was diagnosed as IBS, that IBS is very influenced by hormones, so the contraceptive pill is likely to be an issue for some women. I suffered very badly in the perimenopause, for about 4 -5 years. Once in actual menopause, IBS has all but disappeared, with no other change to my diet or stress levels. Most clinicians and alternative practitioners talk about diet and stress-reduction in relation to IBS but seldom hormones (despite far more women than men being affected).
This is a revelation. It has taken me 6 years of doctors visits to finally get a blood test to rule out all the ones it wasn’t. I felt very down when I was told what it wasn’t as I just wanted to get it sorted. Finally, a doctor says it must be IBS by default with me knowing more than he did! I’m vegetarian by choice but I am gluten and lactose free because it started to help my body.
Over lockdown I stared to take the digestive plus powders from Arbonne and all the bloating has nearly gone to an extent that I feel confident in wearing clothes that don’t float over my tummy. The powders are not a solution but they definitely have something in them that agrees with my body.
I find eating out an issue and have made to feel really awkward about what I can’t eat. I have been known to tell a server that this is not something I have by choice and imagine a menu where you can only eat maybe one thing! I got really emotional when I went into a cafe and I had a choice of milk alternatives and things I could eat and I apologised for getting emotional and had to explain what a revelation it was to be able to go somewhere and not to have to interrogate the serving staff and be able to pick something off the menu like I had been able to do before.
My other half says I sleep all the time and I didn’t even think about this as being connected.
Our food shop has increased in price as the ‘special food’ is so expensive and all seems to be high in sugar.
Thank you for making this video, i can imagine your day to day struggles and I wish I could make it all disappear. Sending you much love and virtual hugs.
I have SIBO as well for so many years now. Have you tried or heard of Megasporebiotic? Im currently taking it and it’s promising. I also recently got Foodmarble which is a device you blow into and it tells you your hydrogen gas levels, similar to the SIBO breath test, but you can use it anytime like after a meal to see how your body reacts to certain foods. It’s been helpful to help me keep track of my progress.
don't know if you already know that but there's also a useful app called SIBO which references all the food you can and shouldn't eat and all the in between, quite useful for when you're grocery shopping-out at a restaurant etc
Thank you for sharing! Ugh the longest I can chew is 10! Im like you normal 3-4 chews max! Haha! I appreciated the info in this vid!
Yes it’s stress!! Covid has me stressed
Hi Amelia greetings from California ❤️
Hi
yes. yes. yes. same!
Can you recommed a Naturopath or an accupucturist in London? I have always wanted to see one, but don't know who to go to.
Hi Amelia, the doc suspecting IBS for me, as my symptoms are matching, had some tests around it. What tests you recommend to ask for & do you follow the lowFODMAP diet? I found it hard tho. Loving the shroom 😊
I have an app on my phone called SIBO info and it tells me about different foods and which ones to eat :) I found sticking to low fodmap especially in the evening helped so much! Good luck my love xx
Amelia,
I would love to go to the Viva Mayr clinic!
I have been listening to Dr Olivia Naturals on UA-cam and she has a video on SIBO.
I have IBS and I take probiotics and peppermint oil for it. I also take an anti-anxiety medicine for my anxiety and that has worked wonders for my IBS too, my gastro has recommended I try it awhile ago and I wish I tried it sooner!
