Interesting move. I hope 1221 doesn't go back to storage or some other part of the line. Like seeing her working. Always happy to see green Freddy. Thanks for sharing. 👍
4 engines and 43, mostly empty cars ??? 1 locomotive for every 11 cars? 😂 Perhaps they are taking some of the locomotives in for maintenance? Or maybe to the paint shop to get them all the same color? (Yeah right) E.L.S. can't afford to fix their rails, much less paint the locomotives.
It might be as simple as a power move. They may have had a crew out-of-place thanks to the derailment and wound up with more power up north than needed when second set showed up. It has been cool to see the SD9 rolling and working along the north part of the railroad. I hope we see it more in the days ahead on a regular basis. No doubt that it's a classic engine and great to watch.
Years ago my brother and I were watching the CP Rail transfer entering Island Yard with three MLW RS-23's, 1000 HP, we thought the usual length to be shocked as was close to 150 cars. I took pictures as wished I had a video camera. you never can know by power but could be a bigger train to go North . Thank you.
A nice broadside to start it off then at the second Crossing that was the fastest I've ever seen them accelerate. No mistake about the 1221 doing its part to help propel this train. 44 cars total and over half were empty. It looks like they made a later stop to pick up the tank car and several loads as the first part have been made up and sitting at Channing already. With the long holiday weekend and all the power on one end every unit probably got work done over four days. By Crivitz they'll probably send 12:21 and 502 back north while the other two continue on to Green Bay. The pole at Highway O was enjoying the sunshine add those small covered hoppers may have been sitting awhile because there is almost no graffiti on them. Certainly more fun than the power moves on Virtual Rails
4 Loco's. They probably don't need the power, most likely they will lose 1221and 502 in Crivitz. 501 and 503 will continue south to get the LP delivered. 1221 and 502 will most likely build a train to head back north to Alter and then LP with scrap, pulp, glue and possibly some more center beams. I wouldn't be surprised if you see a train later or in the morning headed north. Either way, it will make for a great video now that all 4 are working after the derailment and now playing catch up. Time will tell and I'm sure you will film as much as you can for us! Thanks Jason.
The only reason I can think of for four locomotives besides picking up more cars is maybe they need to move those locomotives to use elsewhere and will split them up for other trains. I hope this does not mean the end of seeing ES 1221 SD 9. Reminds me of footage I have seen out west of Union Pacific trains moving long loads with seven or eight locomotives. Perhaps your best shot of the County O broken pole crossing.
Are you going to catch’m coming north tomorrow to get an engine count, I’m wondering if the rear two will be caught on your videos the next week or two, rear two may be headed for a 92 day …👍
Jason have you heard of Neo Wilson Railroad? I just came upon this building project that Paul Wilson is doing in memory of his dead son. The only steam locomotive in the UP. Might be a nice fluff piece for you.
@@erie910 They normally run them single or in pairs. Jason sez all four are running but 'prolly only the first two are pulling and not connected to the 2 lead locos except brake air line,.
Hmmm, if they had 4 engines up north, what kind of power did they have down south? Did 502 breakdown while up north? Would've been nice if the train was longer.
Nice and peaceful country living, trains too👍.
The appetite for lumber in Florida is unbelievable.Their carving up the woods and they wonder why they flooded from all the rain.
Looks like 90 Lb. Stick rail. The old head ACL conductor told me the rail was 39 feet long so it would fit in a gon.
That was one awesome latch up of those 4 engines, now ELS looking like a Class 1 RR. Jason, thanks for catching this train, Job well done, my friend.
Great shots.. Yeah quite rare to see that much power on this line....
I think that's the last cut of grainers in storage. It's harvest time.
4 Locos, that crazy Lol.
Interesting move. I hope 1221 doesn't go back to storage or some other part of the line. Like seeing her working. Always happy to see green Freddy. Thanks for sharing. 👍
Nice to see all four engines together.😲
lovely to see ELS 501 and 502 out today, along with 1221
45 cars today.
2 for Green Bay, 2 to return north.
thats alot of power for a little train
Too much. lol

Wow, that is an unique picture!

That was indeed it - all the power bunched up in Channing. Had nothing to do with train size.
I like the patina of the old orange engine!! That and it unusual shape make it eery! 😅😅😅
SD9 built for Reserve Mining in 1955.

It's kinda cool but it's only a transfer of power great video thanks Jason
Power move. Those 16 Dowell-Shlumberger sand/cement cars were probably coming out of storage.
I’m enjoying this with all the Locomotives pulling 40+- cars! Saw your short clip yesterday!
Thanks Jason, really enjoyed your video
I enjoyed that video👍👍
Great Video Jason

Nice views, Jason.
Just shy of 12,000 hp...........maybe some kind of power move 🤔? Or maybe to help the new trackage from the last derailment settle into the ballast 🤔?
10,750. The SD9 is only 1,750 when new. Likely is less with a tired generator & tired traction motors
Big shout out for all the Canadian A,'s lol. Not heard here much anymore! Lol
good train video
What's good Jayson I been wondering where you been I been looking for your videos!
Anyone know about ELS 400? I saw it about a month ago sitting in Pembine. It looks good and I think is the only unit painted in ELS colors.

Maybe they need all that power 'cause they're practicing for when they grow into a much, much longer train.🤣🤣🤣
What is the longest train you ever caught on this Railroad
Any update with the old Conrail GP38-2 that has been missing in action??
Has been parked in dead line for months in Wells. Those in the know have shared it has a severely damaged push rod.
Cool video “aye “😊😊😊😊😊😊
Probably a power move? Maybe they'll set one, or two out at Pembine or Crivitz? That's my guess.

Hmm. They're up to something.....
I'm bad 45 cars.
10,750 hp all together
@@train_chicken6143 close, isn’t that 9 a 1750?
@@mshum538 yeah oops
Maybe one or several are dead heading to another location along the line. We're all four under power?
Power move for maintenance?.

Is that every locomotive in the ELS fleet?
Why so far away???
I used to count train cars in the 1960s. 120 cars were average but i don't remember how many engines were used but its pretty flat in our area.
hows your garden doing
Tomatoes are starting to turn red finally, peppers all picked. A few carrots and beets left yet, and squash.
Maybe dropping off a couple for service
Simple, all 4 aren't running, moving 2 of them to a different location.
All 4 were definitely running as noted at CTH O
Did you find out how many were running
All 4 running at CTH O
Only 2 were running, maybe extra 2 going South for their 92 day inspection
Jason sez all 4 locos were running...
All 4 might be running, but 2 or 3 might be isolated, and therefore not pulling. It would waste fuel for all to be loading.

Any DownGrades that might require DynamicBrakes?
Wonder if the dynamic brakes still work? 🤔
Some
@cris_261 yes
Hmmm, if they had 4 engines up north, what kind of power did they have down south? Did 502 breakdown while up north? Would've been nice if the train was longer.
Power transfer, maybe?
None down south, it was a power move to balance power out. Derailments mess up plans. Things will be back to normal... until next time...
No power down south.
Or just a Power Transfer?
To make sure that those hopper cars or empty.Stick your finger between the springs As shoe string would say
