I like so much how John presented it .. that those on GOD's side, overcomers/conquerors was triumphant primarily BY THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB. (Rev 12:11 Our brothers conquered him by the blood of the lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they did not cling to their lives even in the face of death. ) It was not the overcomers' effort, but it was what CHRIST did ON THE Cross that made them triumphant. The Enemy or the DEFEATED FOE.. whose defeat was already emphasized from Rev. 1-11 and was summarized in chapter 12 has no hope of winning the battle. The enemy's going off (aperchomai in Greek. or went away, depart) was already an indication of his admittance of defeat. Chapter 13 tells us his last resort by calling his allies ( sea beast and land beast) to make war, or to exercise or expose their transgression with the "remnant" or end time people of God (conquerors , sealed or already marked) Chapter 13 was an exposure of the counterfeit system (DRAGON-gave authority to HIS IMAGE the sea beast and-ANOTHER BEAST who exercise the power of the sea beast) Satan set up against the GODHEAD (FATHER gave authority HIS SON and ANOTHER Comforter the Holy Spirit who exercises the power of the SON).. Sometimes the activities of the Dragon was over emphasized (papacy, America and sunday law) that most often overshadows the prophecy (the actions of GOD past and future) laid by GOD for his people to confidently claim that HIS promises was TRUE from the beginning ( Rev 13:8 All those living on earth will worship it, everyone whose name is NOT written in the Book of Life belonging to the lamb that was slaughtered from the foundation of the world. ) which was given CLEAR distinction.
