Smoky, peppered, flavorful blend in an enhanced flake form…I like it. SPC Plum Pudding has a huge following and many would weep if it were no longer available. :)
I've been exclusively a Captain Black man all my life until this year. Just tried plumb pudding & I'm addicted! So good! I love how the flavor changes during a bowl! All great tastes! Bought a pound of it!
I’m not sophisticated enough to pick up all those nuanced flavors, but all I taste is mmmmmmm goodness in this blend.

Great review that captures the enhancement. Looks like the Plum Pudding Special Reserve cut into flakes....sort of like sliced bread vs buying a loaf. I loved Plum Pudding Special Reserve cake as a smooth, mild but flavourful blend. It's one of those blends that is a treat. The orientals give it a very smooth, sweet, mild, woody flavour. The Latakia and Orientals take centre stage but the Perique gives it a nice balance. It's perfect.

Band-aids! You nailed the description of a smell I pick up in a lot of blends. Better description than leather tanning chemicals. I’m a fan of SPC Plum Pudding Special Reserve Flake and during the summer it pairs very well with iced coffee made with a dark roast like Cafe du Monde, cream and no sugar 😋
I really like it. It tastes a little smoother to me. But then again it's probably the blend I smoke the most. Good stuff!

just finished my first tin of standard plum pudding, its my first trip into english balkan blends and I loved it. It was my first non aromatic blend. Intentionally saved two bowls for when i opened the special reserve. I note a greater smoothness and touch less peppery and touch less of the sour in the reserve blend. Reserve also seems to have slightly less nic hit though both are not high. I almost like the original better after the first week of having both. don't know if thats due to the greater age on the original but thats only about three months. Am I way off in this judgement, or close to your thoughts?
