    Using the axe and throwing the club for proper release is great and when you let your lead heel come off the ground the chain is activated and man the clubhead speed to the target is bliss. Ty shawn Clement and company.

    I pause. I started 5 months ago. What’s helped me is the pause. I played hockey for over twenty years and in back swing I feel like I’m on skates I get that pressure in inside of back ankle. Also starting down I feel like pushing of skates and turn like I would a hockey shot

    Shawn, I would love for you to do a video about the origins of your teaching methods. You’re one of the few teachers out there that I have seen that teaches what I would call position -less golf. So many other teachers out there teach everything in position format, “put a left wrist here right arm there left big toe here, etc. etc.. “ I would be fascinated to learn where your unique methodology comes from, and if/how it has evolved for you over time. If you do have a video like that, could you reply with the title of it? Thanks!

    I’ll never forget 😂 being at a group lesson with Shawn down in Naples Florida a few yrs back and he was having us do club throws. One of the guys in the group was handed Shawn’s personal 7I or 6I back when he was with Nike (can’t recall exact club). This guy proceeds to forget to let go of the club at release and chucks Shawn’s club up and behind him right into the lake. Luckily we I believe fished it out but man that was freaking unforgettable.
    Moral of story don’t forget to release the club. It’s not uncommon for a first time club thrower to have the club end up behind them or coming down on top of their head. You will be shocked where you think you release the club at and where you actually release the club at

    “Golden timing” just the odd time when I try to get that extra out of it, there goes my Timing! Need to get some drills to prevent the swing from getting out of time, and still gain those extra yards of carry? Great video once again Shawn, like the studio shots and the clean look even though “Cobra” is on site.

    Proof is in the pudding, 58 years old and hitting it time after time over 300, I did that last year in 52 degree weather, so I know it's possible, and I'm 62, but usually it's 225 to 275 and fairly straight most of the time, but I am going to try your methods and see what happens, I'm optimistic!

    Ok, I have watched a number of your videos and followed the Golf Test Dummy review of your swing. I took what I have picked up to the range yesterday and spent a full practice round employing your methods (to the degree that I am able). I have to say when I sent the ball toward the target with good weight and load and settle I was very impressed. I don't think I am turning my back to the target to quite the degree you suggest but it was literally the first time I ever tried it. I worry about consistency, I think the driver is accurate enough as long as I get it right, the irons seemed to move quite a bit as far as direction. I am very intrigued but I am also too old to start down another youtube rabbit trail to poor golf. Tell me this is real and I can sort it all out by figuring out my ball positions and grip and developing this skill better? I love this game but I have struggled with it forever I want desperately to play well. Sorry for the rambling just frustrated I guess.

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  Рік тому

      1-you are not defective
      2-you can’t do anything wrong
      3-the 2 ennemies to a golf swing are CONTROL and EFFORT
      4-You are wired and assembled perfectly for all sports; especially golf!
      5-This is super real; the sports science of motor skill acquisition is overwhelmingly on our side.
      All you need is a good task to a target with a solid prediction process. In our premium channel, the videos you want to start with are the “senior series”, then the “throwing series” then the “release videos”, the “Goldie locks “ series and “predict contact” then the “target confirmation series” and “kinetic chain facilitation and engagement series” and after that, you will SEE EXACTLY WHAT IS MISSING AND WILL HAVE A WAY FORWARD WITH NO WORRIES OF LOSING YOUR SWING.
