Tips for the beginning: 1) If the Ghost isn't close by, save/quit and reload. It may take a few times for it to be there. Once it is, restart/reset checkpoint shouldn't disrupt it. 2) When grabbing the Ghost, beat down the Grunt. If you jack it, it's likely the Grunt will boost forward. 3) If you get shredded while going down the middle, loop around to the left. Between tries, sometimes the Grunt will be down the middle and sometimes to the left. Often it doesn't matter and you get shredded anyway. You'll lose ~15 seconds this way but it isn't a WR run. Everything else was spot on, the Wraith made it much easier.

@@CC-me4yx It's the same on Xbox at this point too on series consoles. The games run at 4k 60 on series X which I play on, same as on PC which I also play on. I am pretty sure they're 60 fps on series S as well, not sure the resolution. LNoS is the worst actually bc they all lock onto you with aimbot accuracy, absolutely brutal. Play the original version of reach at 30 fps and it's not the case, at some point when it went to MCC and probably when it went to 60 fps, it broke it and now they aimbot like crazy. Hopefully one day they patch that. I would focus on making up times on other levels and then taking these harder ones more slowly tbh. Focus on making up good time on easy levels and getting them down very precisely, then you have a lot of time to spare on these more difficult ones.
i find the first part with the ghost is easiest if you: 1. if the ghost spawns all the way on the right, hijack it and then go backward and store it in a safe spot. Take out the laser jackal, shade turrets, most of the fuel rod grunts, and optionally the second ghost. these shots are generally easy headshots. then it is much safer to continue with your stolen ghost. 2. if the ghost is in any other spot, do what i said in 1. except snipe an additional ghost and take it later. this definitely adds time but its not a super significant amount of time imo
It's safer to take out the enemies, but since the ghost grab is at the very start of the level, I personally just kept restarting the level every time I failed since it only takes a few seconds per attempt
The second half is pretty easy once you get the wraith cheese going in the corner for the dropships, lots of RNG in the beginning section, i recommend not firing a shot til your behind the rock where the ghost sometimes spawns on the right. Then snipe out the turrets and the jackal beam rifle. I also snipe one of the grunts out of their ghost and take that to get to the tank section. Took me two separate 3hr trys but my final time is 23:02. Il come back on Normal or heroic to get the par time achievement. Thanks for the vid tho super helpful like always
That achievement is more about patience, just try easy with all skulls except blind and mythic. It should take you like an hour to do it, if u can't handle the assassinations just swing the sword until you need a new one.
@@byakurath I did SLASO in 22 minutes with bad rng. It's very doable. I just grabbed the ghost, boosted until the two AA guns, destroyed them, got back in the ghost, went to the next sniper tower thing, killed the grunts, grabbed fuel rods, hijacked another ghost because mine was dead almost, shot out the AA guns with the fuel rod, hijacked and ran over like every driver with their own vehicle, bolted to the ONI base, used the elevator, then did what he did in the video to grab a wraith, and the rest was super easy. I did the save/quit exploit twice because of the iron skull, but it still keeps your added time sadly. I could've done this on SLASO in par time if I didn't have died the a couple times at the part where the doors open to the entrance to the ONI building.
It's not bad, set it to easy, turn on skulls, and go crazy with the sword. When the Elites shield breaks they always have a "enrage' or whatever animation and you can assassinate and just continue swinging. Once you need ammo, get another sword and repeat. Be patient and don't get over zealous, grab a concussion rifle to break up the elites if you need
You need to restart the mission completely(returning to the mission select screen) a few times to get him to spawn there. It's all RNG where the ghost spawns, but once you get the ghost to spawn initially every restart without returning to the mission select screen the ghost will still be there.
This mission is fucken hell. It doesn't want me to do anything except die. I best my record from 35 to 27 minutes but I would've made it if I didn't get fucked in every single part of this mission
I ended up taking out the banshee with a headshot then took out the fuel rod grunts with head shots and after that got the guy out of the turret by shooting him and sped off. Worked way better to not get killed.
HUNK I got 3:00:34 So I beaten Nightfall with a better time and got 2:57:14. I didn’t get the cheevo. It might be that it’s either one shot run or that I have to beat the game again.
The missions I’m having the most problem with are long night of solace and new Alexandria. Will I still get the achievement if I do missions in a selected order
after like 50 restarts i got like 5 good times through the beginning with the ghost. the tank i never had any issue with EXCEPT that debris gets in the path and this tank has no ability to go over or though it. literally wasting sooo much time trying to get the tank to go, its sooo annoying. did manage to get like 25 mins on final run.
for the starting bit the ghost rarely spawns but when it does you can use it to skip that area if you have tilt skull on. i have tried it so many times and i just decided to turn tilt skull on and on the first try the ghost spawned and i was able to use it to skip that area.
I can't get past the first part at all. Every time I highjack the ghost I get destroyed by the two fuel rod grunts, shade turret, focus rifle jackal and other ghost that rams me no matter which direction I go. I've tried but had to take a break after 3 hours of restarting
I did everything he did and all worked as a charm, first time also, par 20. And yes I play on pc. I got the ghost where he showed. If you want to not die from the grunts, then try to go as far to the right with the ghost as possible, because the fuel rod will take longer to travel to you. Also, as soon as you get to the tank, just get off the ghost and hide behind, wait for your shields to recharge. Enemies from the previous section and turret grunts from the next will stop aggro-ing you. Last think, the banshees and an elite focused me after the AA guns but I did not lose even 1 health bar. Just kill definitely the ghosts and you should be good to go. Hit and run
I just dont get it... half the time the ghost in the beginning does not spawn on the right. The times it does, when I board it, I have 0 boost and get taken out by fuel rod grunts... if I do get boost, its either 25% or full... more often 25%. When I do manage to get the ghost, full boost, the one fule rod and ghost combo one shot me... IF I make it to the two AA guns... I get taken out by waves of banshees... even if I try to take them out between AA shots. When I move to the third section, where there is another gun platform and 2 ghosts, magically, a fuel rod grunt spawns and does NOT show up on radar and takes me out from behind... this is by far the hardest mission for me..
Anyone know how to fire the bomb on the banshee on PC ? The gun works fine, but can't find a binding key for the bomb.. MCC dud a weird update...what do most players use, anyone know ? Thanks.
Hey can you do a run that is a bit more consistent to pull off? I have been trying this not stop for 2 hours and I have only gotten passed the first part 5 times in total, and even then the RNG fuced me after that point and I got caught in a death loop.
I can do that mission start about 1 in 100 tries. I'm back to fighting this fist section out more and burning about 2 minutes getting to the tank. I get the ghost in that spot about 1 in 20 tries. And then about 1 in 5 to get to the tank. Then I need a good rest of the run. Way too much game play time.
so i did the whole campaign following these guides on the legendary playlist on the game, and i didnt get the achevement. I didnt keep a record of my times for each level but im pretty sure i got it under 3 hours. so my question is, is the achevement doable on a playlist? or would i have to go to the "missions" tab to get it?
If you want to make the intro part actually consistent instead of bullshit randomness. I suggest spending an extra 20 seconds to headshot the 3 fuel rod grunts, the laser jackal in the tower, and the two shade turret grunts to make the run as painless as possible.
Fuck this stupid fucking achievement. Took me over 2 hours to finally get a good time when at the final area (Banshee's kept killing me in the Scorpion part, and I couldn't get the Ghost to survive right at the beginning) then when I finally get to the firefight area, I somehow get my Wraith stuck next to the Spider turret closest to where you spawn in and it gives me a checkpoint, which effectively killed the run cause there's no way I'd be able to finish in time.
If the ghost isn’t there, you gotta take the hard way: Take out the jackal first: start shooting even if your hud isn’t up. Take out the two turrets Take out a lot of fuel rod grunts Grab a plazpis and hijack a ghost.
WTF you actually have the best rng in all your videos. there is no way i would survive your start route... edit: neither do i survive everything else. all banshees attack me, the revenants fuck my scorpion up with aimbot accuracy and further i havent gotten yet... edit 2: and now the two plasma turrets in the garage rape me at in instant. slowly but surely i believe most of this strats dont work in the pc version bc enemies behave differently... edit 3: okay now the banshees sometimes are there and sometimes they just fly around at the far end of the map, not coming even close to me.
why does it seem like he's not playing on legendary lol! Tried everything for that first ghost part, can't make it with the sniper and turret being alive - die instantly, almost looks like he's playing on heroic or something o_O
If you're playing on PC, the AI is much more dangerous. They have a higher rof with weapons, higher accuracy, higher aggression, and projectiles like plasma, fuel rods, and grenades move much faster so things he can get away with in his videos you almost certainly cannot

I think the reason so many of us are having a hard time is because this video isn't a legendary play through. You can see he gets directly hit with a fuel rod cannon. Takes almost no damage. Nor is he getting hit by both shade turrets or the beam rifle jackal. Everything is hitting me and I get instakilled by one fuel rod shot. Explain that. Rng doesn't manipulate damage. Oh I also forgot to mention he doesnt seem to have a 3rd fuel rod grunt right next to that ghost you zoom past. This is my theory as I can make it past the first 2 grunts 1 outta 50, and i can get to the tank 1 outta 1000.
I can near flawless this after the ghost section (lovely idea btw 343... make what was a valid speedrunning strategy, into an RNG Fuckfest), but as soon as i reach the turrets and revenants.. OH. MY. GOD. WHAT. A SHITSHOW. (before you even get a CHANCE to get in position to kill the turrets INCOMING SPAM FUEL ROD CANNONS) The only part worse than that and the beginning RNG is the TERRIBLE timegated INFINITE durability/aimbot phantoms on top of the ridiculous overaggressive ai. Really needs a nerf to par score to about 40-45k.. then its actually conceivable solo WITHOUT needing perfect rng and EVERY skull on.
Got 99k in solo (pretty much LASO without Iron. 11.98x mult) but the point still stands.. one of the worst designed par scores, without the Banshee/Wraith 'exploit', you have a NEAR ZERO chance of reaching this through normal gameplay.

Focus on making up good time on easy levels and getting them down very precisely, then you have a lot of time to spare on these more difficult ones.
this mission is fucking hard
i find the first part with the ghost is easiest if you:
1. if the ghost spawns all the way on the right, hijack it and then go backward and store it in a safe spot.
I start the level: the ghost is sitting way beyond the hordes of enemies and not just to the right of the start.
3 min later: you wanna make sure you don't take out these ghosts over here. 3 min earlier: annihilated all the ghosts.
That ghost has yet to spawn in the same location I've restarted several times.
Every video this dude posts is so fucking lucky on his end with the spawning and placement of enemies.
0:13 the ghost never goes over there for me
The luck this guy has is unbelievable
Actually i'm freaking out with the achievement one final firefight .. uff
That achievement is more about patience, just try easy with all skulls except blind and mythic.
It should take you like an hour to do it, if u can't handle the assassinations just swing the sword until you need a new one.
Fuck that part it's borderline impossible
0:15 in PC he's never at that position, so I have to clear the area instead 😤
Even when restarting to get the ghost in the correct place, I get absolutely obliterated before I even make it out of the area :(
made it in 19:56, 4 seconds away from losing 🥵🥵😂🤣🤣
Thanks!!
The hardest part of this mission by far is originally getting the ghost without dying
For the achievement... I have to do all misions consecutive? Or i can do 1 by 1? Nice videos, love from México
You can do them 1 by 1, it takes the best completion times
@@ABlueElitefromHaloCE thank you!
HUNK
I got 3:00:34
So I beaten Nightfall with a better time and got 2:57:14.
I didn’t get the cheevo.
It might be that it’s either one shot run or that I have to beat the game again.

HUNK
NEVERMIND!
I just booted up lone wolf and got the achievement!
The missions I’m having the most problem with are long night of solace and new Alexandria. Will I still get the achievement if I do missions in a selected order
You can do them in any order, the game just takes your best times from each level and adds them up. You can redo a mission as many times as you want.
Halo Completionist ok thanks man . Your videos are really helping me
I literally go around the corner and instantly die to the fuel rod
RNG wouldn't let me get a single distracted ghost at the start (probably patched). Spent 1+ min clearing the area as in LASO.
Wtf the banshees focused on me so hard they destroyed my tank after the AA guns at the start (from full health.)
after like 50 restarts i got like 5 good times through the beginning with the ghost. the tank i never had any issue with EXCEPT that debris gets in the path and this tank has no ability to go over or though it. literally wasting sooo much time trying to get the tank to go, its sooo annoying. did manage to get like 25 mins on final run.
for the starting bit the ghost rarely spawns but when it does you can use it to skip that area if you have tilt skull on. i have tried it so many times and i just decided to turn tilt skull on and on the first try the ghost spawned and i was able to use it to skip that area.
I can't get past the first part at all. Every time I highjack the ghost I get destroyed by the two fuel rod grunts, shade turret, focus rifle jackal and other ghost that rams me no matter which direction I go. I've tried but had to take a break after 3 hours of restarting
Did you know you can hijack a wraith by getting in the gunners seat, the driver just hops out. It's weird.
I didn't even need to do The Package and PoA for the speedrun cheevo to pop.
Can you use the Lab Switch/Easter Egg to skip the last fight?
I have been trying this not stop for 2 hours and I have only gotten passed the first part 5 times in total, and even then the RNG fuced me after that point and I got caught in a death loop.
what if your ghost isnt in the right spot right at the start?
Halo Waypoint would have your times. I think it would count in individual missions and playlists but not sure.
FlameSama1 I had to do the thing where I load up the first cutscene again for it to register. But I got it :)
Nice. I'm still working on LASO with a friend, this achievement is gonna come later lol.
FlameSama1 I’m working on LASO too, hit me up if you wanna suffer. Haha
If you want to make the intro part actually consistent instead of bullshit randomness. I suggest spending an extra 20 seconds to headshot the 3 fuel rod grunts, the laser jackal in the tower, and the two shade turret grunts to make the run as painless as possible.
Impossible ! At the beginning the ghost is too far away behind the covenants line
The first ghost is never fucking there
Getting past the first part is pure luck.
Jackets plasma pistol still have aimbot were ever u are
im convinced the AI in your campaigns just suck because i hijack this ghost and get blasted right away.
If the ghost isn’t there, you gotta take the hard way:
Take out the jackal first: start shooting even if your hud isn’t up.
Take out the two turrets
Take out a lot of fuel rod grunts
Grab a plazpis and hijack a ghost.
I wish he would do guides that didn't require perfect rng like this.
Speedrunning is kinda all about RNG
@@tTaseric speed running also has reliable routs that the runners can do constantly you're a terrible speed runner if your run depends on perfect rng to pass this mission.
@@tTaseric my guess is he did these guides on a different version of the game, then me, the ghost never spawned near the spot it needed to be, no matter how many times I reset.
@@Destroyer-kr4hm To be fair this is a speedrun you only need to complete once, so relying on RNG is kinda fair IMO.
He usually does more reliable / consistent guides though, so It's strange he went with the more RNG reliant run here.
@@Destroyer-kr4hm Are you sure you're fully resetting the mission? The RNG stuff is decided when you load the mission up, it doesn't change when you just press 'Restart Mission' If I remember correctly.
This mission is horrendous on PC
I'm looking for two experienced players who want this achievement, message me if your interested.
343 cheated and made ai weapons 5x faster and their plasma practically follows.
signs of a lazy pc port
Shouldn't make a guide based off your own personal best rng speedrun
I... Hate this so much
yeah fuck this im tired of trying
These tutorials don't even help due to how unrealistic they are
I can near flawless this after the ghost section (lovely idea btw 343... make what was a valid speedrunning strategy, into an RNG Fuckfest), but as soon as i reach the turrets and revenants.. OH. MY. GOD. WHAT. A SHITSHOW. (before you even get a CHANCE to get in position to kill the turrets INCOMING SPAM FUEL ROD CANNONS)
The only part worse than that and the beginning RNG is the TERRIBLE timegated INFINITE durability/aimbot phantoms on top of the ridiculous overaggressive ai.
Pure cancer achievement . Halo 1 3 4 odst speedrun achievments I completed but reach and halo 2 is just hard . I think halo 2 speedrun is beter than reach . They bloody made reaches legendary campaign a lot harder also . I didn't like what they did . Dang enemy's are way more agresive than the xbox 360 version.
