The guy who figures out how to motivate the Fijians will make a lot of money. Every time they fail to show up, there is one solo try that demonstrates how they are capable of playing when they feel like it. Sublime. But missing the conversion said it all.
That's the arduous task of Nacanieli Cawanibuka is trying to tap into the 'flair' mode. Ben Ryan, as a English man understood the psychology of Fijian rugby athletes and tapped into it. A impediment with Drua is that they want to too much lip-service with the spiritual aspect (lotu lotu). Their full capability, the flair, is impeded because of the lack of depth with knowing the Bible and its intricacies, mysteries to be mirrored or reconciled with the depth from the vanua. You may not understand this. But successful overseas coaches that come through the Fijian rugby system read the complexity of it right. It pays. Plus, there are too many churches in Viti. Over 3,000. It shows how religion, not God or your state of spirituality, easily sows seeds of and allows discourse, division and disunity. Members out of disagreement, personal reasons and hurt or resentment form their own church. It's been going on for a few decades. Not good at all.

Patiently waiting for the day the Drua finally starts playing smarter and not just harder with a fully disciplined mindset on the road which will be homework for 2025. Blues pretty much ran a clinic around the visitors.
Vnk Fijian Drua for another season of Fijian rugby tasling with the big boys and another year of reaching the quaters. Still a long way to go in the future and perfecting Drua brand and developing. Stick with it and keep putting in the effort especially being a role model to the upcoming Fiji rugby stars that gets inspired by you guys and will follow your footsteps back in the Islands. #FijianDrua #PacifikaRugby🙏
@colwynt Not really. Trading players happens in sport all the time. Drug can buy up better players increasing their stock and become a better team. I love watching Fijian rugby. With ball in hand and space to play, there is no finer exponent of the running game! They're not on equal terms to the Kiwis in most other aspects of the game, but give it time and they'll be challenging for silverware in 5-6 years, I reckon. Blues were awesome today. Not sure how the semis a re going to line up but I'd love to see all New Zealand clash between the Blues and the Hurricanes! Love and respect from Wales👏👏👏❤
They're too often a bit hap hazard. I think the teams with better passing and offload skills are better exponents of running rugby. I'd like to see them challenging for silverware but I think they'll always field a 2nd string team because their best players will always be overseas.
Some terrible reffing at the breakdown allowing both sides to go off their feet at the breakdown to seal the ball off. Pretty one sided for the attacking team and extremely difficult for the defending team to turn ball over. Hope this doesn't become an issue at international level.
Drua fan here knew the score after 10mins..so I switched to my beloved UP THE WARRIORS glad I did what a great win ..Drua sa sega na vaisau sa dua tu ga..strong at home weak away sums up the Drua
Tbh i think drua needs to get rid of droasese. And lomani needs to clear the ball abit far away. Dude box kicking on their 2m line to their 5m line. Come on mate. Thats like giving a try away since they know drua are know for their poor maul
Agreed. It has all been one sided affairs. Well, except for the Brumbies v Highlanders game in, Canberra. But then again, the Highlanders are overrated in my opinion & the Brumbies have just been smashing opponents this season. And lets not forget, that the Brumbies did already beat the Highlanders, earlier this season. It was close, but they still did it. And in, New Zealand too, so... But nonetheless, I believe that the Brumbies v Highlanders game will be the only close game of the Super Rugby quarter-Finals.
@Tani-wd2yc Well people thought they'd never reach the quarters.. but 3 years in a row and the Drua have been in the quarters from the start.. Better luck Next Year!
This is basically like a copa libertadores quarter final featuring a Brazilian team at home in which half the stadium was empty. Which wouldn’t happen. So what’s going on here?
Officials is killing drua's momentum That's why South left the competition. And when they left, they leaves ozy and the blackies empty handed at world cup now and forever. They are doing it again to the drua.all blacks will suffer later.
"Give Christie an AB jersey" makes it seem like he's overlooked, but he's not. He has more than 20 caps in the last 3 years, including an appearance in the World Cup final.
I saw him in the World Cup . He can’t be all blacks ! He had the chance to have the worst coach all blacks ( muppet foster) . Christie only good in defense. He does not attack the line , has pass simple . Really , ratima Noham Fakatava .. are better so far . Razor will think like me !

Fans of NZ wanting to NZ to win isn't wrong at all. In a perfect world you'd have a more balanced comp where Australia and the Islands don't get blown off the park and the finals are an international affair. That would be better for the game, but that doesn't make fans who want their teams to win wrong for wanting so.

I'd pick that Caleb Clarke set piece try over a line break and side step.
But what about that exciting rolling maul try?

Yep good tries but pale into insignificance next to what Stino Ravutaumada did to get his try
