  • In this recap of Season 2 of “52 Masters”, series director Jim Towns and I chat about some of the different karate styles and their respective sensei whom I got to train with this last time around including:
Tom Callahan, Vinicio Antony, Soke Tak Kubota, Marques McCammon, and Shihan Fumio Demura. (Sensei Ed Smith makes a cameo but I don’t specifically discuss his episode in this installment. Absolutely no disrespect intended, Sensei Smith!) We also discuss the different grappling styles and their respective teachers whom I got to train with this last time around including:
Cindy Omatsu, Efrain Sevilla, Sonny Mannon, David Dye, Burton Richardson and Ron Thomas.
Finally, I reveal some of the surprises I discovered about the martial artists I spent time with, the positive benefits of martial arts training, and my hope for the future of martial arts.
Thank you for supporting my journey.
    William Christopher Ford

Great series. My favourites were the E-K-A (FMA) stuff, Hawaiian & Fumio Demura. *I turn 51 this Summer, having started training at age 16.

What has been the most physically challenging episode you've filmed to date

Tom Callahan and Kyokushinkan Karate was pretty tough as was Benny Urquidez’s class. The Capoeira class challenged me as well!
