Every once in a while, a review comes along that hits a place deep down in your soul. It seems like an eternity ago when these came out, but I remember them like it was yesterday. And it's so damn crazy seeing the way the serving containers used to look, too, my goodness. I remember when it all came in styrofoam like that, and the white fry-pods and cups with the old brown and orange logos. Man, was I ever that young?! Thank you sincerely, TJ, for reviewing these. I don't know that many ever have, and it was quite heartwarming to see them again. A highlight while we live in such dark times.
Really enjoyed this video! I didn't realize how much I had missed this series. There's something strangely comforting and soothing about your edited/scripted content. Also, the face sculpts of the first wave remind me a lot of Bionicle
For your next plastic addict, think about RID galvatron, his hole design is sacrificed his 10+ modes, which made him a jack of all trades but a king of none, his only redeeming quality being his robot mode.
You know what McDonalds should do, a Summer-Long Happy Meal promotion that would be a reboot of the Changeables, only this time these Changeables would be like the size of the original Go-Bots toys (the toy series that was the inspiration for transformers and were basically transformers that are the size of hot wheels/matchbox cars/vehicles) and they will be able to transform from a common McDonalds food product to a full size robot with the whole body and legs and arms and everything, plus it will have actual working weapons and a Munchoid plastic pop-up display/weapon shooting target [P.S. the Munchoids are a of evil Reptilian/Dinosaur warriors that gain power from eating a special substance known as "Nacku" that is found in regular fast-food grease witch, while fattening to humans, gives Munchoids unbelievable strength and power, but wears off after 2-3 minutes, they use this power to take over planets, so the Changeables disguise and shrinks (or as they like to call it "re-materialize) into the size of a regular food product, so they can transform and re-materialize big to give the Munchoids the surprise attack, cause dinosaurs have a hard time telling things apart, and I used the Munchoids because they said that in the commercials] it'll be like an actual transforming toy robot in the 80's, even the commercials will be like in an 80's commercial style with the quality and everything, here's some examples of the figures: th09.deviantart.net/fs70/PRE/i/2010/238/2/b/Krypto... fc03.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2012/116/0/8/08c1d21522... fc09.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2012/109/2/9/29e8210c30... (of course these are just the prototype drawings) But they won't just sell 7 toys all month, no, they will sell 7 new toys each month for 4 months during the summer (May, June, July, & August) each month will have new kind of changeable toys with different designs and their will be a commercial for each week: - Month 1 (May): 7 Basic McRobo Changeables for to start out the series - Month 2 (June): 7 McRobo Changeables Color-Changers that change colors with warm or cold water, and they change color into different flavors of the food products, cause 3 are based on chicken wraps and sandwiches that change from spicy to mild, 3 are based off milk bottles and ice cream that change from chocolate to vanilla, and 1 is based off a chicken 20 piece box that changes from a 20 piece Chicken McNuggets box to a 20 Mighty Wings box - Month 3 (July): 7 McDino Changeables, which are dinosaurs that change into McDonalds food products (including a T-Rex that changes into a Happy Meal box), who are created by the Munchoids with the Changeables Robot DNA (or "RNA" as they call it) to be an equal match to the Changeables, but they become rebellious and goes out to destroy the Changeables on their own, and these dinosaurs are more vicious than their 1991 counterparts, while still looking true to their disguise when they are in their food form, and they even have special weapons that they can attach to themselves - Month 4 (August): 7 Rare McRobo Changeables that when you get all 7 of those rare toys you can combine them into one big fighting robot And everytime you get a figure you will also get a paper coin called "the Galacta Token" and if you get 3 Galacta Tokens, you can trade them in and ether get a full comic book or animated episode on DVD of your choice, each of them feature an adventure featuring the adventures of the Changeables and their new human friends, excited and adventurous 11 year old boy Travis Barnes, his super smart but is still not toilet trained (as a joke) 5 year old little sister Gina Barnes, and their beautiful and hot but extremely unlucky (although she does try to keep her cool) 15 year old female cousin (and babysitter) Megan Barnes, in their adventures to stop the Munchoids from stealing the food from the world and using it's power to take over the world, with new adventures each month that are based off the toys they are selling of that month, and there will be different colored Galacta Tokens to tell which month is that token is for: - Month 1 (May): Green - Month 2 (June): Red - Month 3 (July): Blue - Month 4 (August): Yellow put in commercials for the Happy Meals that looks straight out of an 80s toy commercial and it would be McDonalds's biggest Happy Meal Toy promotion ever! what do you think, would that be a good idea?
I remember these guys! My grandpa had a bad habit of collecting stuff like this. Just a big ol box full of nothing but mcdonalds junk from the 90s to the 80s.
Fun fact as someone who actually works at McDonald's: the Ice Cream machine is rarely broken. Its usually just being cleaned and its easier for employees to tell customers its broken than to explain that
So are we not going to talk about the fact that three of these things were named Frylock, Master Shake, and Meatwad? Why does that sound so familiar? Aqua Teen Huger Force!
McDonalds did another set of transforming figures, but not based on their food products. they had a line with several of the McDonald's mascots, and they each turned into an animal. I had Ronald McDonald who turned into a parrot, the yellow bird girl who turned into a polar bear, and the purple blob guy in scuba gear who turned into a whale. I don't remember their names because the mascots weren't used much in marketing here, they were mostly used as wallpaper printing for play areas in some McDonald's restaurants.
I used to play with some of these at a friend’s house, the chicken nuggets, the milkshake, and the Big Macasaurus Rex. Recently I got Macro Mac and Fry Bot. I like them!
Am I the only one who remembers some old wind-up transforming robots there used to be in happy meals? They had off-white bodies with blue and stickered underbodies, red arms with chromed clawed hands, and blue heads. If I remember correctly, you had a fighter jet, a race car and some sort of space ship...
Love the video (so glad to see your customs there. Great work.). Do you intend or plan on bringing Toycember back this year? I doubt it but figured it was worth it to ask
Nice haircut, and nice nostalgia, and try making a whole thanksgiving dinner yourself! It’s hard! I would know, I did it last year. It was rough.........and have a good family dinner TJOmega
Instead of McDonalds making Transformers toys, I wanna see Hasbro making McDonalds Transformers. A $20-$30 figure where 1:1 scale food items transform into classic McDonald Land characters such as Hamburglar and Mayor McCheese
@@OptimusPhillip That's because the new law isn't in full effect yet. Brace yourself for January 2020: it'll begin the end of UA-cam the same way Atari ended.

'It's a tad smaller'
Sounds like a modern transforming item to me
All the robo faces look like prototype Bionicles.
I can’t unsee that now

put in commercials for the Happy Meals that looks straight out of an 80s toy commercial and it would be McDonalds's biggest Happy Meal Toy promotion ever!

The Hotcakes Pterodactyl was my favorite McDonald's toy as a kid, also. These all hit me so hard in the nostalgia!

I definitely had several of the series 2 and a couple series 1.ohhhh and the dino foods.
At least Frybot isn’t as nightmare inducing as Frybo from Steven Universe.

Man can you believe that the 10 best transformers of the decade video came out almost ten years ago? It really doesn't feel like it was that long ago!
Just in time for the retro McDonald's toy set. Good timing on that and perfect for turkey day.
They actually came out while I was accumulating these and I had to start rewriting the end of the review.
@@TJOmega Ah. I knew that set was recent but don't have it's exact date. I only hang in the toku and transformers bubble toy wise

Hey have I still have some of those somewhere Used to play with Transformers with Funny how I had Megatron get beat up by a Big Mac lol.
The Rex looks more like a certasoraorus
I remember getting this when I was a kid! I love them! My favorites where the Dino ones!
Nice vid TJ, very interesting figures.
That shake's robot mode really reminds me of the Turn A Gundam.

this is awesome do more please
I think I still have a set of the Australian changeables. I always like the cheeseburger.
I own that variant Big Mac. (Buried in the cupboard) + frieceratops.
Amazing! Do you have any of the actual Transformers Happy Meal toys?
