I've had a proper look around at todays' top players and have had my flabber gasted beyond repair. But despite how intense my admiration is for all of them, Josh is my preferred gentleman. I dread to think how far he will take us.
I'm half way through this course. Well worth the money, but highly advanced. Hard to master each lick, but each section opens up a new realm of melodic approaches that I've been missing. Definitely got me out of the rut I was in and back to looking forward to practicing each day. Josh's playing and style reminds me very much of Vinnie Moore's Time Odyssey album when Vinnie was exploring his fusion side. I can only hope when I get to chapter 10 I can tackle this awesome solo.
Insane player. You know what would be awesome to include with these packages: either a couple of tone patches fir the major modellers, or a kind of tone rundown: amp w/settings & pedal w/settings. Always takes me ages to try and find a sound i like when going through the lessons.
It is material from the final lesson on a series of fusion lessons by him. So it is the end (level) of fusion. Nothing to be discovered anymore, wrap it up, go home.
Saying any human endeavor is complete is a bit silly noh? Like saying the universe is complete because humans exist? We dont know what music can become, fusion included, and its people like josh who are adding their own stamp to it, pushing it forward to whatever comes next... Doesnt that sound more exciting rather than fusion was already complete? I think the real answer is nothing will ever truly be complete... its just the next step on the journey :)
honestly this sounds pretty mediocre on a musical level. i wouldn’t comment otherwise but seeing the arrogant ass title, this sounds like scalar runs with little no to no attention to the phrasing. this sounds too guitaristic. if you listen to AH, shawn lane, chick you will notice they play like lines, they don’t play scales as fast as they can for no reason
I feel like thats a bit like saying beck isnt good because he didnt play like hendrix... Josh is not AH and i dont think he wants to be... the way he mixes his own melodic ideas, whether they be a scalar run, arpeggiated ideas, enclosures, or even blues-esque bends... its just him, he is him so to say... and i think music is better for it With regards to the title, i think its playing on the word complete... because in art nothing is truly complete yeah? Josh doesnt think hes completed music, but he adds something to it new and his own

that was a quite sickening display of skill. I slowed it down so i could learn it and play along. I got the first note correct, and called it a day.
