just a little insight on why there was silence at the end ofthe last song (get well soon). the song is dedicated to her fans who were at the Manchester arena terrorist attack at her concert, it happened on may 22nd which is why she chose to make the track 5.22 mins long and that's why there was the 30 second silence at the end for those that died, and that song like you said is about anxiety but it's also about the ptsd she experienced and the fans too that were there of course she said she wanted it to be like a musical hug to them. I can't wait for you to get more into her you need to react to some of her interviews, can't wait to see more from you :)

Yes I love that album! I think it's a bit misunderstood...i feel like many people were expecting a sad, ballad heavy album after what she's been through but I feel like this was just an escape for her. This album feels like comfort to me. The kind of comfort you seek out when you're actually feeling really depressed & sad and you're trying to get back some of the good feelings you had in the moments where you first experienced that comfort like watching your fave childhood movies or reading harry Potter for the 100th time...it's a healing album imo & just her trying different things cause she's said it many times that music brings her that kind of comfort🤷

The silence at the end of get well soon is to make the song 5:22 because the Manchester attack was on 22/05. It's also to pay respect to the people who died that day. I never ever ever skip that part. And I never ever speak during it. I just bow my head and show some gratitude for my life.

Successful was a song about anxiety and panic attacks, hence the heavy breathing. It was about distracting yourself from the bad things with luxuries and good things.

I know this is a year old but NTLTC was the first single off the album, the end of her hiatus, and the beginning of a new chapter symbolically and literally. You’re definitely right, it set the tone for the entire era! She teased it via IG as she teased the album cover, posting the beginning vocals heard in the video with a picture of her ear (it makes more sense when you see the post 😂). But it was so exciting. Her friends were wearing NTLTC hoodies with the words upside down. Also, the upside down theme of the album is inspired by the Truman Show (Ariana is a MASSIVE Jim Carrey fan). But she said it just felt right because The Truman show is all about being topsy turvey and on your head and that’s how her life felt during this era (Manchester, breaking up with Mac Miller).

I don’t normally comment on UA-cam videos because I watch on my tv. But I had to grab my phone and tell you I loved this video! The depth and amazing commentary was too refreshing. You seem so genuinely kind and talented. I’m subscribed and you better believe I have that bell icon on 💜🥰

I always wonder if Ariana regrets putting out the song Better Off after mac died because she said she realized he was her soulmate too late. I’m sure that song really hurt him, and of course hurt her too I’m sure. 😔
Better Off was actually already written and was about Ricky at one point. But with time and everything going with Mac, the lyrics still fit how she felt. She explains in the Zach Sang interview :)

I think to really understand this album you have to take it in the context of moving on from tragic events. This was the first album after the Manchester stadium bombing where her own fans were targeted, killed and injured. I’m addition to her making peace with Mac’s death and finding happiness again. I think it’s fantastic.
