    Haven't even finished your video, and I already bought it. Great gameplay video, as always. (and u missed one dice to roll in 21:56 lol).

    Wow! This was in your top 10 solo games video, and I was still unsure how it worked, but seeing you play this has made me rethink... This was a really relaxing playthrough, and I love the puzzly nature of the game. Well done!

      I'm glad you enjoyed the video, PhoenixSlayer. Some people will find the solo mode undercooked, but I like the simplicity, which just lets me enjoy the puzzle of my turn. Thanks for watching!

    It was cool to see how many dice you could generate without buying the yellow or brown trees and without planting very often. I've generally advocated for planting as the optimal way to attain dice (and I still think it's probably optimal), but this video shows definitively that planting is not the only good way to develop and feed a wood engine.

    • @TotallyTabled
      @TotallyTabled  Рік тому

      Definitely, Alex. I usually plant quite a bit, but getting those dice bonuses on the wheel, grabbing helpers and contracts that provide dice, then buying and selling as needed -- it is a fun alternative. Thanks for watching!

    Another fantastic video. Thanks so much! Love your work!! :)
    Question. At 21:58 the bot "takes" the lumber, so you re-roll the dice. The card looks like the 3 left dice have "X" on them. Should the yellow die been re-rolled as well?

      Yes, they are the Iron Clays from Roxley Games. You can purchase them seperately and they are fantastic! Thanks for watching!

      @@TotallyTabled well, my main income is television and it’s quite reflective of your channel style. So good choice!

    • @TotallyTabled
      @TotallyTabled  Рік тому +1

      That is cool, Steve. I did a bit of screenwriting in the past and I was tempted to try my hand at TV, but never did. Then life stuff happened and I moved on, but I still have a soft spot for television. Unlike movies, which I now kind of hate after my limited interactions with the industry. Sorry for the life story. 🤪 Thanks again!

    Another great teach! I’ve really enjoyed finding your channel. Quick question: What Plano Box did you have on the side holding all the game pieces? Does it fit in the box?

    • @TotallyTabled
      @TotallyTabled  Рік тому +1

      I'm so happy you found the channel! That box is a cheap one I found at the Dollar Tree. Any Plano would do the job. It definitely fits in the box with lots of room to spare. It is a Ticket To Ride size box. Thanks for watching!

    I only wish the house boards were a little different for replay

  • @MD-et8kz
    @MD-et8kz Рік тому

    How much variability and replay ability does this have how random is the setup.those card decks don't look very big

    • @TotallyTabled
      @TotallyTabled  Рік тому +2

      That is a great question, MD. I struggle with questions of replayability -- I think it is one of those board game terms that means something different for each person, sort of like "weight." It is a low interaction game (especially if playing solo) and there is nothing in the variable setup that radically changes the game you are playing. The puzzle changes each time but it is the same type of puzzle. You don't end up seeing a lot of cards each game, so the decks are plenty large. The helpers you get change your strategy a lot and you have to adapt. I'd say replayability is average -- but I find the dice manipulation puzzle to be compelling enough to keep it interesting. Sorry, not a great answer. Thanks for watching!

    Since you're using poker chips as the currency, does that mean the game does not actually include physical chips to use? Seems a bit strange

      The game includes blueberry card tokens in 1, 3 and 5 denominations. Shaggy just loves using his Roxley Iron Clays poker chips!

  • @riotvale

    in a non solo game it's literally just 14 actions for the entire game? Seems like such a small amount of actions.

    • @TotallyTabled
      @TotallyTabled  Рік тому

      You have a lot of free actions so you are doing more than one thing on your turn more often than not. A lot of medium to heavy Euro games do this sort of thing, where you have few turns, so they need to be very impactful and you need to take advantage of combos and synergies to maximize your turns. It works well in creating an experience that isn't too long, but still feels like a full gaming meal. Thanks for watching!

    • @riotvale
      @riotvale Рік тому

      Yeah, that's true about other Euros doing the same thing (e.g Nusfjord), but it seems that at least in other euros you have multiple workers to place each round. Maybe because it's just ONE turn each round is why i feel it's so little. Anyhow, we're about to start our first game of this shortly, so let's see how it goes! Wish us luck@@TotallyTabled
