I love how the PCA will keep trying, long after they’re dead. Inputting codes and sending battle information. They’re definitely not good guys. But, they’re devoted to the cause. I like it.
Well, there's also the tidbit of defeated persons either being killed or withdrawing- which the officers' dialogue kinda gives off. Would've been cool if this particular officer would have been the first operator of every special unit you fight as a continuity of his attempts to bring you in. 😅
I would argue that the PCA are actually the good guys and that we play as the bad guys (Minus the Liberator ending) or at the very least agents of chaos
Something like this is referenced in my school vr game where after the death of the demon Goalius and the Fall of the Seraphim Angel Emily when playing as the G man Skibidi toilet visiting Heaven Extermination Angels main base there's 2 Similators (1for Goalius and the other for his cousin Nogara)

It fits. LC and HC means Light Cavalry and Heavy Cavalry respectively so it makes sense that their biggest asskicking unit is named after an elite cavalry unit.
As a Hobby historian, I'm very Happy that Fromsoftware decided to pay homage to some ancient military units such as the Cataphract and the Ekdromoi or even some famous historical figures like Sulla.

Spoilers: While you do admire the Original Raven's actions of leaking info on Rubicon, once you get to NG++, it is implied that him and the entire BRANCH merc group were basically told by the ALLMIND to do so. Basically everything that had ever transpired in Rubicon even before the cataclysm, were all orchestrated by the ALLMIND

I kind of hope we get a prequel DLC detailing all of the stuff Raven did. Raven is probably my favorite character in the game just by the virtue of them basically being the main character whose job is pretty much done.
I respect the Cataphract pilot, as he was burning up he respectfully and professionally reported to his superiors "Hey this pilot just wrecked my cheeks. Please verify."
The biggest sadness I felt since I pre ordered this game was not only was this beautiful machine not a part, but that it was a bad guy. I knew ever since the trailers but this mission makes me sad because how cool the Cataphract is. Sounds like there is more to the PCA and Raven, maybe in dlc I hope!!
Miyazaki likes to create characters with established backgrounds but shrouded in mystery. Why are people asking for this kind of DLC? lmao. I like the Original Raven the way he is, delving any deeper is just gonna ruin the character.

the scariest part of the cataphract is in a war situation it could just run over like 25% of an army and its so fast as well

I think it also has to do with the way C4-621 fights. He fights a different way from Nightfall Raven

Well, technically they are the legal owners of the planet.
They're trying to prevent a disaster (Coral explosion like Fires of Ibis) that would decimate entire sectors. They're not really too in the wrong.
