    I’m grateful that even after her passing Goo Hara’s brother still stood up for her and fought for her wishes to be respected. Even through his pain of losing her and the added pain of their mom’s lawsuit, he still didn’t let it break him and focused on what would best protect her dignity and legacy.

It’s just a publicity stunt to them to make it seem like they care and they are doing something but in reality, it’s disappointing to say, those government officials probably agreed with the haters about these girls. Their deaths broke my heart and until this day I cannot think of them without crying and wanting to fvcking punch some ppl in the face. • @marriageisaslowdeath
      @marriageisaslowdeath 2 роки тому +36

      @@allenk6373 Saying other people that you dont know weak for finally lost in the battle of their own minds is not a wise thing to say and is very insensitive; not just for the Koreans that you mentioned but for all those people in the world who struggled mentally. Just because you dont know the live that they lived along with the "stress" they been enduring, doesn't give you the rights to call them weak.
      If those people finally lost to depression and decided to take such extreme decision, the most we can do as a decent human being is just pray or wish that they'll find their peace; not calling them weak. What is even the definition of 'weak' ? I hate that word so much because a lot of people always call others that they dont even know with "weak" as if they're the strongest and unbeatable in this world and everyone else is the weakest and not capable of handling "stress". "Oh stress is not a big deal, is it? It's just stress~ it'll pass. Duh!"
      You won't ever know what's going on in other people's lives, what kind of "stress" and troubles they face each day, what are the situations they're in that make them unable to find ways to cope and help themselves; heck, you dont even know that they had probably been strong, fighting and seeking for help; seeking for ways to get out from the "hell" they had been living in but they unfortunately couldn't find the ways.
      so just be nice and be a decent human being; i believe you're a strong person yourself, and a strong person shouldn't have called others weak for failing to save themselves out of their ""stress"".

      @@allenk6373 sigh. you don't compare people's lives with each other's. just don't. we shouldn't do that.
      you dont need to put so much 'care' into "why these idols cant survive their stress" then draw conclusion that they're so weak. whatever decisions they took, whatever those people (idols and those people you mentioned above) went through; we dont have anything to do with it. its their own lives.
      just be sympathetic to everyone. its really easy. even if you cant be sympathetic, then ignore it. focus on yourself, be thankful about things in your own life and be mindful. my point is not to defend those idols from your opinions, but to tell you that we cant try to be "smart" about someone else's life and judge them. you cannot, i cannot. we dont live their lives.

  • @synovelle
    @synovelle 2 роки тому +219

    People said Sulli wasn’t a good role model, but I think we can all agree that her outgoing nature, independence, creativity, and more are very inspiring and beautiful. Sulli always wanted to be a mother, and I think she would’ve been an amazing mother had she gotten the chance. She deserved so much better. Sulli was a wonderful artist who didn’t want to be afraid to express that artistry in ways her country tried to shame her for. I hope every single individual who harmed Sulli have received karma, and fully understand what they did to such a gorgeous human.
    It’s just awful and heartbreaking that Hara is also gone. They were best friends and found solace with each over during their hard times. Hara was also a beautiful artist with so much creativity, and loved being able to perform and make people happy. She was always supporting her friends, and even though she was hurting, she still tried her best to keep everyone happy. That piece of trash ex-boyfriend and selfish mother didn’t deserve Hara’s kind heart. Hara was already in a very fragile state, and once her best friend was no longer on this earth, she just couldn’t handle it anymore. Hara promised to try to stay strong and live for Sulli, and she did her absolute best, even if it wasn’t for as long as she wanted. I hope the two of them are at rest now.

    The JYJ law made me remember Ailee's case. When she made a comeback with 'Room Shaker' in 2019, I always wondered why she doesn't have any music show cb videos like in Inkigayo. Turns out that YMC blacklisted her from promoting her album 'butterFLY' when she left the company, so she had to promote and busk by herself with the little resources she had at the time. But I'm glad that she's back on the scene when she had her 'Don't Teach Me' cb. It's either YMC doesn't have the influence anymore or her and her current agency had to do some legal work bts.

      Except in 2017, declassified Court Documents showed JYJ was exposed as being liars, and that SM's Contracts were not unfair, and TVXQ was paid really well, which is why the other 2 stayed. And Investigations show that SM has not "blacklisted" JYJ at all. These Court Documents turned Public Perception upside down. JYJ's Case did change Contract lengths forever, thats true.

      @@lunarsoulz The source for your information comes from TVXQ's DC Inside gallery. SM was absolutely caught going to broadcasting stations behind the scenes, preventing JYJ from appearing on broadcasts. It was in the news, and the Fair Trade Commission had to be involved. If SM's contracts were not unfair, there would be no reason to cut them to the standard of 7 now, from the 13 that it used to be, nor invalidate their contracts at the time. The amount TVXQ was paid has also improved over the years. Even after improvements, SM remains one of the lowest paying companies within the Big 4. The other 2 stayed because they wanted to.

    • @lunarsoulz
      @lunarsoulz 2 роки тому +4

      @@predatorontheprey6275 SMs contracts were completely legal at the time, however they felt that 13 years was too long and they changed future contracts for Kpop Trainees to be 7 years. Kpop Artists, especially SM Artists (SUJU, SNSD, f(x)), signed pre-2010 have confirmed their Contracts were still the standard 10 years, because they were still legally binding contracts. The reason why they nicknamed the rule change to the "JYJ Law" because they didnt want to name it the "Hangeng Law" and name it after a Foreigner as Hangeng rightfully won his lawsuit and the actual stipulations in that Law Change were for helping Foreigners in Kpop. JYJ had to pay SM $2 Million in damages just to get out of their deal. Years later JYJ was formally banned by the High Court because they tried to pull this Contract stunt on their current Agencies, eventually proving SM's "innocence" those years ago, and that TVXQ OT2 were the "victims" who did the honorable thing all along by staying and respecting their Contracts.
      SM is not an innocent company at all, but they have only truly lost 1 actual lawsuit in the eyes of the Court and the Public, and that was against Hangeng, which is why Hangeng was never "punished" in any way, and respectfully still has allies within SUJU, and SM. The rest tried to go "scorched earth" against SM and their own groups, and failed, because they had no legal ground to stand on. All SM really ever cared about is Artists respecting their Contracts once signed, like any real Corporation. SM had many Artists who quietly did their thing and respectfully bowed out once their Contracts was up, and moved on in good faith. SM is the only one in the Big 4, who has Artists who are still with them after 12+ years. But no one likes talking about those Artists. People just like focusing on the negatives.

    • @predatorontheprey6275
      @predatorontheprey6275 2 роки тому +10

      You're right - SM's contracts were considered legal, and the norm at the time. And SHINee, Suju, SNSD etc had those long contracts too. But like you said, the court did agree 13 (10 + 3) years was too long, and their contracts were then ruled to be valid up until the lawsuit was filed - this would not have happened without JYJ and Hangeng's lawsuits.
      JYJ had to pay damages for the losses SM suffered when they refused to do activities during the lawsuit, not because SM won. Iirc, no side "won".
      Jaejoong and Junsu have good relations with their current agencies. The other member I do not follow anymore, after finding out the things he has done. It is not dishonourable to want to get out of a 13 year contract that they signed as teenagers - this is something we would never accept in a normal workplace setting, and seeking to change that is not dishonourable. The fact that they were eventually changed - whether you believe it is due to Hangeng, or otherwise, is proof enough of it being too much, despite being legal at the time.
      Jaejoong and Junsu too, are on friendly terms with some Suju members. Jaejoong specifically over the years has also been in contact with members of Red Velvet, SNSD, and recently NCT.
      SM has had most of their early artists leave - H.O.T, Shinhwa, S.E.S, Fly To The Sky, most of TVXQ. It is very telling that they all left, and some have gone on record to say it was specifically because of their disagreements with SM that they disbanded, split, or left . It is the later artists that have stayed, and I can only hope it's because SM has started to learn their lesson, after their earlier artists chose to leave.
      JYP and YG both have artists (2PM and Bigbang) that have stayed with them for 12+ years.
      That's all I'll be saying on this for now, as while we do not entirely disagree, I see we will not see eye to eye. Have a good day!

We continue to witness the spread of hatred by people who harass idols every day , they want to destroy them and try to get inside their minds to make them feel wrong, ugly, inappropriate and if they succeed it is dangerous! SM did not go around telling businesses or channels (some of them bigger and more successful than them) not to work with JYJ or Jessica. Its was/is about money and these companies don't want to lose money working with people that have problems with their business partners. This sort of thing happens across all industries not just in the entertainment industry around the world.

      You don't seem to understand the relationship between SM and the 3 major channels here in Korea then, SM had the upper hand. The way they boycotted Music Bank for a month for wanting to do the performance lineup by chart rankings, but SM would not have that their artists always had to take the finale.

    Although you can understand the good intentions, it's a good thing that the Sulli Act did not pass. All governments throughout the history of the world have long exploited disasters and tragedies to expand their powers to persecute dissidents and activists who challenge hierarchical and oppressive structures. For example, post-9/11, the US government used the tragedy to pass all kinds of laws that stripped people of their fundamental rights, expanding the power of the state and government to commit all kinds of abuses and crimes-like t0rture, war crimes, etc. Imagine how such a law could have been weaponized by wealthy and political elites, like Samsung, or other powerful actors, who have every interest in silencing criticism and activism against their corporation. Already in other countries, like the UK, you have outrageous libel laws that have been used by corporations and government actors to target activists and smaller businesses.
    There's also the misconception that passing laws changes society. That isn't true. Rudolf Rocker eloquently said:
    _“Political rights do not originate in parliaments; they are, rather, forced upon parliaments from without. And even their enactment into law has for a long time been no guarantee of their security. Just as the employers always try to nullify every concession they had made to labor as soon as opportunity offered, as soon as any signs of weakness were observable in the workers’ organizations, so governments also are always inclined to restrict or to abrogate completely rights and freedoms that have been achieved if they imagine that the people will put up no resistance. Even in those countries where such things as freedom of the press, right of assembly, right of combination, and the like have long existed, governments are constantly trying to restrict those rights or to reinterpret them by juridical hair-splitting. Political rights do not exist because they have been legally set down on a piece of paper, but only when they have become the ingrown habit of a people, and when any attempt to impair them will meet with the violent resistance of the populace. Where this is not the case, there is no help in any parliamentary Opposition or any Platonic appeals to the constitution.”_
