    I remember, back in the day, when the Spit was undeveloped. There wasn't much more than old fishing boats, crab pots & the Salty Dawg. Parents would go in & have a beer while us kids ran around outside. I still have photos of the original log bar with moose horns above the door. Probably wouldn't recognize the place today.

    i go to homer almost every summer to visit my grandparents they built those campers 7:54 out of a bus I think and i just love Alaska.

    I spent a whole summer there back in 86 we went to the spit almost every day but lived up on west hill

    Do you remember Red Harrington ? He was a Homer and Alaskan classic bush pilot and neighbor...

      Yes, I once saw him standing naked in his front window with only a Yellow Hard Hat on, a sight I can not un see.

    Unfreaking believable what has been done to screw up the spit.Icicle Seafoods lives on.
