I bought an scanner with the quick/relearn option for my 22 5500 Aisin transmission, so once I finish the transmission flush this need to be done, thanks to this video now I now why it didn’t gave me that option when I plug the scanner, thanks a lot for the video.
Those security gateways are installed all over the place in these Ram trucks within a period of only 4 years or so! Behind the gauge cluster, behind the radio, up alongside the steering column and now here I've learned about another location for my 2020 1500 DS Classic. Haven't found the thing yet.
I have a Autel MX808 i got in 2018 last update 2019 and when I tried to read the 2019 Ram 1500 I had it came back with not able read codes at all. The company i bout it from told me to get the 12×8 plug. Back then that cable was $75 and now $20. I'm glad I held out to by the bypass cable
great video! im planning to add and program a new keyfob with remote start on my 2022 Ram 1500, do I need to connect to that 12+8 connector to program it using alphaobd or I can do that directly on obd2 port? thanks
Hi George, thank you for sharing your knowledge. Would you happen to know where I can find this on my 2022 promaster city? One video I found says it's behind the gas pedal but I don't see it.
Thanks for sharing. Can you enable features using AlfaObd2 software without a bypass? Also, how do you get under there to see what you’re disconnecting and connecting? I’m too fat to squeeze in there. Do I need to take the seat out? 😂
@@brustar5152That's what they tell everyone, but it's really to make it harder for mechanic to diagnose a vehicle, therefore taking it to a stealership.
I found that the top Don artidiAG800BT SAY FAIL but does bypass the sgw my launch can't without. And people were stealing cars or shuting down cars on the free way

Its behind the uconnect 4 display I think
Where was it in thr classic ?
Are they in multiple locations? Or just one. Do you need to uninstall it when done, or can you just leave it for future use?
Where? can't find it in a 2020 classic. @imfloridano5448

Don't have dodge but your chanel is great
Helpful, found mine. Gland did not have to remove instrument cluster
Is there a link for the bypass cable?
Hi George
Great video, and a Question Can you live this 12+8 cable permanently connected in the Ram with the OBD2 Bluetooth on it?
Did u need auto auth to clear codes or connect to the system? And need wifi?

You'll need the cable

What year are the chryslers, Dodge in need of that 12/8 cable?
That the same connection to get the PIN number to program a key fob , like for a 2018 Ram 1500 Big Horn?

I dong have those plugs anywhere under my driver side any other thoughts? I also tried removing the cluter they arent back there either
Total agree. Good video
Thanks very helpful video
Nice video. Thanks. By the way, it’s not a Dodge. It’s a Ram 🤪
can you clear codes with a 2011 cable also?
No cable link?
Trying to use that on a 2018 and that does not look the same different pins
Its the same bypass cable 12×8. SGM modules were installed in FCA vehicles 2017 and up
I have 2021 ram 1500 classic and i not have that connector.
Thanks
thx
Get Autoauth and you don't need cable.
Have to have active subscription on your scan tool to use autoauth. Can be quite costly for some ...
Uh, yeah you do. 2018 and up the module was installed to prevent wireless hacking of remote start and run, unlock etc..

Whwre are these located on a ram promaster 3500??
Mine is 18 promaster 3500. Took every possible panel, can't find it.
I heard somebody said it might be on the steering column. That would be the last place I'll look.
Its close by the obdII port.
They wanted you to buy autoauth

So the TopDon scanner says “failed” but actually works?
