Its simple, there's hardly any head movement in the UFC and ilia Topuria is able to exploit that disadvantage. Hes well-rounded and he might rule for a longtime.
It’s not because of head movement, his boxing is good when combined with his ground threat. Just like how Khabib was dangerous on the ground and made his striking so much more deadly. Now, with ilia, he has a legitimate KO power with really good wrestling compared to others in his division and he decided, let me use my KO power and get insanely good at boxing. Because he doesn’t have to worry about getting taken down and not getting back up. And not to mention, his very high fight IQ!
@khabibmcgregor5386 the head movement I'm talking about is that of his opponents. Most of them back up with their chin high and exposed especially when they are cornered. If he was fighting other elite boxers in a boxing match he wouldn't be able to knock them out this easy cause boxers know how to move their heads. It's the same reason why MMA fighters get knocked out in boxing matches and Ilia Topuria is a high level boxer. To take a fight so soon against a slugger like Topuria was a huge mistake that basically ruined his legacy. He could have been knocked out by a BW in that shape. His fight against Bryce, who had the flu, and who is an absolute tomato can standing up, was hilariously bad. Ilia not only got taken down, he got totally controlled with ease and if that would've happened with 3-4 minutes left, that would have been interesting to see. His fight against Herbert was a good one, but Herbert has only fought people who either have a losing record, or are not even closed to ranked, and every single fighter with SOME credibility have absolutely destroyed him. Emmett-fight was a display in boxing, but Emmett was fed to that animal Topuria. He is so slow and one-dimensional, and the odds before the fight was absolute ridiciolus in the favour of Topuria, we all knew what would happen there. Ryan Hall is the biggest joke and the worst fighter in UFC history. To even match him up against Topuria is something that should render in Dana being in prison. Then we have the Holloway-fight - the first fight against a fighter on a roll, on momentum with some serious credibility. it was extremely even, and both fighters looked great, but Ilias technique but especially his power was the deciding factor. He looked really good and it is from THIS performance and onward we should judge Ilia Topuria. He has had 1 title defence and people are talkinga bout him like a GOAT. It's absolute INSANITY. What is even more insane is the fact that Islam is a HUGE LW, and Topuria is a rather natural LW. The size difference will be insane. Ilias power will not have the same affect in LW as in FW (we have seen so many examples through history were a fighters power has leveled out when going up). And casuals actually think that Topuria will submit or knock Islam Makhachev out with ease? Seriously? When, not IF, Islam gets him down, it's a wrap. It is as simple as that. People must have forgotten what a monster Makhachev is on the ground, just because he has fallen in love with his striking. If i was Topuria, i would fight Diego Lopes next. If he wins that fight, i would make a fight with Islam (but he won't do it because Islam will go up to WW since all casuals will say that "Ilia was the smaller man, islam only fights smaller fighters") so i after that? Who knows. Ilia is not that active, so he can wait for Max to lose his BMF-belt and then fight for that or something, IDK.
Nah, Emmett got completely dominated. The one thing he does have is big time KO power, and he was swinging for the fences until the very end. Topuria respected the power, and he didn't take the risk of trading in the pocket with him. He kept his distance and picked him apart with 1-2 combos.

This shows how good josh emmet is going 5 rounds with topuria he is beast funny that Mitchell almost dead with Josh emmet right hand
Nah, Emmett got completely dominated. The one thing he does have is big time KO power, and he was swinging for the fences until the very end. Topuria respected the power, and he didn't take the risk of trading in the pocket with him. He kept his distance and picked him apart with 1-2 combos.
