I tried them and they didn’t work as well as expected. But, better than nothing. It’s probably just the shape of my face that causes it.
Interesting, since in this vid the difference seems rather stark. Did you notice the difference in the vid? Wondering about ear sensitivity to certain sound frequencies?
Could also be width or placement relative to your ear
Seems like significant difference, based on those tests. Very interesting; thanks!
8:00 - that happens to me a lot. some ppl in cars are homicidal and don't care about bikers.
Thx for testing these, NYK team 🤝
Wow thanks for the tip! I use a pair of Sena Pi's for communicating with my wife during our rides. Wind noise is a big issue at speed. I wonder if these would fit over the Pi's? They're pretty slim but maybe not slim enough.
I have always been worried about my hearing when cycling. The wind noise can get deafening. Thanks!
Huh?
@@XoXo475 When you are traveling at 40+KPH there is a great deal of wind noise I already suffer from tinnitus and wind noise is like white noise covering all frequencies. I worry about my hearing as should you. I have in the past worn hearing protection, but really don't like the isolation.
Other bike 'accessory' ideas for future videos: a loud horn (to communicate to cars), hook for bike helmet, turn signals/brake light...
For the Jeep that passed you, I always take a full lane when turning. Also most drivers don't understand bike 'signals'; there are wireless or wired bike turn signals you should review next.
I wear hearing aids and bike every day. I stream into my hearing aids during my ride, and there is a lot of wind noise (no surprise there). After watching this video, I thought I would give these a try. I found a very slight improvement over not having them at all - and by slight, I mean that I don't have to turn the volume up quite as high to get past wind noise with them on than without. I will use them, but they aren't a panacea for wind noise.
we bike with motorcycle intercom, works great , will try with catears and see how it works...warmth a big plus!
7:40 I wear a "balaclava" when it is cold to keep my face and ears warm. I have one that is the same material as a workout shirt, and also a knitted one
Thanks for the tip! Will definitely buy and try a pair, in a different color 😅 Probably best when placed right in front of your ear, and at least as wide
Would a hairy front of a noisy car glass work to lower sound noise ? 🤔
Neat, but how are they in humid summer
Just ordered a pair thanks !
THANK YOU!!!!
