Thank you so much for helping me through my toughest times. I’d watch you daily. It was so inspiring to watch young people have so much faith; to sing and and having so much faith. That was 4 years ago. Now I’m back, fully healed and rejoicing. God bless you.
Best Version on the Web! The Young Men and Women sing well, great arrangement, and well videoed. Thank you for sharing the talents God gave you with us all.
Very reverent group of young men and women. The future leaders of America. I see a lot of young men in that crowd bound for military service. I wish I could get back in the Army to lead men like this
This is one of my favorite songs!!! it about says it all. I am Catholic and it is sung alot in my Church!!! Thanks for sharing! You are all very talented and devoted to God!!
So glad I found this rendition, so nice, so beautiful, we are indeed blessed! I am so glad I know these songs as my mother would bring us to church every Sunday at St Mary's Catholic Church in Carson City NV. Were she is now asleep. As I long to be with our lord in these last days 2024.
I'm surprised by all the "Catholic" comments. This is a Christian song- period. We all believe the message- who cares who wrote it ( or the church they choose to worship in.) I am A Catholic BTW. Way to go First Baptist Church- what a huge churh you have!
I keep on hoping that when my time comes, I'll enter the kingdom of God and join my friends and family who passed on before me. And also i keep on hoping for the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ.
Why does it matter if it's catholic or not? It's still a beautiful song with great meaning. For those of you who believe in Jesus (i.e. ALL Christians). == Rejoice and Be Glad. Your's is the Kingdom of God.
Yesterday morning, I lost a good friend of mine. He went to the same high school. He was driving and all of a sudden the roads were icy. And crashed and died. So I was filled with grief and sorrow. But now I realize that he's in a better place called Heaven.
"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of right
I agree, David Haas is a very talented and gifted Catholic songwriter. I'm sure he would be the first to say, his songs are written to inspire and be enjoyed by Christians of all denominations. Terrific job kids!
This is a Baptist Youth Choir. Stunning performance. Jesus gave the Beatitudes (Latin for blessings) for everyone, everywhere, for all ages in all times. I’m Catholic btw.
WOW!!! What a wonderful rendition of this beautiful hymn. It is also one of our favourite hymns in our parish. Thanks for sharing and God bless you all. :-)
As a Catholic I apologize for James Tidwell "Forgive them, for they know not what they do". Absolutely beautiful choir and people!! Keep inspiring us! Thank you for your light!
Such deep, lovely musicality! Thank you so much to all who made this video possible. These young people showed how true the saying is - singing is twice praying!
Lyrics: 1. Blest are they, the poor in spirit; theirs is the kingdom of God. Blest are they, full of sorrow, they shall be consoled. Refrain: Rejoice and be glad! Blessed are you; holy are you! Rejoice and be glad! Yours is the Kingdom of God! 2. Blest are they, the lowly ones; they shall inherit the earth. Blest are they, who hunger and thirst; they shall have their fill. (Refrain) 3. Blest are they who show mercy; mercy shall be theirs. Blest are they, the pure of heart; they shall see God! (Refrain) 4. Blest are they who seek peace; they are the children of God. Blest are they who suffer in faith, the glory of God is theirs. (Refrain) 5. Blest are you who suffer hate all because of me. Rejoice and be glad, yours is the kingdom, shine for all to see. (Refrain)
Christian first. Catholic (denomination) comes later. All of us are one in the Lord. And God bless the many gifts of this choir. Please do not sully the name of the Our Lord with your derogatory remarks.
+Tim Palleschi False. The early church behaved as Catholic. Catholics are in fact Christian and sanctioned by Jesus Christ himself. The disciples were united in their thoughts. There was no diversity whereby this disciple was Lutheran-like and this disciple was Baptist-like, etc. History of Christianity debunks sola scriptura and sola fide. I would recommend anyone contemplating Christianity to read books about St. Ignatius of Antioch and Clement of Rome. Decide for yourself! =)
Catholic is not a denomination! Denominations come from Luther those who broke away from the Church! The Universal ( Catholic) came first, next the breaking away ( denominations) which call themselves Christians. Name Christian also comes from the Catholic Church. As all songs originated by the Church and the original Bible! Praise be to God!
James Tidwell I figured it out. The gals are close to the edge of the stage and its steps and by wearing high heels there would be a risk in slipping and falling. Barefeet can easily detect the stage and step edges. I guess I answered my own question. On the other hand, why not do a different maneuver/formation that doesn't involve literally going to the stage drop-off edges and step edges?
+James Tidwell Totally disagree. They in no way made this song about themselves by removing their shoes. I am Catholic and witnessed many celebrations when liturgical dance was part of it. All the dancers, men and women did not wear shoes in some of the more solemn pieces. Did you miss the part in the bible where it says "dance before the Lord" ? It's all over the book of Psalms. King David even danced for God in the temple.
This makes me want the Eucharist right now! - But seriously, it makes me think of those who are the Living Eucharist to me.
Very beautiful to see all these young men and women sing and glorify God in the way!! Blessings to them.
Thank you so much for helping me through my toughest times. I’d watch you daily. It was so inspiring to watch young people have so much faith; to sing and and having so much faith. That was 4 years ago. Now I’m back, fully healed and rejoicing. God bless you.

Catholic here. Beautiful 🥰
The beatitudes give such hope. Thank you, Jesus. Lovely rendition.
I see a lot of folks on here referencing their faith. I respect it. I'm a straight-up atheist, and this song still speaks to me. I wish you grace.
Very reverent group of young men and women. The future leaders of America. I see a lot of young men in that crowd bound for military service. I wish I could get back in the Army to lead men like this
Nah gay people are leaders of America

David haas composer writes music for the Catholic Church. PS, check out the song , You Are Mine, David Haas.
Amen to this.
The Beatitudes are Christian.
I wish we'd get less hung up on differences and more focused on similarities ❤ We are all Christians ❤
this is the saddest song... played at my son's funeral, it is beautiful but makes me cry
I keep on hoping that when my time comes, I'll enter the kingdom of God and join my friends and family who passed on before me. And also i keep on hoping for the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ.
That is what has been promised , Alan. Your hope will be fulfilled.
Why does it matter if it's catholic or not? It's still a beautiful song with great meaning. For those of you who believe in Jesus (i.e. ALL Christians). == Rejoice and Be Glad. Your's is the Kingdom of God.
It’s probably because the Baptist church is typically very anti-Catholic yet they sing a Catholic song amongst other things started by the Church! Lol
LOTS OF LOVE AND BLESSINGS TO ALL

I AGREE! Excellent. I got goosebumps listening to it.
This hymn is in our Lutheran hymnal and sung regularly. One of my favorite hymns.

all because of me.
Rejoice and be glad, yours is the kingdom,
shine for all to see.
(Refrain)
Great version of a classic church song.
I love the chorus treatment of these wonderful songs.
I loved this so much I had to download it onto my MP3 player.

This is superb - so uplifting.
Awesome job!! Love the song and the performance!!
I think this would make a great funeral song.
We had it played at my sister's Memorial and my Mother's funeral.
Part beginning at 1:53, very nice sound.
+bus114 Love the harmony there too!
Inspirational!
Lindo, lindo!!!
Your cool im proud of you.
I thought this was a good rendition, but the hand movements were what really tied the whole performance together.
Nice Catholic hymn! One of the best I have seen/heard....minus the barefoot...that's kind of distracting in a way. Good Job!
Is this available on a cd? I love this arrangement.

Shut your mouth. How dare you visit this video just to hate. Disgusting

Where can I find the music that you used for this song?
What was the purpose of the gals not wearing shoes when it was their turn to do the sign language thing?
Not wearing shoes makes them look and feel special. It's all about them and not the God they claim to worship....typical protestants.
It's a great piece. Too bad they had to ruin it.
James Tidwell
They didn't ruin it. It was great. Did you find the bare feet thing bad?
+James Tidwell Totally disagree. They in no way made this song about themselves by removing their shoes. I am Catholic and witnessed many celebrations when liturgical dance was part of it. Bravo! Excellent< t is such a joy to hear all these lovely voices united in song. thanks for uploading this on UA-cam. Blessings and peace to all! :D
