I'm they guy screen left in the maroon disco suit. This shoot was totally fun! If you can believe it (HA!) we made up those amazing dance moves on the spot. Everybody was really great to work with.
Memories. My AP Bio teacher showed us this, and the PCR song back in 2011, don't remember if this was at the start of the year or after we took the AP test and had nothing else to do, either way she has a great sense of humor.
The last video taught us that this can't take place in the 1970's, back then PCR wasn't invented so if you wan'ted to "amplify DNA you had to grew tons and tons of tiny cells".
The four different nucleotide bases that are found in DNA: Guanine, Thymine, Cytosine & Adenine. This song is about PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) - a technique commonly used in labs nowdays to make many thousands (if not millions) of copiesof any DNA strand. Amazing technology ^_^
Well, In theory it doubles the DNA with each cycle, so even typical 20-25 cycles give us 2^20 (1,048,576) or 2^25 (33,554,432) copies, however, real number of copies will differ for each particular PCR due to the fact that reaction reaches plateau phase, so 40 cycles won't really end up in ~1.1 trillion copies and may look a bit messy on the gel.
There are five more components to PCR, I think they could do with five more songs like these, I mean honestly at least do one for primers or buffers. ;)
I am willing to pay Bio Rad just to make more of these.
Not sure what's nerdier. The song makers or me for knowing what the lyrics mean.
+Doul Of course! Everyone gets it in high school, right?
+Jacen T. The nerdy part is that this is an actual advertisement from a serious bio company
That is indeed true.
Nope, it’s not self-evident. If u didn’t choose Biology as one of ur advanced courses u don’t talk about it that thoroughly
Thanks, my motivation is back ! Let's smash that biology exam !
Did you ever pass
@@frostytoes7711 i also want to know
My biology teacher showed my class this today...
Jasper Smits van Waesberghe same here
Same here from Hong Kong
Same but he did 4 days ago ... And I live in France. This song is awesome !
Jasper Smits van Waesberghe same here
Same here from Germany 😂
That's arguably the best BioRad add I've seen so far, despite the fact we mostly have their electrophoresis chambers and order our primers elsewhere.
Just enjoying the song in September 2024

"These letters also spell DAN"
Way to think of a rhyme ;)

Same (but I was 2009).

This has been out for ten years, and it still makes me laugh out loud.
Biology exam tomorrow! With this, I think I'm totally set :D
Bio-Rad is a fantastic place to work.
This is awesome. I'm not even sure how I found this video. I think I will put this on at parties and see if anyone notices.
Epic. When I grow up I wanna work for Bio-Rad!
AP bio
omg lol
this is the best way to teach it
Ronnie825 that's only a advertisement 😂

I love nerds
my biology teacher showed us this today
I hope from the bottom of my heart that this song and approach will not die, as being pure proof of happiness and joy which science might give.
Our biology teacher showed us this in class today. It's absolutely fantastic. 😂
Seems pretty old, yet I just discovered this song.
And I must say... GGGGGGGTCA !
Who else broke down at "These letters also spell DAN"
TheSecurian Vanossers lets go
@@hidingman3578 rest acquiesced, blessed comment.
Seriously, is that the protein? Clearly my biology is not that level yet.
This song both taught me something and had me interested in enzymes and how GTCA speeds up the process
Thanks for showing us this Ms. Jacobsen..... Just we needed.......
Bio-Rad make some of the best ads ever.
Remember they pair as G-C and T-A
our honors bio teacher played this and i instantly learned what this all was:]
I'm a student in biology, and i approve this video.
awesome and quite simple. its just heating, and cooling, and heating... and then repeat.
*Taq Polymerase, named after the bacterium it was extracted from: T. aquaticus (Thermus aquaticus) :)
Is that the specific enzyme they're referring to? I might have missed the specific reference in the song.
懐かしい(So long to see again)
All jokes aside, thanks for getting me interested in DNA
this is probably one of the funnyest things i've ever seen ! GTCAAAAAA
Much love for this song... Much love!
my science teacher: 🤣🤣🤣
this song makes me crazy!!!!
I actually love this. God help me.

fantastic.
My Biology lecturer just played this song in the lecture today !
love this! ❤
Awesome! This reminds me of Carlton from fresh prince singing this tune but about peacocks 😂
If your in Ms.Hays class and came back to this, HEY it’s William😏
Holy cheese... this is wonderful.

Great goose bumps raised
Excellent! Very funny and uplifiting.
Well it was my best choice ever to go on a Biotechnology School. That will be our song when we finish school
its the greatest video e-v-e-r !
People at biorad came in today and showed us this.
same at my school
This is driving me crazyyyyyyy.....
well, that escalated quickly.....
love iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit !!

LOVE IT!
The best way to study for a biotech test ;)
WHY HAS THIS NOT GONE VIRAL
ALSO, THESE LETTERS ALSO SPELL DAN
It did use the soundtrack from that song, they just used it with the singing removed. :) Have a nice day.
I think of this every time that science hating former president 45 plays YMCA
How did i come across this.... o.o
wooo! my biology teacher played this in class today! :D
being an AP bio student is just epic
Merci à la faculté de Médecine Lyon-Est d'avoir mis ça en amphi ahahahaha !
+Syrine-San 愛 A Nantes, notre prof de bio-mol a mis ça en lien...
ahahaha c'est quand tu vois que tu ris sur ce genre de vidéo que tu sais que tu es passé du côté obscur... #HumourDeScientifique
our teacher made us watch this in class today :D learned a lot.....haha
Awesome! Science! Thanls. :)
Oh Randolph!
I can feel the DNA lol
so many times yes
My biology professor showed this in class 🤣
My bio teacher showed this to us
THIS IS WHY NOBODY TAKE US SERIOUSLY
Hey this is better than the DNA rap!

I think the human race has peaked.
What exactly are the uses of creating new DNA strands?

That actually doesn't shock me - most people don't know what's good. :)
what's the name of original song?

Dropped biology and absolutely hated it, but something has mysteriously pulled me back to this 🤨
too funny . :D
