Once I remove the three cables as you did, you left them not connected and only plugged in the MMI part only leaving the others hang loose?

Thank you for this video! It worked perfectly! I'm so happy to have all my other radio and camera back on!!!! A million thanks again!
You save me so much time. I was about to call the company and say they sent me the wrong connector for the Bluetooth module before I saw your talking about the cover being on it and then I realized that that must be the case. So thank you. You save me probably a week's time and I will see if the repair works. Thanks awesome content, much appreciated

thank you very much i got my radio back, i took it in several electrician mechanic and it didn't solve the problem, and with your video i got it on my own, i'm happy i have an audi a6 3.2 wagon 2006
Well done! 👍🏽😎
I have watched many videos from you! The way you explain everything is so great! Your efforts have given me the confidence to work on my 2006 A6 (C6). I've done a brake job (rotors & pads all around), changed O-rings on the variable timing solenoids (which stopped a massive oil leak the previous owner hadn't addressed), that led me to have a go at detailing the engine bay last weekend. Also, the MMI has been giving me issue ever since I took ownership two years ago. I've replaced the battery (under warranty) at least 4 or 5 times, thinking that the battery was faulty after the drain from the bad MMI. It was the Sirius radio transmitter that was bad! I bought a $10 fiber optic loop off amazon and swapped it out last weekend, came right back on just like your video! thanks so much brother! Keep your 2005 going and the videos coming! Thank you so much!
I am so glad these videos are helpful! Thank you so much for the positive feedback 😊
Great video. Thanks! Trying to diagnose MMI issue on my 2014 A8/D4. Great description of the MOST ring!

I’ve been driving without my MMI for over a year now and I just performed this exact job on my car verbatim from your video. Sure enough my MMI is operating normal again (without Sirius Radio of course) Thank you so much for all of these detailed and incredibly informative videos. If there isn’t something I can fix myself, your videos at minimum help me diagnose my car properly and allow me to provide a mechanic/technician with much better insight. Thank you for your much appreciated help.

Mine was exactly same. Sirius radio bad. But after bypassing it I have no volume on radio so got to figure that out.
👍🏻 Agree
@@UptownFights what could cause the radio to not be heard?
5:32 yes you are right,. That`s the XM radio, my car came without and without navigation as well, I ended up buying a used DVD Nav. for around $40 USD and used the XM Radio link cable to connect it to the antenna since it had one there already, I didn't have the XM Radio module anyway, and I didn`t want to purchase a "fakra cable" and run it trough since it had one there but wasn't used anyway...
I ended up not using the navigation either, Waze can't beat yet by anything.
But in the end, I purchase an MP3 Module ($140 at that time, in 2018), I place it in the glove box, upper wall compartment and I am able to play music from a Micro SD card or via Bluetooth from my phone, but I prefer from Micro SD card since it plays at 320kb like CD quality. Works with MMI interface, it displays songs on the LCD you can play/pause from the MMI console buttons which is just great!
Good video I will try that my self thank you my friend 👍
Mate what a great vid...banging tunes by the way. Nice one😎😎

I used a Bypasser on the XM module back in 2018 when it happened to me. Dealership was trying to tell me it was the amp or something different but I didn’t believe them and I was right
Well done! 👍🏾
Great video ty! I wish I could see a video of how to bypass all of the MM1 ring options
Thanks! To bypass all the MMI ring modules, you do the same. You make sure you disconnect to power and the fiber connections and you plug in the bypass device. I am curious. Why do you want to do this?

My Audi a6 2005 MMI went out. What fuse or fuses location
Any chance you can inform me with the price and where to find that part for a Audi A6 3.2 Quattro 07? You’ve been very helpful I’m from Sierra Leone west Africa
Hello to Sierra Leone! I bought it from this seller on eBay: www.ebay.com/itm/322387179056 Here is the part number if you want to buy it from Audi or from another source: 4E0 973 802
Hello there I have a question so the middle bottom and knobes aren’t working anymore
That happened to me too. I let somebody use the car for a while. When I took the car back, the middle MMI knob was not working well. He probably did not know how to use it and tried to tilt it. When I removed the knob, it was broken. I replaced it with another one and it fixed the problem.
Try removing the knob to inspect it. To remove it, pull it up. It has a sort of spring and a plastic ring under it. If the plastic ring is broken, you have to replace to knob. To install a new one, just push it in.
Thanks for the video. It's very rewarding. Please can you make a video on how to remove the optic cable from the back of the satellite module..? Does it require a special tool to remove the fiber optics port?
No you do not need any special tool. It is very simple. There is a tab inside the plug like most plugs. You just press the tab with your thumb, slightly push the plug in then pull the plug out.
@@ThatAfricanGuy awesome! Thank you!!

@@JustGameEverything You have a sharp eye. I just had a look and you are right! They actually used some of my videos. The one with my car I recorded it myself and another one showing the beautiful beach from above and another one driving through the city. They probably did not add my channel name because I deleted my old channel where I posted a lot of videos about Togo a year ago.
yep had this issue and got rid of the car as it wouldnt even start (had a major electronics fail)
Sorry about that. Which car did you replace it with?
I have a 2008 Audi A6 3.2, and the battery died in it, I bought a after market radio installed it and then the radio and screen which displays the back up camera stoped working please sir what can I do to fix it.. I have taken it to multiple Audi dealerships and it has not been fixed..
You have to remove the aftermarket stuff and put things back the way they were. You should start from there.
My MMI came on but went back off. I bought the fiber loop and disconnected the sirus loop connector and put it in the same spot like you did in the vid. But I did the same thing for the amp and it came on but no sound 😂. Soo maybe do I need a new amp🙃🤔
Are you saying the MMI stayed on when you bypassed the amp? If that's the case, yes, you may need a replacement amp.
Did you put the grey box back in after the mmi started working again?
No. The grey box is going bad. I replaced it with he loopback connector.
@@ThatAfricanGuy yep I did just that but the mmi still sis not work when I start the car the mmi comes up but cuts right off.. so I guess the mmi module is bad I'll try that next I guess..
@@mr3one4 As explained in the video, there are other modules that could cause the MMI to crash. Bypass them one by one and test the MMI every time. Make sure you disconnect the modules power connector when bypassing them.
The mechanic removed the MMI fuse 5 amp. I didn't see where the fuse came out of which panel box. I'm guessing the fuse must be reinstalled. Please post where to insert it. Thanks
I apologize for the delay. There are several fuses related to the MMI. I am not sure which one your mechanic removed. Maybe you should ask them?
@@ThatAfricanGuy he removed only one, a yellow 5amp fuse from the passenger side.
Very good content keep it up. I have a question about the same car. The CD/Radio sound cuts out every 20 seconds or so for about 10 seconds then the sound comes back normal. What causes that to happen? Thanks a lot.
If you replaced the CD player with a used one taken off another car, the car will reject it. To make the car accept it, you should have component protection reset on the CD player at an Audi dealership. I believe component protection is to prevent theft. Some other electronic parts also have component protection.
@@ThatAfricanGuy No it is the original that came with the car. FM and CD both cuts out the sound then comes back normal. Not sure if the MMI module broken or not. Thanks a lot for the help
If the CD player was not replaced, inserting the key and turning on the ignition is enough to fix the intermittent sound disruption 😉
@@yassergf1904 If the MMI was having issues, you wouldn't have a working display. If you are sure nobody replaced your CD player without you knowing, and if inserting the key and turning on the ignition does not fix the problem, I would recommend disconnecting the CD player and reconnecting it to make sure it is well plugged in. @@ThatAfricanGuy where can I buy the MMI loop bypass device and where can I buy it
Thank you for the video and I wonder if you can help. I have a 2007 A6 2.7 Tdi in UK and it too now has MMI problems. The screen stays on ok but works super slow and doesn't complete any tasks on any system. The radio switches in and out every 5 seconds. I bypassed the Sat Nav, Amp and FM radio units in the back with the fibre optic loop but its still not working. (I haven't looped the CD auto changer as it looks hard to get to in the glove box). It also makes the same quiet popping sound as yours did from the speakers but I don't have the Sirius sat radio unit. I had a slightly sticky button for years but it all worked fine. I removed the centre console to clean the button and took out the MMI board to check it, and it looked ok. I still got the popping sound even with the board out.
Do you have any ideas. Thanks in Advance
You may be having a component protection problem. Has the cd player/radio been replaced with a used one taken from another car?
No its the original cd player....I've owned the car 12 years
@@adamharland7716 Maybe the sticky button damaged the MMI board? I am not sure but based on what you explained, the next thing I would do is replace the MMI board.
@@ThatAfricanGuy Hello again. I got the CD player out and isolated it with the loop so not that. I've now changed the mmi board too and the fault is still there.....I'm running out of options. The speaker popping sound is the same as yours
@@adamharland7716 This is sad news. If all components are fine then there may be a broken fiber optic cable somewhere but this is complicated to locate. I don't even know where to start.
