But hey, you also have the right of getting offended for no reason at all, that's absolutely up to you :D
Early queen sacrifice was only the warm-up. Not bothering to capture a queen for free. Castle check. Chasing the king to the far corner of the board by force. Multiple options for beautiful checkmates. Black never even moved a piece on his queen side. Incredible game even if he was 40 years older.
It's like the battles in medieval era and before, where the army isolated the enemy king with it's personal guards, and killed him. Beautiful checkmate but respect also to the opponent that continued playing instead of resigning.
Eero Einar Böök (9 February 1910 - 7 January 1990). Probably would have gained more recognition if not for WW II. Yeah, we'd like to see his game against Alekhine.
When this 14 y/o does it its "a brilliant move" and "he's such a genius prodigy" but when i do it it's "a stupid blunder" and "i should either quit chess or learn how to stop hanging my queen"
The difference between a blunder and a brilliant move lies in how they force the opponent to worsen their position with every response. Blunders are just free pieces; brilliant moves come with poison.
The game is amazing and this is noticeable .. But the most wonderful and beautiful is the way you explain .. You are an unnatural artist .. You deserve the Palme d'Or and the Oscar together .. Thank you, you made me happy on this day. I hope that all your coming days and the days of all your followers will be happy ..God bless you all🙏
An absolutely beautiful game played there. The queen was majestic and the checkmate sequence was wow. Love the video Zach and thanks for showing us a game which all of us probably haven't seen before ❤️
When this 14 year old kid sacrifices his queen, he is an 'upcoming legend.' When I 'sacrifice' my queen, i'm a 'completely idiot' and i need to 'quit chess.'
alien level chess IQ, I would never though about this, but seeing these kinds of play opens up lots of future possibilities, thanks for posting this game.
When white plays e5 at 2:44, it's marked as a mistake. I think it's better to take the pawn (with pawn or queen) or bring the bishop out to attack the queen. Black would end up with many trapped pieces and pins because of mate threats. (The black knight is in a really silly place trying to stop the bishop getting to f7, so you don't need to attack it with the pawn. It's effectively dead already).
Great video! Name pronunciation was completely off the rails, though.😅 Eero is somewhat close to "aero". For the öö in Böök, it's close to 'u' in British "further".
Yes, I have been correct by a great chess historian on this one and will pronounce better (certainly now that Böök is phonetically “Beuk”). I have a question - aero pronounced “airo” or “a-e-ro” ? thanks!
"airo" is close. The actual wovel sound doesn't occur in English, but think of e in "let" and stretch it to roughly double length. Or if you speak German, it's like "eh" in "sehr".
6:00 but it's not piece up after White takes the queen with Bishop, Black Bishop h6 check the king have to move and Rook can simply capture that bishop

If I was playing this as white, I would have gotten nervous once black king took white light squared bishop, and doubted ability to force mate. Taking the queen right away would still have been awesome tactic... skewering right after sacrificing queen, and forcing black king forward is great in and of itself. Unbelievable that anybody could see that far ahead and see they could force mate, while losing light squared bishop no less.
Hi, Finn here, his name is actually Böök and it's not pronounced anything like "Book". But otherwise a great vid of one of the best Finnish players of all time :)
7:24 You’re completely misreading this position, and missing forced mate. King b6 is forced mate by Bishop e3 (not the rook to b5 move you looked at). King forced to c6, light squared bishop to b5 is mate.
@@TheJoacojoacoBc5 ends in mate anyway after the bishop is taken by white’s dark sq bishop. Or, Knight c to a4? I’m pretty certain there’s a mate either way c5 I didn’t even think of, to be honest. Wouldn’t it still be mate though? Take with rook and move knight next move for checkmate?
Wow. That's one of the funniest and yet most impressive games I've seen. How does one spell this Finnish champion's name? I was having a hard time looking him up online.
I once sacrificed my queen in a few moves on a person I used to not be able to defeat he is much older than me but me in was a minor back then and so is now that queen sac was an unstoppable force of checkmate blasting through the board the flowers are blooming the sun is shining it's speed Up 4 times everything nice it was so beautiful I'm

I'm surprised he even had a queen at age 14 lol.

Just like Mikhail Tal's games.
I don't care
@mcyeetail9549 you seemed to care enough to leave a comment
I really started playing chess at 14 and here is this amazing player finding such awesome combos at 14... Would love to see more of his games
He really wanted the king to see his horse at home.
By move 7 I’m still doing book moves but this guy just gets brilliants and greats…
Book moves is better than blunders i would rather have 7 book moves than 7 blunders in the start of the game it's possible
what i mean is that my oppos always know theory and dont blunder straight away lol@@B682
Try the haxo gambit brilliant bishop sacrifice at move 6 and many 1000 elo players fall for it

I really like this guy for explaining everything in detail and inspiring me to play chess every day
Love these old games; they really show how to attack & are excellent material for developing one’s tactical sense
This game reminds us that there are some brilliant chess players in the early times... Few were recognized and some were buried to oblivion...
Great explanation,

So what. I sacrificed my queen thousands of times. The only difference is that I didn't win afterwards.
It s not a queen sac if you can take it back by force
If you play chess turn back, if you are clueless this is for you.
Once the king is in that far to enemy territory the end is not that far off but if the king finds sanctuary the tables can be turned
