Ay this might be the sign that I listen to too much coke rap…heard “brick” and instantly started thinking caine 😂 But bro that’s OD!! Really the whole song - the pen was in killer instinct mode. It’s crazy cus it’s was rapping like this that turned me into a hip hop head 15+ years ago. I remember it was a website (wayyy before genius) that would break down all the entendres of a Lupe lines - and that’s when it clicked for me that rap can be a lot more than just the radio songs I was used to. Excellent album dawg. Hoping it gets the spots light it deserves. Salute 💪🏾
I really appreciate you for making these videos, both for introducing me to new music and for expanding my understanding of some music that i already know that I like. You're making an extremely high quality product.
The channel doesn’t go without y’all bro! I Preciate that and the fact that it’s people like you who love the genre the way I do is the only reason this channel is what it is. Preciate your support 🙏🏾
top reaction man! Think this is up there with some of Mick's best work. Also you've got great insight into these bars off 1st listen, crazy quick brain g
Ayyyy Preciate that!! 🙌🏾 I haven’t heard all his joints - I particular gotta go check out pieces of a man…but based on what I have heard, this his best joint! From the other albums I heard, he’s flashed an elite pen but I haven’t heard him do it so consistently for the whole project, plus he doesn’t compromise his musicality and the songs still sonically sound dope! Maaan Preciate that! I used to be super big into battle rap and I think that got my ear trained lol. I remember when I first started watching, a rapper would say some crazy double entendre and a room full of a thousand people would go crazy, but I wouldn’t get it til 5 mins later 😂
One touch to this album I loved is the end of the album where Mick is just speaking about being patient and "tryna have more of that". The aggression throughout Mick's verses on here gets boiled down into this incredibly reflective and tender moment after he's non-stop slamming it on every track. It's sick af, and is coming from a place where he knows who he is and is still looking to grow.
mick is one of my favorites because he finds a way to uniquely link a string of bars together. you’ll wait a couple lines and then all the sudden the next 4 are all crazy and are connected to one another. need the pieces of a man reaction 🙏
Big ol facts! It was so many lines where they woulda been sick one lines but he just takes it and keeps building on it. Only few people in the game can pen like that - guys like ab-soul (when he was in his prime) and Lupe. Thats great company for him to be in.
You are a master at doing this. Your analysis is much appreciated and your vibe is so dope. You transformed this project to even more elite status. Instant like and subscribe

My guy! Preciate you tapping in! I peeped the review you dropped - i Fasho see where you coming from (dope review too btw). For me, there a lot that I love about hip hop but nothing gets me as hype as really clever punchlines and super witty wordplay and it was so back to back on this project. Probably why I’m higher on the new noname joint than a lot of folks too. My opinion on mick prio to this album lined up with yours but if he keeps rapping like this, I can see him climbing up my list of fav rappers. Bro live stream was fun af - hopefully you keep those up - would love to tune in on fridays!
After his previous, more mellow albums, I was so unprepared for Mick to sound so hungry with the wordplay & all these entendres on like, every got damn bar. Holy shit. 10/10 🔥

Mick Jenkins is that dude but I definitely thought this album wasn’t enough for a two/three year wait. Solid 7 in my books! I can’t wait to book a ticket to a concert

Word! I haven't heard that joint! My intro was The Waters but I heard it in like 2019. Then I listed to his joints that came out after 2019. Ima check that one out!

Bro that line is so cold!! I was hoping other folks felt the same way bout it! Mick was on one this album dawg - and this comin from someone who hasn’t historically been the biggest mick fan
Hahah bruh knew I couldn’t be the only one! That song is OD! On first listen, I thought Michelin star or show and tell would be my fav songs, but pasta def been my most listened to joint off this
You shoulda seen it before the editing 😂😂 I ended up chopping this down a hood but cus I couldn’t justify my video being longer than the actual album lmao
On Pasta, that 2nd Hand line was a Quad Entendre. It’s the 3 you said, plus thrift thing, 2nd hand smoke, as in referring to how mainstream rappers all recycle the same music (thrifting, 2nd hand) and all sound the same, so I’ll pass 😤😣
Bro I know it’s all regional but that’s sound so weird to me lmao. Less hearts and diamonds than clubs seem so off compared to how I’m used to lol! Where I’m from most old heads play ace high but folks my age play joker joker duece duece. I prefer joker joker duece duece, cus the 16 spades and 12 every other suite make the game way more unpredictable.

Objectively I can agree. But I mean that’s the most aggressive I’ve heard him rap, it was a nice departure from the mick that I know. I enjoyed hearing the change 🤷🏾♂️
Smh most of this album, Mic was yelling like he's Sauce Walka. So, the smooth beats didn't match his."aggression". Not sure why he named this record "Patience", but he was screaming all over the place. Very disappointed in this release. Go back to being smooth, Mick!
Hell nah he had to show niggas on this album I love his aggressive cadence and voice it reminds me of how perfectly Joey bada$$ did the same thing on 95 til infinity and also I feel his lyrics more when he attacks the beats like this. But agree to disagree no judgment on your opinion.
