    Did you drive to operating temperature first, then turned off the engine? After that connected VCDS and started the ignition and only let it be on idle?
    Is it also possible to measure with cold engine? Would it change from "Disabled" to "enabled"?

    • @diagvids
      @diagvids  6 місяців тому

      I measured it immediately after starting, the engine was around 20 degrees Celsius warm from the start.
      When the lambda sensor starts working, the measurement jumps from disable to enable.

    If this problem occurs (on cylinder 4 - 1.4 TSI engine) even after replacing sparkplugs and coils, what else might be the cause? Thanks in advance

    • @diagvids
      @diagvids  2 роки тому +2

      If it's always the same cylinder, then it could be the injector or there's a lack of compression. Occurs when the exhaust valves do not close properly

    What do the numbers indicating the cylinder with ignition failure mean? If these numbers are 1 or 2, can we still think that there is a misfire in the cylinder? What should these numbers be? Would these numbers be different on a cold engine and a warm engine? I also made the same measurements. The number 1 appears for a short time on cylinder number 4, then it becomes 0 again.

    • @diagvids
      @diagvids  2 роки тому +1

      The numbers mean there was a misfire. ideally there must always be a 0, both in the cold and in the warm state. try swapping the spark plug and ignition coil across and see if the error moves.

    I have vcds 22.10 I believe and I don't see the misfire options. This is with a 2.0 tdi touran 2005. I had one error saying cyl4 misfire p0304. The car runs like crap, white smoke at startup and stuttering sometimes while driving. Any ideas?

    • @diagvids
      @diagvids  Рік тому

      the misfire options are not displayed on your model. What you can do is swap the pump nozzle cylinder 4 with cylinder 1 across. if the error moves with you then you have found the error.

    Do you just change the coil pack to fix the problem?

    • @diagvids
      @diagvids  4 місяці тому

      In this case it was the ignition coil, but there can be various causes. The best thing to do is to swap the parts such as the ignition coil, spark plug or injection valve and observe the measured value block after the swap.

      First you can check the basics.
      replace the ignition coil and spark plug with another cylinder and check whether the error moves with it.
      Also for your information: these engines have problems with carbon build-up on the intake valves, which can also cause misfires.

    Question, I got a 1.4l tsi with no dtc error codes for misfires, and "Misfires per 1000 revolutions" is 0 for all cylinders, just like "Total misfires" is also 0, yet "Numb.of misfir.: cylinder x"is an insanely high number for all 4 cylinders, and still increasing after changing both spark plugs, coils, and gasfilter, do you have any idea maybe why those numbers are increasing, when all the other ones remain 0?

    • @diagvids
      @diagvids  Рік тому

      this is very unusual. There are cases where all cylinders will increasing the misfire counter but if the problem is only at idle then the carbon could be on the valves. Is a very common problem on TSI.

    • @-a6833
      @-a6833 Рік тому

      @@diagvids Yea I was wondering about that, I mean, it's not the spark plugs, not the coil pack, not the fuel filter, at which point the only thing I can think of is all 4 injectors, or carbon on the intake valves.. But the thing is, when I say "insanely high number", I mean all 4 cylinders have like over 6000 misfires each, yet the car is not throwing any error code, really weird..
      Do you think it could be carbon buildup? The car has only run about 80.000km
