Me oh my! Chris, of all the videos of yours I Love this one the most. I want to go there. Hey, when you two were distracted by Mr Toad, to (our left) of him was a nice yooperlight you missed. Bri, I'm in Northern California and want to know what is the best time to go looking for yooperlites in Northern Michigan or what months to avoid? It may sound silly, but looking at those awesome stones gives me joy. I am not on facebook or instagram. Is there another way to view your art and perhaps purchase something with yooperlite? Even the name is joyful, right?
      No worries either way. Where there's a will, there's a way. : )

I stood exactly where you were walking in the beginning of this video. And what I was told is that you'd be in the wrong area where those rocks are found. I could be wrong. Maybe she was talking about one area specifically by her.
Ps. While there we ran into some guy and he told us not to be walking around the woods area of the UP from dusk to dark that strange things happen after dark. He told us that you can't see your hands in front of your face and to always make sure you have 3 ways to start a fire. Which i already knew about all this. Pretty much its another missing 411 case. Be careful

They are actually related to granite. I mean, they're cousins! Yooperlite is made of Syanite which is cooled magma with inclusions of Fluorescent Sodalite. But they hardly have any quartz in them at all. Granite is made the same way, just with no sodalite and lots of quartz.
