No... Last time he won with the support of congress because his party was in alliance with Congress. This time, even though BJP is in alliance, local BJP never supported him.

Their is a slight error in the narration by The Print. Mr Deve Gowda was Prime-Minister in 1996-97, while still being a part of Janata Dal albeit as a compromise candidate, which was a national party. JD(S) was formed only in July 1999 but has remained a State level party ever since its birth. So by being a PM Mr Deva Gowda did not really lose much in Karnataka. The fact is that the JD(S) has always been a somewhat marginal player and more or less on the sidelines, even within the State of Karnataka. The vote or seat share gained by them has been much short of what is needed to be a dominant party.

At one point Shakuni himself suggested to give half of the kingdom to Pandav. We have not seen it in the BR Chopra's version. Also some misconception on Karna will get cleared (not that you mentioned it but assuming like most of us have of Karna)

The ruling party knew the videos were in circulation but kept silent not wishing to trigger a Kuruba vs Gowda conflict and alienate Gowda voters. Siddaramaiah is a Kuruba and a former lieutenant of Deve Gowda. Consequently it's DK Shivakumar, a Gowda, who has been fielded to attack the JD(S).

So whether scandal or not this party would have collapsed. Secondly Devegowda never realized his clan is not smart as jhats of North or Reddys of South.
The videos apparently show both dad HD Revanna and Prajwal engaged in SA against women. Prajwal was seen as a better young politician than his cousin Nikhil who was a typical rich political kid. Such an irony.

It's not possible for any govt to stop crime like sexual assault which take place inside the four walls in a private residence/pavillion but it is possible for every govt to arrest the perpetrator once the case comes to light. In any case, if the perpetrator flee from the country after he is being accused in the case or roaming scot free then the seriousness of the incumbent govt to let women live freely is in question.

Nothing will happen to him. Just another case will be running against in court. This suspension will be revoked. If he wins this election again then nobody can harm him. This is not a rape case but a sexual assault so difficult for any one to prove it. He will get bail immediately. But fact of the matter is he has not even spared the party workers wives , what will be the more of the party workers.
