Tristan, Thank you for mentioning the Chinese and their role in building the West. The Basque history was interesting too. Your history tidbits really add to your videos! 🌲🌲🌲
Most definitely agree.
Yep the Basque were a huge part of the West especially the Great Basin, you can still hear Basque spoken in places like Jordan Valley Oregon.
I agree; very well done 👍🏼 Tristan
Thanks for mentioning the history of Chinese miners in town. Love your videos.
Thanks for watching, Yvonne!
It's always good when Cassey and Bowser are along on the trip adding their presence!
I agree!
"Waterfalling never get old" amen. I plan vacations around them.
Me too! Thanks Samantha.
“Waterfalls never get old.” = Truth!
Bowser seems to be a couch pup. Probably the heat got to him and he may have had stomach issues from too much water. River water. Thanks for taking us along. The waterfall was nice
Yeah, I figured it was probably from the water he drank. He's 100% fine now.
Enjoy immensely your historical narratives - thank you!
Great mix of environments for a shakedown trip! Bride, Furkid and custom RV!!
Thanks, glad you liked it!
Happy to see the lovely Cassie... I like your videos because you go places I like to see and also you make it interesting
That may be the most we have ever heard Cassie talk at one time. She's becoming more outgoing as time goes by.
She's as outgoing as she's always been. It's just tricky for me to figure out how to best incorporate her into the videos while also trying to make her feel comfortable on camera. Thanks for watching.
@@SUVRVing I thought she seemed very comfortable in this video.. she sounded relaxed altho it seemed like she may have been a bit warmer than she's used to... good video of both of you, and Bowser of course
@@SUVRVing I was not watching, but if your wife is in them now, I'll be watching everytime she is in it. Seemed odd was wasn't already. A Very enjoyable Vid.!
@@anitablades6033 you must be new to TRISTAN’S channel. It isn’t odd at all that Cassie is not in his vids more often. He has stated several times thst she doesn’t really enjoy being filmed, she is in school so can’t take off out of town all the time and….it is Tristan’s gig, it was not started as a couples channel
During the video I noticed Bowser wading in the natural stream. Possible he drank some of that water. If he is a homebody, like us, that use water filters, natural water could upset his stomach
Cassie, I’m with you. Camping in the heat is no fun!!
Add a dog cooling pad under you and a good fan. Keep the dog cooling
pad away from daytime heat. Mine goes under the air conditioner vent or in a cooler. Some places sell cooling sheets, blankets and mattress covers but IDK how well that works. Wash up a bit right before bed - get sweat off. Reflecting in the windows during the day keep the vehicle from overheating. Keep hydrated.
Nice little campsite by the water. The sound is very soothing.
That first campsite…❤️.
Thanks for sharing the family adventure! 👍
Maybe Bowser is throwing up in protest. You dine out, while he sits there dreaming you're going to order him a beef patty...and it never comes. Just a theory.
Lol I think you nailed it!
Tristan don't apologize for the video, I personally consider it one of your best. You're chilling with your family and how y'all interact with what you love doing. Enjoy your life's journey and thanks for the informative and eye catching beauty you present. 👍🏿😎
Always great to see Cassie and Bowser! 😎
Yep, they're great! 😄
I like that your trips have a variety of things to do and see. Just my kind of trip. Enjoyed the historical and cultural bits of info. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing your adventures with us.
Thanks Sophie, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for watching! In case you missed it, here's last week's build video of the Yukon platform (including some additions and changes I made after this video was filmed): ua-cam.com/video/3CD16-29bJ4/v-deo.html
I saw it. You sure did a good job, for not being a carpenter.
Good to see your wife and pooch on the road again.
I don't think you should apologize for spending time with the wife and pup. That is what is important in life. But, thanks for bringing all of us along. The adventures are always fun to see, and it looks like the new rig is working out too!
Looks like it was a nice first outing except for puppy tummy troubles. Thanks for the waterfall and the tour of Boise❤
Yep, we enjoyed it! Thanks for watching.
Welcome to Boise! Glad you finally made it here. Its our little secret, although the recent growth has been a concern, its still an amazing place to live. "Idaho Is What America Was" as they say.
Thanks for watching!
Cassie is just adorable. You two are made for each other. Fun video. 😊
Ooh sorry Cassie and Bowser were uncomfortable in the heat and glad Bowser got in that little creek and they both got under that fountain in town! Thank you Tristan for showing the Yukon inside platform and storage!❤️😀🇺🇸🚙🌏
Thank you for mentioning the Chinese and their role in building the West.
Love your maps you put at the beginning of the video. Love your new rig!
Thanks, I'm glad they're helpful!
What a cute little family you have Tristan! I love Cassie and Bowser is SUCH a trooper!!
They're pretty great! 😁
Hi Cassie and Bowser. It is always good to see you both as well. I am glad the new vehicle is working out so well. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching, Robert!
Really enjoyed the tours, especially learning the history of Idaho City. And, it's always nice to see Cassie and Bowser along for the trip. Hope you are enjoying your new rig. See ya next time!
Family time is more important than anything, no video apologies necessary, it's always very entertaining and informative to join you all on the trips, so thank you. Still freaked out by the freaky wall, that was.....well, pretty freaky, lol.
Whoa great bakery! It's not often you find real homemade croissant in the wilds!
I still think about that croissant. It was really good!
There is an excellent series on Chinese and other Asian Americans available from PBS.
I enjoyed seeing McCaul, Boise, and the mining town, as well as Cassie and Bowser. Gives me a sense of the area beyond the natural scenes. I didn’t find it disjointed at all-merely a different focus. Happy journeys to you both.
How smart!!! I love the idea, I really enjoy your videos
Thanks Grace!
What a pretty Lake /Town. Your camping site is perfect. Reminds me a bit of grand lake in the mountains in my home state of Co. Thanks so much for sharing love your Channel. And as always safe and happy travels
It's a pretty place, for sure! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for this video. I agree that the time spent with your wife and dog are paramount so I appreciate your family's willingness to share so much with us. It seems that the purchase of this vehicle will be a game changer for your journeys both solo and as a family & this is a really great indicator of this. So glad you got the chance to test out your innovative access to your gear beneath the sleeping platform - well done and congrats on implementing your ideas! :)
Thanks Allie! The new rig has been fun, for sure. I'm excited to take it on a longer trip in a couple weeks.
@@SUVRVing We will all look forward to that trip!
Aww, poor Bowzer. I hope he’s better. Thanks for sharing
Yep, he's 100% now 😁 Thanks for watching.
There is a great wall to climb on the north end of the lake called the Thinking Spot.
As always...a great trip for all of us....Hope Bowser recovered completely
Yep, he's doing great!
Really enjoyed this video with the scenery and the history given! Thank you for sharing
The Falls are amazing! Thanks
They were pretty, for sure!
I'd like to thank you for your videos. I just spent the last month in one of my jeeps in Colorado mountains. Several years of watching your videos finally inspired me to do it. The experience of boondocking in the national forests was wonderful. The Alpicool I purchased based on your review more than paid for itself and the entire experience cost less than one thousand dollars, including fuel. Again, thank you.
Good video! I spent a day in boise maybe 15 years ago..there's a great trail along the river through town its a nice place ... the McCall area is beautiful and awesome have family in that area its really nice . Elk city is another old mining town way out there in the mountains that is interesting.. I enjoyed the video a lot thank you for sharing your adventures
I visited Elk City last year after driving the Magruder Corridor. Interesting little spot. Thanks John!
@@SUVRVing I want to do that corridor that is high on my list of wants lol!
Tanks again always look forward to next video!
Beautiful ❤️. So sorry Bowser had tummy trouble but he seems to be quite a trooper. I went through McCall earlier this summer but was too much traffic so did not stop anywhere. Thank you guys for tour. Idaho City looks interesting. Sitting on a rock watching fish pass by sounds heavenly. Be safe.
Always enjoy seeing your wife and Bowser. I hope the little feller is ok😻😻😻
Yes, it's a comfortable Enchanted part of the world, along a Babbling Brook and boulders.
I wonder what you'll discover, Treasures among the trees 🌳🤔!
Thank you both for having me along. I enjoyed it!
Always nice to have videos with Cassie. Not sure why but the first time I went to Boise I went to see the blue Boise State football field. The drive from Boise to Stanley is a nice drive too.
Miss that area. So glad you posted this.
Love the falls, camping spot and creek! Great to see the fam.
Thanks Kylie!
Enjoyed the video and the tours, like your presentation style and the details you tell us 👍
Thanks Virat!
I really enjoy spending my Saturday mornings checking out your latest adventure! Thanks for sharing the good and the not so good parts of your trip. Take care!
Nice to see you out with your lovely wife, cute dog and new rig. Years ago, my family and I camped at Ponderosa State Park near McCall and I remember riding bikes into town and touring the McCall Smokejumper Base.
I grew up in boy-ZEE. It was fun seeing the three of you together. Cassie will grow into her role. Be natural and it will work out. We enjoy your channel immensely. Love, love, love the mountain hikes.
Awesome waterfall and interesting history. Love the alley.
Thanks Dixie!
I’m glad you’re liking the new rig. It’s good to see Cassie and Bowzer. Maybe he got car sick 🤷🏼♀️
Making memories TOGETHER
I want to put that town on my bucket list. Looks like a safe town
Don't apologize for wanting to spend time with your family. Loved the video and as usual gave me some ideas for a future trip.
Thanks Dave!
Welcome to Boise! Love Idaho City for a day trip. We often drive up for dinner during the year. You can pan for gold along the creek. The Boise Capital building is suppose to be an exact replica of the US Capital in DC. Freak Alley has really expanded over the years - interesting graffiti artwork. The basque used to cook an interesting paella dish on that street and sometimes performed dances in full costumes which is lovely display of their culture.
Boise is great! I'd like to go back and explore more of the Basque history in the area. Thanks for watching, Joan.
I very much so enjoyed this video. It is nice to see you and your family along with you on your trip. It's not good for man to be alone.
Thanks so much. Van Life is CALLING me . I'm in my 78th year on Earth now ! Loved camping b4 & know I'll love it NOW too. Never been to IDAHO ! Now I want to explore.
Chinese and Japanese built a lot of the irrigation canal systems throughout the West as well as railroads and many small mining towns only "doctor" was a Chinese apothecary with traditional herbs
Waterfalls never get old, nor do your videos!!!!
Glad you got to spend some time with your wife. Tell her she's doing great. Thanks for taking us along.
Bowser seems to enjoy the water. I wish mine did.
My brother-in-law is Basque.
I enjoyed your journey. Thank you for sharing.
My favorite part is Cassie cracking up as she's telling the tale of the night before!
Any video with Kassie in it is a great video.
Yep, she's great!
That was a fun trip. Thanks for taking us along. Something tells me Bauzer didn't like the change of water, especially when it was so hot.
Yeah I'm guessing he drank some bad creek or river water or something. But he's 100% now. Thanks for watching!
Very nice how Cassie keeps Bowser cooled off 🤓👍
Enjoyed the great info and beautiful scenery. Our daughter lives in Idaho and have visited a few times. Be safe and thanks for sharing.
Glad to see you in my part of Idaho! If you are back in the area there are lots of roads taking off from Idaho City to explore as well as an interesting pioneer cemetery. Around Boise there are many miles of trails in the foothills, mountain biking at Bogus Basin, fishing the Snake River at Swan Falls Dam, floating the Boise River and tons more.
Since I know you like deserts and canyons, the Owyhee Front has lots of both. Not necessarily long hikes but there are some cool waterfalls and canyons out there.
If you want to spend a week around here I can give you plenty of spots to check out :)
Yes, waterfalls never get old!!! It was fun seeing the Capital city and going to the Chinese house AND the BASQUE District…. We have run into a basque sheepherder up in the Jarbidge mtns in NV…. And here in Fresno there is a large community too…. The Freak Alley Art studio was rather interesting too … hope Bowser got better when he got home & cooled off….. it was nice to meet Kassie!!!! Look forward to next adventures in the new Rig 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Another great video, Tristan. Not disjointed from my perspective! I like seeing Cassie and Bowser involved, even if he wasn't feeling the best. Maybe it was the heat that got to him....poor guy. And the Yukon looks quite a bit more roomy for the 3 of you. Anyway I enjoyed every minute! Thanks as always ☺ 😊
Great video as always😊Bowser is cute cute cute🌟
I grew up in a family that fished to supplement our diet of pasture-raised beef when we went to Flaming Gorge in 1962 the trout were 2-3 lbs I am talking all of us got our limits every day. YUMMY
You three are perfect for each other… I’m running outa episodes and that includes Tenkara episodes…. I’ve also purchased my first Rod.
Welcome to Boise. The greenbelt along the River is beautiful. This week is the Spirit of Boise Ballon Classic, featuring hot air balloons from all over the country. My favorite event of the year! It runs from September 1st through the 5th. Great video as always, thank you.
Thanks for sharing your adventure mobile set up. It was great seeing Cassie and Bowser on this trip as well.
Was in John Day Oregon in June. The Kam Wah Chung State historical site had limited access due to covid. Lots of Chinese history in eastern Oregon.
I like seeing your beautiful wife, it adds a warm quality to your video, and especially liked the tour of the little town.
I have a Nissan Rogue. I have a 17 inch Blackstone grill so I don't have to go to restaurants to eat. Pancakes and a couple of eggs or bacon and french toast is easy and fun.
To be fair, I don't have to go to restaurants to eat, either, but I vastly prefer that to cooking!
Nice setup in your Yukon. Previously owned a 2002 Tahoe. Sold it with close to 200,000 miles. Just did normal maintenance, no problems. The Yukon/Tahoe is a great vehicle. Loved the way it drove and how comfortable it was. Only con was the gas mileage which was about 14mpg. Enjoy your Yukon. Excellent choice.
Both meals look great. Glad the Yukon is working out well.
Tasty for sure! Thanks James.
Really enjoyed the cultural highlights in this video. Thanks Tristan.
Love your wife, so cute.
She sure is!
I didn’t think it was disjointed at all. Love the historical content you include.
Poor Bowser😯 I'm glad he's better
I love state capitols. Do go inside. They can be amazing. Some showcase interesting stuff in the state. Some have statues of famous people and a brief story. Some have balconies with views. Each is unique. The outsides can be similar. Most state capitols have museums and other points of interest nearby. Some state capitols have tours. Some have cool governor mansions you can tour. Some times there are cool parks and old cemetery’s.
Enjoyed this video. Hope the pup is ok!
Yep, he's great 😁
Nice test run. I'm thinking of doing a loop through Idaho for a week or two of fall adventure. Starting by going over Lolo and heading up hwy 12 and the Clearwater to Kooskia, then down to the McCall/Payette Lake area, over through Stanley and then Craters of the Moon and then to the Cascade Corner of Yellowstone and Cave Falls. This video and some of your other Idaho trips has given some great spots to see along the way.
That'll be a great trip, for sure! Have fun, Eugene.
Lovely quick trip. I have a hard time combining camping with tourism. We need to do more eating out, visiting sights and then sleeping in the woods.
The waterfalls were beautiful
Good to see you were keeping Bowser wet and cool. The heat may be why he puked.
I love how your videos are down to earth and always fun to see you with Cassie and Bowzer. The bits of chunk from Bowzer...hahahaha. I've had some of those nights with our fur baby. Man on your first trip together in the new vehicle! What an adventure! Great video once again. Thanks for sharing your travels with all of us Tristan!
As your resident Jew, knishes are wonderful, though it’s usually just filled with mashed potatoes and cabbage. I love them. Yes, it’s Eastern European, but I don’t know what they’re called in Polish or Russian. But for us Jews, it’s knish. Yes, there are Jews in Idaho. Lots in Utah, too.
Next time in McCall you have to visit the Starbucks inside the Albertsons Grocery store just down the street from Stacey Cakes. It’s on the second story of the store with a fireplace and outdoor balcony with a view of the lake. Most comfy Starbucks we’ve ever visited.
This is an excellent video!! Beautiful family!!
Enjoyed the trip and the history lesson. Great to see Cassie, she is one cool chick (great SUV shirt). I hate the heat too, I have a few of those USB fans in different sizes... life savers!
