- I was asked to help preserve a unique ash tree that had a defective main trunk with included bark that subsequently was compromised further by a recent storm. We ordinarily do not brace fractured trees especially in a high traffic area, but this was not a large tree and it shaded a rather well maintained shade garden. It will be interesting where this tree is in five years considering the emerald ash borer and this hardware intervention. Please like and subscribe and don’t forget to check out.
Keep in mind I am an owner operator exempt from workman’s comp. Working alone is not something we ever ask an employee to do. I am acting in the capacity of an owner operator for the benefit of other owner operators or employees who may find themselves across the worksite from the nearest ground personnel:) please comment if you find this series of solo videos helpful.

I have this exact same issue although with a couple larger Ash trees. A previous homeowner planted 4 nice ash trees but never pruned or cared for them in the last 60 years!! I treated for EAB and fertilized all of them. They look great now but there are some serious separations I need to address. Learning so much from your video thank you for posting.
Very interesting thanks for sharing Kevin!👍👍
Not the typical job:) thanks for watching. Cabling isn’t exciting unless you like watching a guy forget everything 😂
@@GameofTrees I learned to not fast forward-missed too much good stuff 🥴
Well thank the Good Lord you found your ascender in the bush! 🇨🇦🇺🇸
Can you believe it! I was grateful indeed. $350 plus to replace. I should really be more careful 😂 thanks for your comment.
Haha that was a great example of cabling and just kind of the fun but sometimes a pain in butt part of climbing work. Up down up down up down
Something always happens on a cabling job:) thanks for your comment
Don't feel alone everyone has days and things happen like that on jobs. If we have patience with ourselves we save ourselves a lot of needless frustration.
Thanks for the encouragement, I need it after every cabling job.😂
😆👍✝️ Jeremiah 29:11-13
Hoping they can afford a mature tree purchase.
Note to watch entire video before commenting 😂
They’ll have a few years to save:)
I have had days like that...
Yeah they’re called cabling days😂 clients kind of have to talk me into it:)
👍🏼👍🏼
What kind of drill is that?
Dewalt 60v angle drill
Awesome thank you
Oh it’s terrible this happened to a lovely tree.
The storm destroyed giant trees from west to east in Madison. This at least, is a temporary save. Thanks for your comment!
Wow
Great job
Estimate time of job without the up and downs. ?
Lol
I was there an hour and a half. Fortunately it was a short tree😂 if it was taller maybe I would’ve thought a lot more😀
You're the first arborist I've heard saying to not cut the bark away to sink the washer.
Look! Someone dropped an akimbo on that mulch! EDIT: I wrote this before he actually said it LMAO. :D
Sat there all night 😂
@@GameofTrees Are you kidding! thats crazy tbh, so scary
